low-key i think that Archer's kick is one of the most mechanically interesting moves in the game, it's super versatile and offers way more mobility than most people realize.
It's honestly my favorite thing, it can even combos with mystic knight and thief. Like you do the dragon pierce, then the archer's kick and follow up with skull splitter.
While yes I think it’s meant to be played with a full party. Playing solo as a ranger or assassin in the first game was arguably the strongest setup in the game when paired with blast arrows and the augments that increased strength at nighttime and when adventuring alone.
@@osirisavra1301 Most fun way to play on NG+ is to just have you and your main pawn, and use the warfarer class so you can swap to healing between battles. Not super OP, but fun af.
Nice gameplay. Also an archer main, even though it's not the strongest, I just love the gameplay. Shame the arrows are consumable for no reason and archer doesn't even have an enchanted/elemental bow. Btw tarring arrows are great for ogres, chimeras and especially griffins before you shoot them with the explosive one. And blighting arrows knock dragons out of the sky.
Welcome to stagger city friend 🤣. That first clip was brutal and I experienced that alot as an Archer. Its pretty tough at the start even with pawns. Don't know what possessed you to try this out but you made it look fun 😎👍
@@morbid1. Step One: Level Sorcerer until you unlock the Constancy augment Step Two: Buy a Ring of Resolution from the traveling merchant in Melve Step Three: Buy another Ring of Resolution from the traveling merchant in Melve These together give you enough knockdown res to ignore most light attacks, up to Hobgoblin leaps. Knacker leaps will probably still stagger you though. IME (as a Sorcerer) you should be shooting for around 550+ knockdown resistance, which is fairly easy to achieve. Spending both ring slots on it is frankly well worth it, because no other rings really offer as much utility beyond the Ring of Disfavor for aggro or the cast speed rings (which are themselves only useful for Meteoron/Maelstrom anyway)
After playing all the vocations, mechanically archer is just the most fun. Love kicking and sliding and bouncing off enemies. Also double blight arrows and big boom arrows shred health 👌🏻
I just started a solo archer run, been a lot of fun so far, but my god when enemy spawn link up and it turns into 1 vs 20 it’s… amusing to at the least.
Archer - Dragon's Dogma 2, the thinking man's class. "Does the kill validate the amount of prep time required?" Edition. I don't like how Capcom can take away some our old skills like Cloudburst Volley, but can't add a deflect/parry to push enemies away to help create distance.
I don't really miss cloudburst but I do wish they had like a close range bow attack similar to the kick but actually with the bow but the kick arrow shot combo is so cool so I'm not mad.
I never played DD1, but I feel like Archer in DD2 is very balanced. The dodge roll is especially good. It's just weak against mobs, which makes it feel like a very balanced class overall.
@@OnyxEyes-zy8mj Strider and Ranger in DD1/DD:DA were by far the highest damage output classes in the game, as well as the best for applying status due to how specialty arrows worked (you just equipped them and they'd be spent while using your skills, rather than being tied to specific skills like in DD2). A Ranger with sleep arrows, blast arrows, and Deathly Arrow (skill) could solo endgame content at basically any level
lol i like how the first stunlocked clip is in battahl and the rest of the clips are in vermund. lesson learned, those battahl goblins are different i got stunlocked there as a fighter
It was smart move to make special arrows a skill. DD1 you could basically one shot majority of the enemies with a blast arrow. The throw blast was op too but fun.
YES, Spiral arrow helps me with a lot of tactical play. I typically use spiral, run jump, kick, and shoot. Spiral Arrow pushes enemies back and creates distance.
you need that dwarf smithing for knockdown res and knockdown power I was thinking about solo adventure but as a standard knight (fighter voc) main game I basically did archer and then mystic archer because aiming on gamepad is shit so it's easier a bit with magic bow Overall I think archer and fighter are the weakest vocations...
I believe they all have their individual pros and cons depending on the situation but yes, dwarven smithing is essential for solo play, especially as a class with poor knockdown (which is basically anything other than warrior).
Havent tried solo, because i thought it would be nightmarish and turns out it is,but as a team player archer is very fun,i started as Archer and have swapped to other vocations to try them out but i always end up saying "man i wish i was playing archer right now" 90% of the time, incendiary shot and erupting shot are simply too good and safe to use, spiral arrow stunt looks and heavenly shot or deathly arrow are so satisfying to land, specially if using the ring that increases bow damage the closer you are.
Well said! Archer is, in my opinion one of the more rewarding vocations to play in general and if you like playing archer that much, I encourage you to try it solo. It’s a very different style of play that can range from really frustrating to really good at times.
shoot things from far away and nothing can reach you hehe. You can play naked as an archer. Dragons can't do anything because of the blight shot, it's all easy and fun for the archer. A great vocation.
Could killed dragon more than half the time you took if you explosion shot head into spiral arrow or double exploration to knock him down then spiral arrow his chest into torrent shot. You can melt two almost 3 bars in his down state that way!
I wouldn’t say very weak, just better suited for other things. This game seems to revolve around fighting with pawns more so than the last game, which is unfortunate to say the least. I do agree that it was nerfed rather heavily though.
0:05 not only gets that typical DD2 JAB down throat but zooms exquisitely the regular terrible gameplay that you see all over the net truly wandered if you allowed them to kill you like that on purpose at the beginning ? i mean you may surprised the amount of piles of uploaders who makes playlists of nothing but shitty gameplay anyway yes realized you are alright after enduring the intro that killed me Btw 11:01 the way you edited F U CK!! you would think that Draconic flames will do much more damage even on higher level Arisens
game is way harder if you solo it without any pawns... especially for archer class.... Mystic Spearhand could handle this much enemies much better solo
