you know what would be a wild twist? instead of the "nightmares" being nightmares, the therapy sessions are the things that arent real, an attempt by the monsters to keep noone unaware for extended periods of time
Let's hope he was just in the dream stages of his trip to the Nowhere and woke up safe in his room... Based on how we hear about his limp body under the Guest's arm, I kinda doubt that... Poor kid 😔
@kytzia2524 Ik getting eaten by six or corrupted by the thin man is bad, but like used raw as a sponge with a man with guts pouring out ...ya doesn't sound most pleasent
THEORY TIME!!! In my last post on Chapter 1, I said that the mystery child was most likely a character we have seen before like Six or Mono, but now with the inclusion of Jester, it seems all of these children are from elsewhere in the real world, sharing dreams with Noone. It’s also odd that we’re explicitly told that other children have had this exact dream in the past and have put boards down to walk across, permanently affecting the landscape. It’s as if the dreams are a world of their own that these children are simply traveling to and then traveling home, rather than just fantasies with no physical presence whatsoever. The Ferryman, who most theorists believed was simply a man who caught children to bring to the Maw, seems to be the one behind all of these dreams. Perhaps he steals the children from these dreams and takes them to the Maw, which exists inside of Noone’s mind? We can’t really speculate that much about him until we know more, but we know he has a connection to the mysterious Celia from Otto’s past. The way Otto offers Noone a sweet before saying “sweets for my sweet” each session is very clearly a motif the writers are establishing and repeating, and in the words of Otto himself, “repetition implies significance.” Maybe the sweets are some kind of hypnotic induction that create the nightmares? I find it odd that Otto would give sweets to a child struggling with nightmares when sugar before bed tends to stimulate the imagination and cause bad dreams. Something tells me this Otto guy has some skeletons in his closet.
@@Ibs69420 That actually is a really cool theory. Not only based on the fact that we know the podcast takes place here in the UK, but also because it’s been implied in the past that the Ferryman is the one who brings children to the Maw. We know that Celia has been involved with the Ferryman, it’s not a far fetch to assume that Celia was taken to the Maw where she became the Six we know today. I’ve also seen somebody else point out that there will be six episodes of this podcast, so maybe that suggests it’s her backstory?
I think that these aren't all in noones mind but Noone is just 1 of many having them like they're all stepping into this nightmare reality as is they were marked. Maybe ceci died due to dying in the nightmare
The fishes from the sea mentioned at the start already gave me the vibe of the Maw, and also the guests at the bathhouse. But i think the most horrifying thing that is happening is the behavioural change of Otto, he is getting more and more attracted to the idea of finding out why his sister and Noon dreamed about the same ferryman
Did anyone else hear the lady's theme in the background when Otto started talking about the hypnotherapy? That has to mean something. Oooh in the soundtrack for the first game, that music is called "Hypnosis", could it have some significance?? :0
Weird. Last episode he sounded weirded out by the idea of calling children by numbers, in this episode, he stopped himself from calling noone a number and called her by her name, noone. Also, small note, there's specifically 6 episodes, which could mean something, could not.
The fact that this episode seems to reference the guests marching onto the Maw in Little Nightmares 1, the ocean, the Ferryman as the “melting face” could be a reference to his shapeshifting ability, as well as aspects learned from the Little Nightmares 3 trailer like the them of broken mirrors and a “Spiral”.
"Sweets for my sweet" that cannot be a coincidence when its been repeated. And we know Otto had someone close to him called "Cece" who had similar if not the exact same nightmares as Noone. He could be seeing Cece in Noone which is only fueling his need to figure out what's going on and to help Noone! Before she befalls the same unknow fate as Cece
I thought it was obvious that those sweets are actually some kind of drugs that caused the children to have these nightmares. Like he's actually the one causing the problems, perhaps experimenting on these children for the sake of Cece, instead of helping them. But idk just my theory.
@@Scarecrowwx it’s not spoiling it because you can’t see it that’s why it’s a audio book what I’m saying is what she is talking about has a lot to do with the trailer
I feel like... Noone is becoming more twisted every single time she mentions her nightmares, for Example: at the end of her 2nd nightmare (this chapter), she used the white chemical to kill the monster and when she did, she felt satisfied like a murderer would. so i feel in the end of this broadcast she will turn into one, and the fact that the Counseller calls her "my sweet" might be that the candys shes eating are making her more monstrous, NOT that i think the Counseller/Otto is a bad guy, after all he does try to uncover what this mysterious figure that appears every nightmare.
This Little Nightmares podcast is crazy! And, so is the fact that Superhorrorbro actually helped make this part of it! I'm already looking forward to listening to part 3 when it comes out.
The whole bathhouse situation reminds me a lot of having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, that it's never enough, you're always worried you're unclean both literally and figuratively, and you must constantly "clean" yourself but it's never enough. I don't know if it was an intentional metaphor or inspiration, but it certainly spoke to me, having OCD myself.
That could be it! Nice theory! I think that the guests have done so many horrible things, that they need to "wash" themselfs COMPLETLEY clean... But.. They.. Cant..
It's crazy how much they speak of moths in the start….. I had an actual dream shortly after playing the first game that included them. A room of moth engravings and in the center a butterfly drawing made from eyes. I identified that moths gather to the light like the guests flocking the Maw, and butterflies, a single one, like Six, was stuck against her will, adapting at her own pace while being scrutinized by everyone aboard. Although they take different forms, they yearn and hunger for the same thing, light. During a further point in my dream, at the pinnacle of the behemoth vessel, Six had reached the Captain's Quarters. (I found it interesting that we never saw the captain and I would imagine “The Captain” as someone similar to how Six was a butterfly - trapped) She was blinded and almost paralyzed by the amount of sunlight penetrating this section of the Maw as she haphazardly stumbled into a shadow where she fully opened her eyes. There at the wheel was The Captain. She only saw up to his waist…..It was then, shortly after she gained her footing, that The Captain recognized Six as an opponent and challenged her without warning. The waves crashed against the bobbing deck of the Maw as the two scrambled for salvation. I didn't see the victor of the fight (probably for my own good) but even if I wanted to (I did) my dream interrupted it with an almost cinema level pan to their shadows puppeting atop of a detailed painting. The painting depicted a small ship with a massive nondescript body lunging out of the water towards it. It was a Japanese sea spirit that…… Its eyes had a blank expressionless stare in the direction of the ship before swiftly and eerily piercing into the audience. Cut to darkness. Then I awoke, submerged in sweat. ( I tried drawing this dream but never finished, this episode definitely inspired me to finish :D )
@@chaosthebaryonyx6344 Wow really? It's been a while since I finished LN2 but I had this dream even before the sequel came out. I feel like there were also moths in a jar in the science class/storage room but I can't remember.
I hate to break it to you, but I think you’re being slowly transported the the Little Nightmares world and one night you’ll be stuck. We all wish you luck 😂
I think Ceecee is a nickname that Otto used for his daughter. Her real name might be Cecilia. Also found this in google Apparently Cecil not only means blind in latin, it also means six in welsh. Maybe theres a connection to Ceecee and Six? Doubt but eh. 🤷♀️ Edit: Cecil does not mean six in welsh but it's kinda connected to it! The reply thats bellow me corrected me.
Six in Welsh is chwech. Cecil is derived from Seissylt which does mean sixth child, but not a direct translation of the number six itself. ^w^ It is a fun theory though, and could be right. Just wanted to point that out. Source: I'm Welsh lol
I'm thinking that maybe these nightmares are trying to take the children into the Little Nightmares world. The children Noone finds in her nightmares are children who have fallen prey to these nightmares, just as the other children from the Little Nightmares franchise have found themselves in the horrible world of Little Nightmares.
@@user-nm1lx8qb3udid you watched Nightmare on Elm Street, Silent Hill or The Evil Within? If yes then i can Tell you 2 Theorys: They are stuck in this World Doomed Forever to be Part of it OR they die in Reality too
@user-nm1lx8qb3u Well, I think death would most likely be the way they get transported into the Little Nightmares world. This is obviously an prediction, but I'd assume (and based off of my theory) Ceecee is one of the many victims of the Nightmares, and considering the way the Counselor talks about Ceecee suggests that she either died or went missing (and most people gone missing for a long period of time are considered deceased).
She makes mention of “being here to long” with jester, then says how she now feels like a moth that enjoys the darkness. And notice how when she finished the dream she said she “returned to this copy”
I can't believe super horror bro wrote this! I just finished watching his video announcing that he wrote this episode before finishing it, it was really good.
I feel bad for all those poor children... but Jester's fate was especially disturbing for me. Being used as a sponge sounds comical... but it was actually incredibly upsetting... RIP Jester, you will be remembered.
Crazy theory, but what if all of Little Nightmares actually takes place in this alternate world/dimension where the nightmares of different children all connect together in one big twisted reality.
Exactly! I just wrote a comment about that on the first chapter! Yes this podcast, let’s say, takes place in our world while the nightmares take place in the world where the games take place in. And if you remember the painting, Otto says that it represents time and space meaning that the Signal tower is bringing children’s wandering minds into the nightmare world which would explain why that the adults don’t care for them and are always trying to kill them. That isn’t the real world, the world this story takes place in is. And the candle man is the Thin man because he is constantly watching and overseeing the dreams. You can back to the first chapter and look at the newest comments to find mine with more details
Ikr… this is like taking the cliche “it was all a dream” conclusion and then twisting it into a completely different and original/non-cliche conclusion!
@@skrappothemonster1436It could also be the wax bellman also. Notice the wax part of his name. His face is all saggy and meltted-like, like candel wax would do.
These are all the things I noticed and some theories I have 4:18 Signal Tower????? 5:35 100% sounds like the guests Noone is definitely much more excited to share about her nightmares. 13:32 Candleman seems VERY similar to the Wax Bellman Also Jester’s screams were genuinely really disturbing
The Candleman is actually another old character from LN called The Ferryman. Look for him and you'll notice that he looks exactly as Noone describes it
@@agusnicoletti3051I thought that at first but I think it’s the Wax Bellman because Noone describes his face as like melting wax Edit: I didn’t realize Otto directly says Ferryman my bad
These two podcast episodes made me beginning to think of the animated movie about Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme of 2007. Whatever the blob-like entity with multiple eyes in the Signal Tower is doing with the children who are having the nightmare disorders, it was basically doing what Dormammu was doing to the children in the movie with the ultimate goal of coming out to the human world and make it part of the Dark Dimension. While its goal remained a mystery for now, the idea of its desire to come and conquer the human world is not out of possibility.
This "Doctor" Otto scares me. There is obviously something insidious about the candy he offers. "Sweets for my sweet" Did you know sugar causes nightmares if you eat them before bed? The way he seems to care more about the nightmares than helping the child. He got aggressive. Forceful even.
I wonder if this chapter and the first are canon. Even so this is really cool for people willing to listen to this. As it’s not required to understand the up coming game LN3 or even the past games LN, LN2, and VLN. Even so I wonder if the nightmares we see really are just in the heads of the kids. But I highly doubt it. I think everything happening is in fact real. I hope it is at least.
It's all canon. She is seeing glimpses of the Nowhere, the world from all previous games. The people she encounters in there are not from her own world, but they're still very real. Of course, this is only episode 2, so we don't know how all those children (like Mono and Six) end up in there permanently. The child Otto talked about briefly is said to have dissapeared, so I guess that's what happens when you get stuck in Nowhere.
this is the best podcast ive ever listened to its unique and it came from my favorite videogame of all time i absolutely love this podcast can't wait for episode 3
It’s weird that he calls whoever this Cece is “My Cece” and as people point out he assigns Noone by name not a number… also the “Sweets for My sweet” is very eerie and shows his fascination of Noone is growing unhealthy like his fascination of Cece, which is concerning 😕
I love Little Nightmares. I've played every single game in the series, read the comics, indulged in every theory and fan labour I could find, it's just my jam. Yet while thrilling, at times terrifying, I've never once been truly horrified by the world presented. Hearing Jester's fate was the first time I felt fear.
I have a theory about the two podcasts: The first one was about the little nightmares 3 world with the cogs and the factory and her talking about the walls and the man with the droopy face staring at her could have been The Ferryman and the walls that were moving are just like the mushy walls from the viewers deceased bodies being taken by the signal tower in little nightmares 2 to create this revolting monster. The other podcast talks about big fishing nets to capture fish, this is just like the big fishing nets in the maw concept art and the plump men and women with their faces hiding behind masks must be the guests as when they are walking up to the maw from the ship you can see masks on their faces and also when Noone talks about the candleman and melting wax on his face, we already know Noone is talking about The Ferryman What SuperHorrorBro Mike has written makes me think about the podcast even more in every little detail that Otto or Noone say and what Noone talks about in her dreams makes me think that mono and six and not actually evil just in a dream since when Noone talks about her dreams they feel like the things we have seen in the little nightmares storyline. This is an amazing podcast and I can't wait to see more podcasts and little nightmares games in the future. Mike you continue to amaze us with new videos and little nightmares explained videos and i can't wait to see more of them in the future and see the games full potenital in 2024 Thank you Bandai Namco and SuperMassive Games for continuing the franchise with Little Nightmares 3.
In the intro Otto says that Noone's description of the monster fits that of the "Ferryman", so this implies that that's what she's describing. Though this also means that Otto is somehow familiar with the Nowhere.
I love when they get fans of the little nightmares games like super horror bro (who ive been watching since before he played little nightmares 1 for the first time) and i just find that cool aint gonna like 😊
If you like this, you'd definitely love The Magnus Archives podcast. (If you haven't already heard it). It's also very horror themed with various genres of horror, and a consistent storyline.
The way this is recorded reminds me of old radio shows, almost feels nostalgic of listening to recordings with my gram, even if she wouldn't have listened to anything like this
This was absolute Horror. What happened to Jester sounded like a child s3xual assault that Noone witnesses and was unable to stop, so horrible it was that I had to leave it for awhile. I can't think of much that's more horrific. And then... Not any other mention of him... Forgotten. Even more of a horror. I guess that was the point. 😭😣💔💔
Of all the fates children have met in the Nowhere, being killed, being eaten, being turned into Shadow Kids or Nomes, being enslaved, being corrupted... none of them have been as horrible as being used as a sponge. Little Nightmares exists for the sole purpose of messing with our emotions and I respect that.
I still can’t believe that this chapter was co-written by SuperHorrorBro! He’s literally my all-time favorite RU-vidr. This is such a big step for him. I’m proud of that!
Way to tell a story Super horror bro mike! I have to say tho the part of these stories that give me the deepest chills are the end story words from Otto. Sweets for my sweet. Oof it goes perfectly into the music
I wonder if any of the things mentioned in the podcast will actually be sequences/levels in LN3... seems like something interesting to think about :) Also rip my boi Jester he didn't deserve that spongey fate 😔
Heres my theory on what's happening on chapter 2. *First off, important information:* - This is Noon's fourth session of speaking to Otto. - Ferryman was introduced. - Noon doesn't seem to like talking about her parents. - This time, it seems like Noon awoke on the Pale City? *The Story:* Ferryman is a entity present among these "Dreams" as Otto states CiCi had encountered him as well. I've seen some people saying Otto might be a bad person, but im still not 100% sure on that, he never forced Noon to say anything, and even when Noon was talking about her nightmares, he still wanted to make sure Noon was comfortable whilst talking about them. Noon on the other hand, seems to be more open about talking about her nightmares, interrupting otto whilst he'd spoke: Otto: *"If you like then i'd suppos-"* Noon: *"I woke to wet air on a rooftop.."* This could also be of course, because in every session Noon talks about her nightmares. Noon met a kid whose stated seems to be nicknamed "Jester" by other kids, this also implies that most of the kids know each other and have some sort of group. Noon also met the Ferryman. Otto has a hypnotic device that seems to help children remember certain things in their nightmares. Interesting that whilst he used it to help Noon remember, the lady's theme begun playing, perhaps they're connected? When it comes to the Ferryman, Otto really wants to know more about him. Noon seems to firmly believe there's something inside of her, Otto argues otherwise. I have no idea who the merchant is. Jester got used as a soap bar. Noon killed a monster through the use of a mysterious liquid, and felt good about it. Noon also doesn't agree with the experiments, but in hope that it'll help her with her nightmares, she agrees with it. *Conclusion:* I find it interesting how throughout this whole chapter, Moths were of great significance, alongside with themes of light and dark, i wonder what that could mean. Otto keeps repeating "Sweets for my sweet." that line is very ominous. whilst giving Noon the choice of what colorful candy to pick from his jar. I believe these candies are making it so Noon is put to sleep and it probably facilitates Noon reaching the in-between.
The ferryman? Perhaps Ln is just a world that can be visited by children when they sleep, it seems the Ferryman is the one thing that children who visit this world often meet, it was first Six, now Noone, and it now turns out that the Ferryman has visited the counselors “Suzy” I believe he said. Either way this storytelling is incredible!
But now makes me wonder, what happens to the children who sleep if something happens to them in the LN World? Six lost her Soul creating the shadow Six, Mono became the Thinman, and the runaway kid was eaten after taking the form of a Nome. Do they die in the real world as well?
I've just watched episode one and now this one, and its REALLY GOOD!! I mean, It really makes you use your imagination in the story, and I love that in audio stories like this. If there is a chance that Six or mono might appear in the future episodes, I will me curious to know what voices they decided for them. Maybe Noone might meet one of them or both of them in her dream. Overall I am in love with this podcast so far! Im looking forward to learn more of this story! Also, SuperHorrorBro, if your reading this, I am a huge fan of your channel and I loved what you wrote for this episode! AMAZING JOB!!
@@craz2580I think it's ottos daughter rather than his sister. He refers to her as Cece which is a nickname for Celia and Celia in Welsh is chwech which means six
Death by... As lufa..... That's a new and oddly violent death I'm not going to lie. Don't know if I want to laugh at the absurdity or squirm at the nature of it. Love it, this episode was a absolute banger.
Theories for this episode: going back to my previous post in the first chapter I do believe that all the nightmares take place in another world and the therapy sessions take place in our world. The dream most likely took place in the Maw as Noone sees the guests and sees them uses Jester as a cleaner proving that the adults are not the regular adults we see in our world, plus they are bigger. The Maw is also a hotel as there are dining rooms and shops and bathrooms everywhere this shows that the Maw is in fact a place where children’s minds are being transported from our world to the nightmare world via the signal tower. Speaking of the tower and Jester, another key fact here is dream sharing that Otto says, this could also confirm that Noone is in fact dreaming with other children as when Jester asks if she knows about a way out that shows that he is dreaming with her and others. The candle man is also very likely to be the Thin man as Noone describes him from the second game, this could possibly mean that he and the entity from the tower are watching the children for unknown reasons. After the child has had a nightmare that they begin to think that they are being infected by the evil from the nightmare when in fact they are not, it’s just a hallucination. They are not real. The main goal is that the tower and the Thin man are killing them by slowly driving them insane which could’ve very well have happened to Otto’s sister meaning that this has gone on for decades.
the ferryman. i tried to draw him from her description. then i thought to reread the comics maybe someone would match him. and yeah he is the ferryman 100% saggy face like melting wax, long slits for eyes, long filthy jacked, fishing hat and he is a huuge man. 👍🏽
At first I wasn't sure about having the voices echo during the re-telling, but it actually does make it seem like we are watching the story as noone is re-telling it
What i imagine Noone looking like: A young girl 10 years old or younger, medium messy brown hair with white tips, wearing a hospital gown with stains on it, purple eyes, I also see her skin being tan. Probably 5foot 3inches or shorter What i imagine Otto looking like: a man with a height around 5foot 9inches & 6foot, very pale skin, wearing black glasses & a suit, blue eyes, ligh brown/ dark blonde hair. He is maybe in the end of his 20’s or starting his 30’s (thats about his age btw, i didnt know if that was clear)
I think this nightmare realm feeds on their souls or their innocence. Maybe forcing them to fight monsters grows a darkness in them as a way of replacing the light/innocence in them with a darkness. Maybe thats why six was changed. It seems like noones changing a bit too. The more time they spend in this place the more they start to lose themselves. In the first chapter noone mentions the workers and discribes them as shadows but compared them to children. Like the shadow children from the second game that mono collects. Noone says that she felt like a moth chasing the light and Auto hypnotized her. It makes me think about the second game with the viewers and the way they were enthralled with the tvs. Like maybe the objects, places, and maybe even some of the people are twisted versions of childrens memories of the real world. Like the nightmare realm is a mix of all the childrens nightmares into one. I also find it kind of strange Jester says he will remember the rest of the joke by the time they make it down. Otto tells her the rest of the joke at the end of the session. I also find it extremely creepy Otto says "a more intense personally rooted conflict this time. A desire perhaps to wash away memories of an invasive experience your anxiety is fixated on." The sounds poor Jester was making idk it felt like something else was going on there. The way he says Sweets for my sweet everytime. And the way he hypnotized her even though she said no. It also sounded like he started to breathe kind of heavy and weird there like the monsters do. Idk this one was the creepiest one yet. Also found it odd Noone says at the end "soon enough i was back here in the copy" ???
It’s cool that we get to see the world was normal before the signal drove everyone mad. But I swear if they say that all the games where just dreams I’ll really be pissed
Strongly agree, I can’t stand video game tropes like similar to something being a hallucination or its all in someones head. It’s overused and really takes away the emotion of characters and world building.
I feel like the dreams Noone is having are her stepping into this nightmare world. Like all these kids are stepping into nightmare worlds and either dying or becoming monsters and maybe the signal tower is trying to use them to break into new worlds to corrupt more things?
Honestly i think its both like the nightmares that the children have are turning into reality (Anyone feel like both otto and noone is changing?behavior wise?) noone mentions about spirals i dunno if its a coiencedence or intentional but the citezens of the pale city hav spiral like disfugured faces
@@mattianoob99 true they are similar both characters that we know very little about the ferryman kidnaps kids and brings them to the maw while the wax bellman we know even less about he looks like a bellhop
