Mine arrived and works great except for the known issue. The LCD display flex cable is broken. I have ordered a replacement today and have removed the broken flex cable. Was able to connect a small 5 inch FPV monitor which has AV in and use that as a viewfinder for now. Also interesting the remote from my Sony DCR-HC3 HDV handycam works with the IP1E and even has extra controls for VTR recording from external sources like another camera etc.
Oh nice! I had one with a broken screen flex cable also, these small cables really do seem to be the main issue i have with most of these camcorders. Interesting that you can access more controls with that different remote!
Yes these and most other Sony miniDV and some Video 8 Handycams need all the ribbon cables reseated. I fixed my Sony DCR-PC1000E the same had tape loading error.
Hi, unfortunately I haven't heard of this issue before so I cannot give much advice since there could be multiple reasons for this issue. For example, the ribbon cable could simply be loose. In this video I fixed this camcorder from turning on and immediately shutting off (due to a loose ribbon cable) however these camcorders can be extremely difficult to fix so I cannot recommend opening these devices up. I will post another comment if I find a simple fix for this issue.
@@AlexanderR0623 I have found the flexi cable for it on aliexpress. It is doable according to a guy on fixya. He replaced his ok but this was in 2009. Unless sony will do the repair which I doubt I'll have to try myself. Now even the bleeps i use to get are not heard so hope it is only this problem
Hi, this is definitely worth a try, I didn't realize those parts would still be sold online. I have had a look at the screen assembly and it is also worth reseating the connections since there is one single ribbon cable that connects both the speaker and display, this cable is shown at 2:54 in the video (the second cable) and as it happens is right next to the ribbon cable that was loose on my camcorder also. However, like you say there could be more than one issue so the screen flexi cable is worth replacing, I would on the other hand test for these loose connections before replacing the flexi cable to 100% rule it out. Hope this helps.
@@AlexanderR0623 HI again, in the end I got Sony to fix my 1e plus I have another now both in mint condition. one was only used for about an hour the seller told me. Haw you managed to get video with yours into Windows 10 or 11 using Sony vegas pro 11 I wonder ? According to Techmoan this software works fine. You need a certain combination of leads and adapters though
Have you still got your ip1e ? If so can you try getting it working with Sony vegas pro 11 ? Techmoan has done so but he doesn't explain clearly how exactly ! I have vegas 11 the correct lead etc but my ip1e just will not work with it
Hi, I do still have it yeah, I can give it a go when I'm able to, I'll make a video if I get it working :) Are you using Firewire btw? Just making sure since many think the USB port can be used for capturing footage from the cassette.
@@digitalmediafan Hi, I couldn't really help with the adapters I'm afraid since the laptop I use has a firewire port. The easiest method I know of would be to use the AV cable and purchase a AV capture device (found on places like amazon etc), although the quality won't be as good of course. Micro MV camcorders are known for not working with many editing applications so I use older hardware and the software that was specifically made for it (movieshaker 3.1).
@@AlexanderR0623 No No I don't need the adapters but you might ! I am thinking of starting a facebook group for this camcorder. There is another guy on youtube who has it working fine with Windows 10 and Pinnacle Studio btw
Hi, yes you can use this camera with just a memory stick duo, while the memory stick is good for taking pictures with, the video resolution and fps are extremely poor especially when compared to that with the micro-mv cassettes. While this camera is not the same model, the video resolution and fps should be the same: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JMDvWpkssVs.html.
