About Jackson:
Jackson began back in the late 1970s, when heavy music experienced a flamboyant and virtuosic resurgence in popularity and a small Southern California guitar repair shop became the epicenter of a new level of shred-approved excellence. Ever since then, Jackson guitars have been universally lauded as the metal guitars; the shred machines-highly original high-performance instruments of distinctive style and formidable substance. From metal’s chart-topping peaks to its darkest recesses, for discerning guitarists all over the globe, Jackson is the only way to go.

Brandon is a brilliant guitarist! The only downside of the new American Series Soloist is that it is equipped with a mid-level, made in Korea Floyd Rose 1500 but you are expected to pay top dollar for it, whereas lower priced Japanese Jackson Soloists come with a higher quality Floyd Rose Original made in Germany.
@AmericanNationalist852

Makes zero sense. Anyone paying top dollar for these American made soloists is gullible AF
@Shark_Sandwich
@Shark_Sandwich 2 года назад
The stainless steel screws the 1500 series come with are an upgrade for me over the Original Floyd screws, plus Jeff Loomis' USA signature Kelly comes with the 1500 series, and that man knows a thing or 2 about Floyd Roses... Also the Japanese Jacksons come with Japanese made GOTOH 'floyd style' trems, not original Floyd's.
@Bottomdweller
@Bottomdweller 2 года назад
@@Shark_Sandwich You're wrong. Only MJ Series come with Gotohs. The new Concept Series Japanese Jacksons (Soloist, Rhoads) come equipped with Original Floyd Rose bridges manufactured by Schaller in Germany and are still 900 USD cheaper than this.
@Shark_Sandwich
@Shark_Sandwich 2 года назад
@@Bottomdweller The Concept series are made in Korea (not Japan), but they do indeed come with Floyd Rose Original. Personally I'd rather spend my money on a higher quality build than high end parts on a lower quality guitar. Good that Jackson offers so much choice that each player can find what suits them best.
@Bottomdweller
@Bottomdweller 2 года назад
@@Shark_Sandwich I thought they were Japanese (just like the 90s original MIJ Concept series) because of the price tag. Well, then I would wait and save my money towards a Made in USA Jackson with OFR bridge, pearl logo and binding.

He’s the new young Loomis. Jeff is probably my favorite guitarist in terms of writing, riffs, solos. Just so happens Mr.Ellis fits in the same way, monster riffs and chops, melodically sound and his technique is incredible. He can solo like no one’s business. It’s just awesome to see another player who inspires me the same way Jeff does. They’re not the same at all but there is a lot of cross over between the two that is just amazing to me and too see/hear. Want this guitar 😆

Hope that the issues with a seven string Kelly can get resolved. I know Jeff Loomis didn’t do it because of the neck dive issue. Brandon modding his own Kelly with the shifting in position of the lower strap button six inches to the left of the Floyd could solve the issue with a potential seven string Kelly design. Been a Jackson user since 2007 and haven’t used anything else since that day as my main instruments. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

I bought one for Christmas in 2022. I have had it for a year and half now. The guitar is sick. It makes you want to play it. What I found interesting is everyone saying that it comes perfectly setup. Mine didn't. The bridge angle was off, the action was way off, the intonation was off and the pickup height was also way off. The only thing that didn't need an adjustment was the neck relief. It was perfect. It was as if they mounted the bridge, mounted the pickups, put strings on it, put in a box and shipped it. That didn't bother me because I prefer to do my own setups anyway. I just thought it was kind of funny.

A Floyd 1500 (or 1000 - same trem different finish options) isn't bad if it has the stainless parts like this one is equipped with AND these have locking tuners (behind a locking nut?) but I share your concern: Inflation might be more properly described as "price gouging". A better value is the recent concept series Soloist which has an original Floyd Rose, Luminlay dots, locking tuners, binding, comparable electronics etc. What's the difference? One is Made in USA and one is Made in South Korea. For some people the USA made is important I guess but I find it hard to justify an increase of $600 over the concept series. The concept series is right at the $2k price point. I still think the best "bang for your buck Soloist" is the SL2Q MAH which is at the $1200-1300 USD price point, has body and neck binding, Duncans, Dunlop Staploks, same graphite reinforced neckthru, ebony fingerboard with jumbo frets, Floyd 1000, and you can play gigs right out of the box basically with some minor adjustments. A good platform for modding and upgrading as required too.
@aliensporebomb
@aliensporebomb 2 года назад
@@tedbundy2797 The $700 Soloist has a laurel fingerboard. Most players want that ebony for that smooth feel. Trem is a Floyd Rose Special (never cared for the special myself, I have the same reservations on that trem that people in this comment thread are saying about the 1500). And pickups are "Duncan Designed" not actual Duncans. If I had to start over with no guitar and only had $700 I'd get it and mod the heck out of it but why not save a little more and get something that doesn't require work like pickup swaps before you can enjoy it?
@joshfairbanks33
@joshfairbanks33 2 года назад
@@aliensporebomb Yeah I can see that, I just feel like this is a step away from the sanctity of the "Made in USA" thing. Not to mention like you said, they put Original Floyds on more inexpensive models. I also wonder why Jackson chose the same color scheme is the Suhr Modern Terra series that was put out a while ago, but that could just be me being irritable lmao.

I'll wait and see. The problem with Jackson was never the marketing. My own USA select is not perfect to me 100% at that ridiculous price. I've seen others who needed to return a few of their USA select due to imperfection back in the days nor mentioning the famous "23 fret custom shop" case. A 2 grands USA made soloist at this day and age is something special for grab. Let's hope Jackson's finally waking up their idea on a way to return to their old glory heist.

The inlays facing the wrong way really bother me, probably more than they should. I like these guitars a lot, but like the Charvel US selects, the prices are astronomical.
