The Sorceress - Händel (Kiri te Kanawa, Christopher Hogwood) 

The interpretation of the Sinfonia from Amadigi 12:40 is second to none! The music, the costumes and the dancers are perfect. I fell in love with this show first time I saw it on German TV 1996.

The costume are incredible, the stage design is incredible above the orchestra. The wigs are just fantastic .... Has anyone noticed these as well?

when I was 10 years old heard her the first time live, her voice has so much presents and until this very day I like her interpretation of any aria always the most.

Thank you for uploading Hupjeflupje. I saw this on Dutch television more than 20 years ago....... Great music, costumes & dancing of the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam I recorded it on VHS but accidentally cleared the video! :( I still hope that one day it will be available on DVD!

There's a fabulous aria from "Amadigi" at 27:00 which reveals Handel's mastery of orchestrating the human voice with musical instruments, especially the tenor horn.

I know this one!! ;-) it's actually a modern "pasticcio", something quite common in those times, Recipe: 1 singer, 1 small orchestra, couple of best arias (nevermind whose, no copyright issues) together with some overtures as interludes, shake it until harmonically well combined, and serve with or without a story line... I don't know who cooked this one, but he/she followed line by line!

A feast for the eyes and ears, wonderful production . Never seen The Sorceress before . Kiri is fantastic, pity Handel didn't write vocal parts for the other characters .

at the 6:28 mark Tu la mia stella sei from Giulio Cesare is the aria. i know Handel uses them over. what opera did it play first?
