Yes! Melbourne, Victoria. Also very happy to find this recording available on iTunes and have it on my random playlist. Love when this song comes on while driving.
I’m 75 and grew up with this song; I’ve listened to the original hundreds of times and many different covers as well. I have to say, this is the best cover of the song I have ever heard. The vocals are beautiful, the background music subdued as it should be, and the delivery is perfect. The song is performed here exactly in the spirit that it was written. Great stuff; thanks for posting.
When I was kid growing up in a small village from South Viet Nam. I remember back then in the early 2000s, we had a 14 inch uncolored TV, the TV station stop broadcasting after 11pm, then they have like an intro for the next day's program while this song playing in the background. I didn't knowing what it was, but it sounded really nice. Fast forwad when I grow up and a friend shared me this song, all of the sudden all the childhood memory came back to me, now every time I listen to this song I got a very special feeling I don't know how to describe it, I just feel like it carved deep intro my heart and I'm gonna live with it for the rest of my life.
This is the song that changed my whole life! I'm Japanese and heard this song when I was in high school. I got so interested in the lyric of this song and started to study English. Now I'm over 60 and have been teaching how to speak English to Japanese for over 30 years. Thank you S&G. Your are my eternal heroes!!!
It's a beautiful song and here is another artist, Dana Winner, and her version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BXuveostQaQ.html&start_radio=1&t=86 And one more, by Disturbed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bk7RVw3I8eg.html
Ivan, am 62 and me also, when I was a kid and went to see the movie 'the graduate', this song impressed me to such an extent that even today, am learning to play this song on my guitar.
A gentle and a sweet, innocent soul can come from any place, any background. It is the nature of the soul and it cannot really change on the inside. A soul like this may come to believe the tauntings of the circumstances in life, and of the people who created those circumstances, with only memories of the true reflection of who it (the soul) really is. The downfall begins when a beautiful soul starts to believe that it is not beautiful.”
CAN ONLY SAY OUTSTANDING ! THE BEST COVER I HAVE EVER HEARD ! IM 60 NOW AND GREW UP WITH THESE CLASSICS BUT NONE BETTER THAN THIS COVER ! ! I WOULD THINK BOTH THESE GREAT VOCALIST S MUST HAVE GONE ON TO WONDERFUL CAREERS !! MAKES ME CRY JUST OUTSTANDING !! THANK YOU GUYS !! MICHAEL IN MELBOURNE
I have grown up listening to this hit song and even sung it with friends during occasions. Now l am 64 years old and still wanting to listen. l love this cover.
In my opinion, this is one of if not the best interpretation of this song I ever had the pleasure to listen to, their voices match very well. His is an excellent contrast to hers and they both deliver the words with so much heart and emotion, beautiful.
Wow! This is one of my favorite songs! What a beautiful rendetion. It refreshes my memories of the early 70s when I was a teenager. It was the time when my life was not yet complicated and all I want then was to enjoy life.
No one these days does the harmony like you both did. Kudos for that alone,, but you nailed it so gracefully!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing this video.. Gives me faith in true musicians. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So much times I've heard this song. But this cover goes really in my heart. I'm overwhelmed from this 'sound of silence'. Dreams come true - thank you so much!
Am 70 in a few months and have lost track how many times I listen to the original song by S&G and other versions. Every time it touches my soul. It has meaningful message to the world to all generations. Am so glad that these 2 young people extremely do justice to the song with their soulful rendition. The beautiful talented young girl sung from depth soul and harmonize nicely by the equally talented young man. Best version so far. Congratulations to both of you. Imagine if we use the God given to good use not necessarily in song but other aspect. This world will be a better place to live. Love begets love. Claim and live it.
just listened to this 5 years down the road, and I'm completely bowled over, what a fantastic rendition, almost perfect, superb ! Hats off to you both, love it. X
@@TherealDaveL A lot of video editing and audio mixing gone in to the disturbed version, and the guy’s screaming by the end of the song. How beautiful was this simple live rendition done in situ? I guess it just goes to show what we already know, that taste is entirely subjective. I’ll listen to this version a few times a year until I die, but I won’t be listening to the Disturbed version again any time soon.
@@wattlebough 9 million views for this mediocre cover, 765million views for Disturbed's masterpiece, I think that tells you which is the better version.
How sad that todays young people don't have music like this. How glad I am that I was born in 1950 and grew up the best music this world will ever hear. It had a message that is lacking in today's music. Electronic noise by malcontents. I miss the positive messages.
He has a beautiful harmonizing voice and his part is more difficult to sing than the lead melody of her voice. They both have wonderful voices and compliment each other.
The girl had a very unusual whispering soul sound that touched me. And the boy's harmonizing so complemented her. Very, very beautiful. These should be a great success.
I'm 51 and I wasn't born when this song was released, but, as soon as I heard it and understood the significance and beauty of this great song, I have loved it and always will. Timeless classics never fade.
53 years ago this song is still strong and beautiful..... a classic , just like me..... 53 years old 😀😀 the song and me share the same Birthday.... 😀😀😀😀
Amazing harmonization between their two beautiful voices. Great plucking and gentle orchestration. Heavenly interpretation of one of the best all-time classics.
I have lost track of how many times I have listened to this. This was my time, the time of Green Owsley and California Dreaming. These two sing what Simon and Garfunkle were reaching for but couldn't quite catch. This is the archetype. She is the muse incarnate.
I never listened to music on You Tube before, but a few days ago while trying to find out who sang a particular song I enjoy, I came across the video of these two young people singing "Sounds of Silence", how humbling and relaxing it was to hear their rendition of a sound that has been around decades before they were born. I think the one thing that really caught my imagination and my ear was the subtle introduction of the guitar in the background. First time I've noticed an addition uch as this to the song, and for me it really works. So my quest for later today is to locate a disc with them singing and see if everything else is as Golden as "Sounds of Silence" . Absolutely beautiful and for what it's worth, they now have a new fan.
Simon and Garfuncel sang that song beautifully. Your rendition is also beautiful because you didn’t try to alter the song to suit your ego like so many other cover artists. You paid great respect to S&G and to the song. I hope you have a great career in music. Beautiful.
I have always felt a deep connection to Paul Simon's music, this interpretation by these two talented people is exceptional, thanks for your art, Mark.
That makes two of us! I miss my mom terribly ..she was the best friend I ever had and she was not appreciated for all that she did for us. The story and many mothers I suppose!
I always listen to this song when im going through something n it actually soothes my mind ...it helps me calm..2024 n still running to this masterpiece everytime❤️
EVERY time I hear this and listen to the unmatched lyrics, as a writer, I’m blown away by Paul Simon, what the hell? lyrics like that are just…..incredible.
I played this original song in my car on 8-track tapes back in the late 60's. Love All of Paul Simon songs but I have to say this cover is Perfectly done. When i want to listen to this song, this is the version I listen to.
Grew up on Simon & Garfunkel (along with a lot of other music!). This is an excellent cover of this song. I still hear Garfunkel's high voice soaring over Simon's. Still a solid composition even after a lifetime of years.
In 72 also loved it back then as well us old guy's and dolls just love all u guys r doing with music from our generation. We hear all our lives every thing comes back around as in clothes etc and now music thanks to all u so intelligent kids of today. Ur the best
An amazing rendition of an amazing song. Like others, I’m a product of the 60’s and have heard this song too many times to count but the harmony here ( I love harmony) is perfect. I’m sure Paul Simon enjoyed hearing this version. They did him proud.
Simply stunning, Emma Louise has an amazing voice and is beautiful, their voices perfectly complement each other, my favourite cover by far, I can't stop watching it.
The drums made this song better! I never thought this song was ever good til I read the lyrics then I realized how much poetry made this song beautiful! 😍😎❤️
Truly great!!! Love the melody love their rhythm, their voices!! This guy's voice is really great and very interesting! Great work guys thank you very much!
Like Larry Beavens below, i'm also 75 and grew up with this song. It was the first record i bought for a girlfriend. These two young people are not Simon and Garfunkel - but my goodness, they do a very good version of the song. Well done, them! That guitar accompaniment is spot-on.
Just beautiful. I love the way she closed her eyes - creating a mystery and subtle beauty. I loved the way she moved - feet planted firmly, but her body moved around like a rag doll. Truely captivating!

One of the top 10 songs of al time. I was born 4 yrs after its release but it certainly guided my musical preferences even to this today. If you’re looking for an odd version listen to Disturbeds version. They are a metal rock band but surprisingly have a beautiful rendition performed with such emotion.
