Honestly, I think everyone can agree that they're genuinely better off as solo artists. Especially Camila and Normani. Camila was already great and her solo career made her better. Normani was really pushed back in the group and look at her now, She's finally getting the recognition she deserves because she's so underrated.
Im sorry but normani is the 2nd one who had the most solos and screentime. Lauren is the one who was pushed back. I remember some of their live performances Lauren was just there dancing holding her mic 😂

I think the problem was that after Camila left the group the label wasn't interested in the group anymore so they didn't promote them at all. It's all about promotion and money. Because we know nowadays there are so many songs that are horrible but are everywhere because of promotion and payola. The song wasn't bad and the album wasn't bad either. They have really good songs. But nobody outside from the fandom knew about it because of what i said before.
Normani with Sam Smith in Dancing With A Stranger is up there with my favorite duets of all time. I hope to hear more of her future collabs. she has an amazing voice.
Down was not unique enough to highlight their new era cuz it sounded like something they've done before, however that album was so diverse and full of HITS....it was so underrated and the fact that it was the first album where all of them had writing credits, I'm pretty sure this album meant a lot to them.
Although I loved them, only 4/11 of their songs slap and none of them are single worthy. They needed better songs and a set tone for their new era. They had potential.
i loved that album but they needed to come back with a bang if they wanted to follow up work from home,also i think their management gave up on them kinda but it's whatever now i just need normani 1 😔🤲🏽

When I was 12-13 I loved listening to their songs: 1.Down 2.Work from Home 3.Don't Say You Love Me 4.Worth It But same here I'm happy they went their own ways coz damn it's been idk 6 years or more since then we all listened to their songs and ngl he's right about their song Work From Home being everywhere Even in the Philippines back in 2016 when my Dad and I would take a taxi ride to the mall I always loved the song coming up on the radio
It wasn't their fault, it's important to recognize that. They were treated like trash by their company I'm so fully glad with how free and good they all are being now, regardless if they're doing something musically or not. I'll always support the four of them

You definitely have been doing some research, but all in all Fifth Harmony stopped being promoted after Camila left. The budget for music videos were less, He like that got no promotion for radio and the remix flopped as well. The girls knew that they weren't getting treated right, and decided to let it go, I can't really blame them.

Even if down became successful, im pretty sure they already planned leaving after this era, lauren was already counting her days with her contract on fifth harmony. The amount of stress and labor that the girls were given explains why they all wanted to leave one by one
Even if they hadn’t released Down I’m pretty sure they still wouldn’t have been successful. With Camila gone and a shitty label like Epic Records that wouldn’t invest in them (no promotion, not enough tracks on the album, low budget for tour and music videos etc) they didn’t stand a chance as a group, and since they all originally wanted to be solo artists they were destined to break up eventually.

"Down" didn't end 5th Harmony. Lack of promotion from their record label did. After poor sales their record company pulled the plug and they tried to push Camilia. And that didn't really work either.
False Camila flourished after she left the group and want even signed to their company for them to try and push her. When she left their sales dropped because she was the bread maker and the most biased member of the group. That and coupled with the rumors of them bullying and excluding her they hit rock bottom. The company did a good thing by pulling the rug because why invest in a train wreck. They weren’t really make money from them anymore and this is a business. You can’t pay everyone off scraps so they had to have their budged cut.
Before the infamous Star Sprangled Banner performance Fergie had been rather less popular than she was before. Fergie peaked when she released The Dutchess where all of the singles released from the album were very successful (the album is very amazing too!). Tbh she actually gained the attention that she hadn't gained for quite some time since that performance.
If they made ‘he like that’ as their main single then they wouldn’t have flopped!! that album was probably one of my fave 5h albums and deserved so much more recognition

He Like That was such a summer song, I don't know why they didn't use it as the head single... their label is stepping them up to failure though, they don't want Down to be the head single too, but the label insisted.
Down follows the hit-making formula of Worth It and Work From Home, so why choose something else when you can stick with the iconic sound? The higher ups thought it would work, but the formula wasn't the problem. It's Camila. Using He Like That wouldn't have changed anything.

Down was strategically their best move by playing it safe, but somehow still backfired because it lacked the flavor that Camila added to 5H. But you do have a point. Angel was (imo) the best song on the album and deserved much more.
Camila had a boost when she left the group early. She’s the ONLY artist that has an Audio and Music video to reach 1 billion views. Fifth Harmony didn’t stand a chance and it was better to split up and focus on themselves. Now Normani is the second most successful one from all of them.

It was obvious the audience only saw Camila as the star of the group. They weren’t destined to be a girl group anyway. They all started out as solos but X-Factor made them to be a group. I’m glad they all went their separate ways and are doing the things they originally wanted.
yeah Camila stood out the most because of her unique voice and charisma. however it’s unfortunate when fans narrow in on only one artist when the others are talented as well. Same with 1D (Harry styles) and Little Mix (Perrie)

@@redeemedstone I agree, Dinah was my personal fav for that reason but if you also watch the 5h takeovers and see more of their personalities you’ll see that although the directors pushed her in front, she was also very quirky and likeable which made it easy to market.
I feel like the reason they mostly "flopped“ was their label not really standing behind them after Camila left, bad promo, Down as a lead single, but especially the whole drama surrounding Camila‘s breakup and the gp kind of "choosing“ Camila‘s side. I loved their last album, but to be honest I think they are better off as soloists and they wouldn‘t have been able to hold the success they had as a quintet.

Tbh the song “Down” was really good and the album but it was so weird without Camila.. Watching live performances without her was awkward because Camila always spoke to the crowd & held fans hands whilst performing but after she left the Group.. The live performances were kinda boring & there wasn’t much communication with the group and with the crowd I always wondered what they would be like as solo’s (that was their dreams anyway) especially when Camila did IKWUDLS it got me thinking about it Camila with her unique voice Normani being the best dancer/riffs/going low on notes/whistles Ally with her huge high notes Lauren with her raspy voice Dinah with the falsettos/riffs/high notes I’m so thankful Normani is being seen for her singing and her amazing dancing I’m happy to hear Camila solo (ngl she was my (is) favourite and it was 1 of my dreams just to hear a song with only her voice.. Sorry) I’m very happy to hear Lauren because she uses almost no Auto Tune and we can hear her raspy voice so much better! Dinah and Ally haven’t really given us a song that shows their full potential (the things I know they are capable of doing) I’m currently waiting on a song from Dinah and Ally that gives us feeling.. High notes/whistles/falsettos/riffs etc (I have heard all their solo songs and ones that haven’t been released) both of there songs “Bottled Up”/“Low-key” are soooo good but I’m waiting for slower music (I think all of them sound better when its a slower song) kinda like.. “1000 hands” “no way” ect Sadly the Record Label only allowed them to put out “catchy/upbeat” songs but I honestly preferred all the “emo” songs😂👀 we could actually hear ALL their vocals My favourite solo songs are Ally - Perfect Camila - Tbh I can’t choose because we got to many choices but maybe Something’s Gotta Give/I Have Questions Dinah - Heard It All Before Lauren - Falling Normani - Love Lies My favourite Fifth Harmony song is probably No Way My favourite without Camz is Don’t Say You Love Me/Messy I love all songs with AND without Camila.. I also think them being petty and shading Camilla at that one live concert was the biggest impact against their career. Then people started noticing how much Camilla was actually getting bullied by the girls, especially at old interviews.

Misleading information. Their last album "Fifth harmony" was 1 of 2 of their most successful projects. It sold 46k the first week, and was actually their 2nd most successful Era. Although 'Down ft. Gucci Mane' peaked at #42, their album debut at number 4 on Billboard Hot 200. This marked their fourth top 5 and third top 5 album. Same as Destiny's Child. Internationally, the album did great numbers as well, even debuting at number one in Spain. That Era after Camila left, was not how people set it out to be. Fifth Harmony still bagged a lot of success off that album and it wasn't a flop. I think people expected the worst or a "flop era" because the pressure was on Fifth Harmony at the time, but they still came through. It seems people believe it was their worst era and didn't give them credit for how hard they've work during that time.

I kinda honestly think, the song Down. Wasn’t the reason for the downfall, I think it was more the fact that. They weren’t getting much same attention and popularity as foursomes, like when they were fivesome with Camila. I do agreed about her popular member of group, ever since she left the group as the group was never. Ever really the same and popular anymore without her, that’s why I think why the group lost their popularity. And they were never same after that and I believe that why the band break up.
I wouldn't say it ruined their careers. If that wouldn't have happened they wouldn't have started their solo careers. They're so much better off now and I'm so glad Normani and Camila are getting the recognition they deserve.

Camila's stage presence also helped them. Without her, only Normani carried that aspect in their live performances. For vocals, others are better but Camila did add a different taste to their music. Just saying even though I like Lauren and Normani the most.

She was a valuable asset and also she had a fleet of fans who weren't happy about the way things went down. She also did so well as a solo artist and utilized Fifth Harmony's popularity to her advantage and produced owesome music she kinda stole the spotlight.

I remember when Camila started her solo career always stanned but I’ve also stanned the girl group after she left and “down” was such a good song and the rest of their songs were so good as well. It’s sad how things went but I guess it was the ending of that era.
If I gotta be honest… Camila is way better off, so is Normani, and all the others. Going solo is the way for them. Down IS one of my all-time faves though-
Down sucked, it was so basic but their album wasn't bad. It showed growth, I do think they were immature about the Camila situation. She even admitted to turning down collaborations such as closer with Halsey could have been camila. But she turned it down for them I think they had a little envy, Camila always got the most attention, they probably also lost fans because of camila, I think they lost a big fan base and that's the real reason their group departed besides them already wanting to be solo anyway
After the VMAs when they did that stunt I was over them. That's also why...idc if Camila was whatever she was but when you choose hate you get what you gave. That's what happens.
That stunt made them lose a lot of their fans. Most of their fans were just there for Camila, and trying their best to also support the other girls....but when they pulled that stunt, the fans gave up.

Honestly I don't really care what anybody says but they literally flopped because Camila left she was literally the main focus of the group and she was pretty much the only reason they were even still together. Not to mention they were destined to break up eventually anyways considering they all wanted to pursue soloist careers anyways. And I really do hate to sound harsh but most boy band / girl groups don't usually last and at most they last for a few years and they usually just end up breaking up I actually just found out recently I never knew this Never Shout Never broke up like forever ago and that's why I haven't heard any music from them but I just found out recently apparently Christopher Drew was still putting out music and I just didn't f****** know

I remember thinking "Down" was trying too hard to be "Work From Home Pt. 2". I reeeeeeeally loved "No Angel", but oh well. For me, I think also their VMA performance was not classy or respectful, the way they basically had a fake Camila jump off the stage. It just felt cheap and tacky and drama, rather than taking the high road. They kinda lost all my respect after that.

I just think, that the group didn’t have to seems, have the same spark when they were a five piece. I mean, I don’t thinks their 3rd album and 1st album as a foursome wasn’t that bad. I just felt like the third and last album fell short and robbed, they never got the recognition they deserve. 10 tracks + 1 extra, it feels a little short. Compare to their first and second album with 11 or 12 tracks + 2 or 5 extra, including deluxe edition which their 3rd lack off…

I was in this era, in their worst (even tho the last album is literally full of bangers!), and we all in the fandom knew they were sabottaged, the company didn't care about them anymore and NEVER promoted the album correctly, I remember they even drop the Angel MV without promoting it in any other social media. And since problably the company not only kicked out Camila (they didn't let her say goodbye to the fans properly), but instead of letting the girls actually talk about Camila's departure, the management did everything and created a whole fanfic where Camila was a sort of villain, and as a result, they damaged the group's image forever. Some people still thinks the girls hated Camila...
