Brandon Mccaghren of 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu in Decatur Alabama shares one of the craziest and most elaborate of the Rubber Guard submissions, The Sorcerer.
As wild and unorthodox as this may seem, it’s actually not that unrealistic if you’re already a heavy rubber guard player.
This move requires serious flexibility and dexterity, so if you can’t get it right away, don’t worry!

You gotta watch out for them 10th Planet styled player man. They're so unorthodox, you gotta be real explosive but yet patient at the same time with them. And by that I mean, have patience before making a move, and once you get the opportunity, then explode, cus they don't give u much of a window. Once u fuck up, it's practically over.

Why is it so hard to get on competition? It looks incredibly hard to escape but my guess is that to get to break the posture so hard and get to that position would imply very big mistakes from your opponent, plus it seems you could go for a much easier armbar or gogoplata from the same position

I feel like you ve basically defined the 10th planet style: extremely flashy moves that could work but that are surpassed by far more basic and old school bjj

@@franciscofalabella4644 you would think. But sometimes you HAVE to be in gaurd. And no traditional BJJ person wants to be in a 10th planet guys gaurd.

Yeah you could definitely use this in gi. I mean it’s a rare position and you’re gonna need some deep rubber guard knowledge to pull it off, plus some particular attributes. But is it possible? Oh yeah definitely. I can do it. I’m just a regular dude, so you could probably pull it off.

I've been working your videos and stuff in my "all gi all the time" gym for quite some time and get really close sometimes but then I just go away from it for awhile because we basically only learn tournament gi stuff... but I would LOVE LOVE to pull some of this off someday, lol! I get mission control and chill dog occasionally when rolling but thats usually as far as it goes... ( a couple gogo platas every now and then ) but the sorcerer would be SWEET!!!!

I love training in the Gi but I’ve encouraged my friends that want to spend more time doing nogi to make the change. I had a friend that completely switched gyms to a 10p and I couldn’t be more happy for him

This is one of the worst submissions to be in in competition. Not sure there is an escape just multiple setups. The double back makes impossible to posture up and if you lift your head your in the gogoplatta armbar kinda have to grab that leg which he grabs your arm and this is the end. Ref should stop it as soon as the 2nd leg goes over the head. As if the applier isn't careful hell break his arms and seriously hurt him with not much pressure. Its literally a put the pet there and hold if guy feels gangsta slight pressure he going tap...
