I’ve gotten some headphones based on your channel’s recommendations so when I saw Linus’ team do a review on them, I had to come back here and check what you guys thought about them. Given the landscape of audio right now, the Sonos just seem all over the place with their price and sound. They do look great though.
All the scattered reviews just tells you everything you need to know about the reviews. The sound is dope transparency is excellent and the bass and clarity are on point.
They seem to be very similar to the AirPods Max (for example in the marketing) so I think comparing those two would make sense. Otherwise, I guess you could compare them to the other best headphones out there like Sony or Bose. Idk if it would make sense since it’s a completely different price range but if you find some similarities, you can also compare them to like 100€ headphones for example Soundcore or others. Love your videos!!
I love you guys! I’m not even in the market for headphones. I have AirPods Max. Haven’t watched your channel in a bit, but I was just scrolling through my subscriptions and saw 2 separate videos on these Sonos headphones, (MKBHD and Unbox therapy) unbox was B.S. I’m so glad that y’all are still committed to the truth and being plain honest with your reviews! I’ve always lived y’all’s channel! Keep it up legends! Cheers!
Meh - whatever headphones people invested in (Sony, Apple, Bose, etc.), are what they’ll swear is best. Nobody wants to regret their investment 😂 And they’ve always “owned them all, trust me.”
Wouldn't surprise me if this is probably, if not, one of the only real review for this product and even more informative just from this short alone. (EDIT: I say "probably" because I have have not tried these out, and the shops that will let me try them will only play a demo track so I think the only way I can form a real opinion from myself is if I own one, or if anyone I know just so happens to have it. It's just that the "reviews" of these I've seen so far felt more like an advertisement, very vague with how it sounds "has plenty of punch and sounds bright without it being overpowering" etc)
All subjective…. I find they’re the best NC for the airplane. Apple cannot be the only expensive, no case having, short battery life, heavy AF, no power button headphone. They swung and did not hit a homer. But let’s not forget they all use the same drivers so software can change the sound with updates.
Looking forward to the review. I've had the ACE since Monday and I'm surprised by the statement regarding the sound. I compared it to the Bose Ultra and XM5 and find the Sonos better! Cleaner sound and bigger soundstage! PS: with iPhone + Apple Music
@@DHRME Yes, they might not be as fun-oriented as Bose or Sony, but they are still more balanced. Especially acoustic or rock music sounds much nicer, and the separation of instruments is very good. Enjoy testing them!💪
The Ace can sound good to the average consumer who thinks more bass = better sound. To a discerning ear like DHRME they'll sound hideous, because you're missing so many details in the music because of the overpowering and muddy bass. Sony is similar out of the box, but at least Sony drivers are great and comes with a five band eq + bass slider, allowing you to easily tweak it to sound great. The Sonos, meanwhile, comes with two sliders that don't even change the sound signature too much.
@@Mrappbrain966 Interesting, I find them less bass-heavy than the Sony ones. 🤷🏻♂️...but I love the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 as well, which wasn't praised quite as much here.
@@alexander_hroI agree with the Sony XM4 and earlier sounding worse out of the box, but the strength of those headphones has always been their features and customisability, while the Sonos are quite lacking in that regard. You can EQ the XM5 to sound better than the Airpods Max, not so the Sonos.
I got these too. I got issues connecting to the phone too. But I disagree entirely on the sound. It's absolutely fantastic and worth the money. Easily better than a wireless Bowers and Wilkins PX7 I have around for comparison.
You may not realize it but the fact that you own them will trick you I to thinking they sound better than they actually do. It's called the sunk cost fallacy. I listened to them, and I thought they sounded better than the guy in this video, but he's correct that the sound isn't worth the price.
Not sure you understand how the psychology of buying stuff works. I don't care if it doesn't match a reviewer's appreciation for a graph. It sounds fantastic, and I own and have listened to other reference points in the price bracket. The sunk cost fallacy doesn't matter, I don't regret buying it, and you know what? The connectivity issues were fixed in a software update. I say to the everyone reading for whatever reasons: try it, and buy it if you like it. Audiophile reviews are a cult.
thats odd, no where on my packaging when i received it stated it was made for iphone and ios.. it says its compatible with iphone and ios. And offers lossless audio for android on packaging
I just got them too. Started with a movie and some episodes of the office and Black Matter… everything went very well. They were connected to my PC and my iPhone, very good connection with both… Now… music… TERRIBLE. I tested them with blue tooth, by the 3.5 to USBC cable directly to the PC, using a DAC and nothing worked out. The only music these are good for might be instrumental songs with few instruments. The sound is like he said, congested and very warm. After some “equalization” it improved say… 10%. So, good for movies and voices (conferences or video calls), TERRIBLE for music.
Probably the best and most honest review of this shifty headphone on the internet. Sonos really spent tons of money on sponsoring those media and youtubers.
I have it connected to my android. You can adjust using the EQ. I love it It sounds excellent and the bass is perfect. I have airpod max and Sony xm5 ,I like SONOS the most
