Great video! It gave me another perspective on my work as a vcoiceover artist and podcast audio editor. Your view gave me another way of looking at how I got "in" (Fiverr and cheap high-quality gear) and the looming spectre of AI. And, to get theoretical, the contradictory tension between labour (bands, producers, engineers) and capital (studios, labels, et al.). Thanks!
I never understood it when people say amajor label swallows a small label. Unless somebody put a pistol at the small label's ass nobody commands the small label to sell.
@@SIBIRIAKcom could be for a few reasons: owner of a small label might’ve been quietly looking for a buyout all along, leaving their employees and artists to deal with whatever the new regime imposes after the sale. Small label could’ve been operating deep in debt and need the bailout, unbeknownst to employees and artists, despite outwardly seeming successful (this was common). Or a major could’ve offered a distribution/co-ownership deal far beyond what an indie could reach on their own, only to slowly creep in with more and more control (this became more of a thing when small record stores started disappearing and indie labels needed retail chain distribution).
I'm guilty of liking some AI songs to the point of listening to them again and again ......hate to admit it but some of it sounds fresh and new...and not aligned with a grid line..........
