Weirdly without any music at all and just the sounds of the environment that you usually wouldn't hear, is actually special. Shows they spent effort even on the little things.
yeah immersive sound design like this is super important for this kinda game, it really helps nail the feeling of just running around as Sonic through natural landscapes. great vid
Woah holy shit ! I never noticed Elder and Hermit Koco made jangle sounds too !! I always heard their talky noises, but not the percussion. That's awesome ! Thanks for showcasing all those sounds, what a mesmerizing experience. They say good sound design is when you don't even realize there's sound design, and it definitely holds true here. There was so much care put into this...
The sound desing in this game is really impressive And when I watched the video i was expecting it to have at least 10k views by how good it is. It really deserves way more views
I know this stuff has become standard in video games, but I really appreciate it. These things usually get underlooked especially in Sonic where you zoom through stages.
They definitely kept sounds from past modern sonic games. I hear 06, unleashed, etc. In most situations, this would be nit picked and be considered lazy, but these sounds are iconic and part of his character. Ya just can’t deny what works. Lol!
I really enjoy the sounds of frontiers. I love all the environmental sounds and the immersive feeling you get when playing. I love all the sounds each guardian makes either by purely existing or their attacks I like the sounds of all 3 tiitans (especially Wyvern) I like that the ring sound effect sounds nirmal again compared to how it sounded in forces I even like the lack of sound in cyberspace apart from the music and sound effects
Great vid! Love the clean transitions between the islands too! I did pick up on some ambience during the first IGN gameplay video, but after watching this, it made me go back and just walk around the islands without the music. The sound team really nailed creating an immersive environment! I can confirm that water footsteps is indeed satisfying
Came back to this after taking forever to play Sonic Frontiers- This is SUCH a wonderful highlight of what can get overlooked with a soundtrack playing on top of it. Not that there's anything wrong with the music, but sometimes you wanna taken a moment and forget where you're not. All the sounds matter~ Lookin' forward to other games you may cover on sound design!
