THE SONIC VILLAINS Q&A: ASK THE EGGMAN EMPIRE ( FULL EVENT ) 

EXE and Fleetway's partnership is so fucking cool and adorable in a way.

Seeing Sonic.EXE as a mastermind instead of a batshit insane God of Chaos like Kid Buu is both awesome and terrifying.

More proof Sonic has one of the most passionate fandom’s ever.

51:05 Funnily enough, this wasn't Eggman's original motivation at all, according to Naoto Ohshima. It was never about glory. It was about a vision. Eggman views himself as a sort of artist. He was inspired by his grandfather in his youth, and learned how to build technology of his own. In doing so, he developed an insanely high appreciation for machinery. He views it as a work of art, a creation that can surpass nature itself (which it can't). Eggman saw the whole world as a construction site in the making. His goal was to basically scrap and demolish what currently existed in the world and rebuild it from the ground up in his image. And his image is a massive factory powered by his supervision and intellect. Why else would he mechanize an entire satellite landmass in Sonic CD and chain it to a mountain? The problem is, factories need resources to stay operational, which is what drove Eggman to start treasure hunting for the Chaos Emeralds, crystallized life energy that can not only increase the lifespan of animals and restore destroyed life, but also power machines for all eternity. In order to keep his machines running for as long as he wants, ne needs these long-lost resources. In the meantime, he has a substitute. He converts ordinary wildlife to mechanical energy by using baby animals as sentient batteries for his robotic army. Somewhere along the line, he crossed paths with Sonic the Hedgehog, an extremely mobile and rebellious teenager who came from seemingly nowhere, but loves and appreciates the beauty of God's gift, that being nature. He wants to see as much of the world as he can, simply because he has the natural capacity for high-speed travel. When Sonic encountered Eggman and realized what he was doing, he put a stop to his work, much to the doctor's disdain. Since then, Sonic has kept an ear and an eye out for any sign of Eggman, just in case he needs to free wildlife from his control again. Somewhere along the line, though, Eggman noticed something about Sonic: He's inexplicably tied to the Chaos Emeralds. He knows how to access the full extent of their power, not just because of his Super form, but because he used six Emeralds to restore all the wildlife on South Island that Eggman destroyed in the first game. Eggman realized that in order to achieve the full power of the Chaos Emeralds, he needed a host. Sonic the Hedgehog was the best possible candidate. Since that discovery, he hasn't just gone after the Emeralds. He's been going after Sonic. Sonic and the Emeralds, combined with his machinery, create the key to his perfect mechanized world: The Chaos Battery. When Eggman doesn't catch Sonic, however, he turns to alternative methods, his first attempts being robotic recreations of Sonic that can either wear Sonic down enough for Eggman to catch him (Metal Sonic from CD), or a mechanical host for Chaos Energy (Mecha Sonic from 3&K). These attempts are proven insufficient, however, since technology can never surpass the strength of nature, especially when it comes to Sonic, who is more energetic and full of life than any other known creature. His second attempt at replacing Sonic as the perfect Chaos Battery is the Master Emerald, the mother gem that powers an entire floating landmass (Angel Island). He almost succeeds at making off with it after tricking its unofficial guardian Knuckles, but Sonic stops him and returns the Emerald to its rightful place. Eggman can no longer recover this gem with ease, since it's now guarded by a much wiser Knuckles. Attempt 3 comes in the form of Chaos, the original guardian of the Chaos Emeralds. So he blows up the Master Emerald with his Egg Carrier, freeing Chaos (and Tikal) from its confines. He also tells Sonic his plan outright so that Sonic immediately starts searching for the Emeralds. Eggman knows that Sonic has a track record of successfully finding them, so all he has to do is ambush him at the right time and steal an Emerald after he finds one. This attempt also fails. When Chaos becomes powerful enough and catches Eggman in a weakened state, he betrays him and proceeds to finish what he started over a century ago: Take his anger and grief out on the world for the loss of his brethren (the Chao) by flooding it. Sonic prevents this, restores Chaos to his minimal state, and Tikal consoles him by showing that his kind still lives on. Chaos and Tikal ascend to Heaven, finally at peace. Eggman's final attempt at replacing Sonic in the Classic series is his grandfather's attempt at replicating what he calls the Ultimate Lifeform: Shadow the Hedgehog, an organic clone of Sonic's likenesses, specifically his Super form. Notably, Shadow's quills are shaped the same way Super Sonic's are in SA1. This leads to multiple discoveries: 1. Eggman finds his grandfather's legacy in the form of all the illegal weaponry that was constructed on the Space Colony ARK, which only exists because someone in command at the undercover G.U.N. organization demanded their creation. 2. Eggman's grandfather, in a rapid decline of his own sanity, vowed to detonate the entire world after suffering the loss of his closest family member, which was one of many casualties that came from G.U.N.'s raid on the Space Colony ARK to eliminate all traces of their hidden orbital base of illegal operations. 3. Shadow the Hedgehog is NOT the Ultimate Lifeform, and his first attempt at going Super in the final battle kills him, because as a mere clone of Sonic, he can't withstand Chaos Energy the same way Sonic can. So he sacrifices himself. Upon discovering what happened to his grandfather, Eggman actually begins to rethink his entire vision for the world, and whether it's really worth it, considering the path his grandfather took that resulted in his imprisonment and execution at the hands of a greater evil. It's unknown what Eggman would have done after the events of SA2, because the original writers packed up and left after that game.

I asked the question about the wedding - it did not disappoint.

Sonic.EXE being a computer virus makes more sense to me.

"Something went down with the Sonic I'm connected to and now my dimension is screwed." I never considered on a multiversal level what could have happened to everyone that essentially got deleted by the Super Genesis Wave. Really interesting to think about.

I love how Sonic.exe is literally what his name is, an executable file that gained sentience and even developed a god complex of sorts. And having him be friends with Super Sonic is oddly wholesome in a way. One being calm and collected and the other being a chaotic nutcase. Plus giving Fleetway Sonic a british accent is genius. Wish he kept it in his Super form though.

Quick head canon for Sonic.EXE: When Eggman was making prototypes with programs for a robot Sonic, he got to experimental with cosmic powers, namely the Chaos Emeralds. Through these experiments the program gained self-awareness, but exceeded FAR beyond most self-aware AI. It saw beyond the veil of space and time, into other universes and dimensions, it saw it all and wanted to conquer it all. Eggman tired to delete the program but it gained far too much power, so all he could do was bury it deep, deeper than any other files he’s ever buried. Down into the darkest recesses of his servers and computers. It still lingers, and at times resurfaces to cause havoc. This program was simply dubbed as “Sonic.EXE”.

Plot twist: The death the villians suffered was a delusion created by Infinite for exclude him from the show. Seriously, seems like Infinite is the only one those 2 didn't kill, might as well join them against the egghead and the rest.

I love how Scourge's introduction is literally just... "Hail to the king, baby". Really shows that Mephiles has some competition when it comes to being the Sonic version of Yuuki Terumi. Also, Rosy calling out all the rule 34 art of the characters is beautiful.

I just realized something that's even funnier In the last Endcard, with all they're heads on Pikes, Infinite wasn't anywhere to be seen, because he was excluded and Forgotten *AGAIN*

Sonic having a multiverse, including his different interpretations, is one of the best ideas I've ever seen. Kind of reminds me of Turtles Forever. This buildup is epic and hilarious. Highlights for me include: 1. Eggman writing his own version of the bible. I'm curious to see some verses. 2. Eggman and Dark Oak bonding over parenting. The fact Eggman sees Metal Sonic as his son is surprisingly heartwarming, as well as makes Sonic Heroes hilarious in hindsight. I'm also wondering if Dark Oak sees Tails as his arch enemy instead of Sonic for dating his daughter? 3. Scourge in general, or as I like to call him, The Green Greaser. Thanks for the Q & A!

Here are my thoughts on any Sonic villains: *Dr. Eggman* - A villain who I don't mind him. *Infinite* - A villain who deserves better. *Orbot and Cubot* - Started out poorly (Colors), however, they were better in IDW and Boom TV. *Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts* - Not so bad. They are capable of combat. *Snively, Emma R. and Robotnik Jr.* - Tolerable. *Dr. Starline* - I don't mind him. *Decoe and Bocoe* - Not capable of combat, but were smart. *Bokkun (Messenger Robo)* - Amazing. *Metal Sonic, Tails Doll, Metal Knuckles* - 3 coolest Metal trio. *Egg Robo (S3&K), Mecha Sonic (S3&K), Neo Metal Sonic and Mecha Knuckles (Advance 1)* - Not so bad villains at all. *Wendy, Scourge and Rosie* - These villains don't fuck around. *Breezie the Cyber Hedgehog* - Evil as fuck. Amazing. *Sleet and Dingo* - Not the best, but good, definitely better than Deadly Six. *Dark Oak, Metarex and Dark Gaia* - The _REAL_ intimidating villains. *Chaos, Black Doom and Biolizard* - Not so bad. *Mephiles* - An actual evil menacing villain. *Iblis* - A monster created by Mephiles. *Erazor Djinn* - A villain who killed Shahra (I don't know if she's alive or not) *Merlina* - A good twist-villain, who later became Sonic's ally, at the end of SatBK, I guess. *Hard-Boiled Heavies* - Damn good. *Lyric* - A wasted potential. *Deadly Six* - Shitty villains. They are basically poorman's Koopalings. The Deadly Six look like they are from an awful Pixar knock-off movie.

Why is this giving me League of Villain vibes, most hating each other, but putting it aside for, or against, sonic. They might even make friends, like Rosie and Sara

Who was everyone's favorite villain? Mine was Rosy. Scourge and Dark Oak are honorable mentions for sure. I loved their segments, like the interactions between each other, and the convo with Fleetway Sonic. Dark Oak's Daddy-Daughter time segment left me rolling. Oh - the Ultimate Lifeform wasn't too bad either - tbh everyone was good.

For you Scourge...welll, Mecha tried stealing the Master Emerald before. It didn't end well for him. God this Q&A was awesome! Just love how, despite the different universes, everyone's so unique and bounce off of one another. Eggman - The Egghead we know and love. Orbot & Cubot - Honestly adorable! Infinite - A pretty comically serious guy. Still cool as heck. My boi Metal Sonic - . . .think he's recovering from depression. Still taking Amy's therapy behind the doc's back. Also anybody noticed that Metal didn't die with the others at the end? Guess he really did run off. Boom Shadow - just as well written as his origin show. Kinda like him for who he is, tho not as much as mainline Shadow. Chaos - Absent. Yet again, he can't really talk well so- Sara - Jesus! Fleetway's not the only one struggling with possesion. Still love how Possessed Sara's just a satanic simp. Scourge - Just as jerky as we need from him. Rosy - A child psyschopath. Really entertraining for sure and makes an oddly cute (and creepy) team with Possessed Sara. Naugus - One of the few here that's actually civilized. Also an awesome troll. Sleet and Dingo - Dingo's adorable! Also both do make for a nice dynamic, kinda like the classic cartoony burgular duo you see in fiction. Scratch, Grounder & Coconuts - Love them still to bits. Nice contrast to the others and, funnily enough, pretty sane compared to their ''teammates'' Tails Doll - Absent too...for a good reason. We already have his buddy EXE making chaos. This entire thing had production values through the roof, everyone was excellent voiced and the character interactions were just so natural! you know i was really impressed by the sonic exe and fleetway tie ins, i really like how sonic exe is just an actual file, that has basically hijacked eggmans systems and robots, i think that it's also really cool how fleetway is even more deranged than how he was in the comics. overall i think those two were executed (no pun intended) really damn well. i'm glad that an actual fan creation other than your own characters have made their way into the movie. as i think that sonic exe is important to sonic culture, even if it was a garbage heap at one point. but the fleetway tie in will be really cool to see. as he's a super sonic so i wonder how the real sonic will take him down. who knows. and i really can't wait to see the finished product once this finally comes out. Keep up the amazing work!

I was originally going to complain that mephiles wasn't there, but then I realized that if he we're then he would manipulate scourge and dark oak to kill everyone else there. (Those two specifically because 1: Scourge is easier than silver and 2: Dark oak hates all sentient life anyway.)

I love how EXE talks, and acts very sophisticated, and Fleetway acts like more of a freakshow than Rosy the Rascal.

I love(d) this Q&A, the voices were amazing, especially Fleetway Sonic’s voice given that Fleetway is British. Nice job with Eggman, you do so well, I bet you anything loads of folks think its Mike voicing Eggman. When it comes to Scourge, this is how I will imagine his voice when I write him in my Sonic fanfics when/if he appears from here on out. Looking at all of these villains here is a pretty nice throwback.

This looks...VERY interesting. This is a tried and true trope of fiction, a supervillain team up going against one hero. But something to THIS scale? Not often is this tried. And what a carton of bad eggs to use too! Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts of the SSSSS Squad are practically my childhood, and I love those nincombots. Ixis Naugus always stood out to me amongst the avalanche of Archie characters. I always felt they went overboard, but Naugus is neat, ordinary in comparison to others, and I like that. Scourge is easily one of the best things to come from Archie. He has a specific level of attitude without seeming all "Nothin' personnel, kid" about it. Plus, he is no slouch, and can actually be threatening. Rosy freaking terrifies me. I don't recall Underground much, so Sleet and Dingo are brand new to me, but I like what I see. Sara was everything Elise WISHES she could've been, and I respect her for that. However, if I know ANYTHING about the not-so-good doctor, this creepy mind control won't last long. Dark Oak really makes me wanna watch Sonic X like I planned to. It's uncommon seeing an environmentalist evil robot. I like how Boom Shadow is painted more as a villain here, it's a neat take. Plus the voice is on point! Orbot and Cubot are perfect as always, and I'm glad Infinite wasn't left out.
