Wow, he was young then!!!!!!!! I'll be seeing him and Natalie Haas perform tonight in Denver. I have known him personally since I was just a wee thing. My mum knew him when I was but a bun in the oven. =] He has been my musical inspiration my whole life and a mentor to me.

We saw Alasdair and Natalie in Virginia in October 2018 and will see them again in Michigan in April 2019. Perennial favorites. We've been Alasdair's faithful Michigan groupies, following him when he's near our area, since 1991. There is nobody better. Some fiddlers can play faster and perhaps louder, but nobody can match his tone or his soul or his deep reverence for the instrument and its history and place in Scottish music.

I remember seeing Alistair play in Fiddle 2000 or was it 2001 in Edinburgh. He turned the entire audience into a set of drones for background to his playing. We all kept it up! What an evening.

haha holy shit how old is this vid? I ask because that s Wrigler on the pipes, and I saw him at the Dublin Irish fest like 5 years ago, and even then he didn't have that head of hair.
