RIP Terry, you are a legend that vocalised everything that was and is wrong with toryism. Sad indictment on the UK that your music is still relevant today. You did your part, your family and friends have my sympathy and can be rightly proud of you.
These lyrics are so true. I'm 62 & had bowel cancer diagnosis this year. Had major surgery & now having chemo. Life is for living. Enjoy yourself because it IS later than you think. RIP Terry.
Absolutely spot on my mate. Last year diagnosed with Cancer of the larynx. Had a full Laryngectomy and Radiotherapy. Stay Safe. Stay Strong. Enjoy Yourself. It's later than you think. Sleep Easy Terry.
Meet your "bro"!...69 and cancerous polyp found in colon(along with other polyps). Major surgery(5 hours of keyhole robotic) removing a section and rejoining remainder. Now on 3 months of chemo because of tiny cancerous cells found in lymph nodes. Any, onward and upward!...
I'm laid in bed 22 Dec , feeling like crap listening to this.. Tears in my eyes , I just can't believe Terry has gone. The specials were my childhood they were my adulthood , I've listened to them and my ska collection nearly everyday since 1979 when I was blown away by Gangsters.... been into 2 tone ever since.. It's a way of life.. Now a huge piece is missing.... Damn this cold making me sob RIP Terry .. Thanks for the music its kept me on the straight n narrow..
I saw them for 3rd time at the Richoe centre in Coventry for their 30th anniversary . They played ghost town ..I stopped dancing and just stared at them .. tears streaming down my face ...think OMFG it's the specials and I here with them . The next song Nevel staples went on the mic and stopped the music . Said a huge thank you to the crowd and said you've made 8 60 year old blokes so happy he had tears and struggled to speak we had tears ...I lost it at that point . Straight into concrete jungle omg the place erupted ....never been so happy in my life
A fitting song for anyone at a crossroads in life,I've given up my job"bus driver since the 90s"sold my house, moved far away from my home town,I'm going to run out of money around February, but it's the best decision I've ever made,At 55 the words of this fantastic song gave me a push 3 months ago to change things and ENJOY YOUR LIFE IT'S LATER THAN YOU THINK, so saddened to hear of Terry's passing, this song started my life change so thank you so much for that.
Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink The years go by, as quickly as you wink Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Hello, I'm Terry, and I'm going to enjoy myself first It's good to be wise when you're young 'cause you can only be young but the once Enjoy yourself and have lots of fun So glad and live life longer than you've ever done Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink The years go by, as quickly as you wink Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Never right, yes I know Get wisdom, knowledge and understanding These three, were given free by the maker Go to school, learn the rules, don't be no faker It's not wise for you to be a foot stool Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink The years go by, as quickly as you wink Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think Enjoy yourself, while you're still in the pink The years go by, as quickly as you wink Enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
Monday's news just didn't seem real. Only sinking in now. I just love Terry's voice with his distinctive midlands vowels and the irony and pathos that he could effortlessly portray the through a song. RIP Terry & thank you from Ireland.
The first gig I ever went to was The Specials. I loved the music and the message, it defined my life. This band gave me greedy ears and the best of times with lovely humans. Thanks to all of you! Peace.
@@MCfattyB Lol, it is boogie-worthy...but it was literally a message from God to me about the time that we are currently in. We are at the very end of the world, believe it or not. You should believe it. The message was/is very sobering.
I just cannot with these guys! They get me every time. Just so fucking good…amazing how well this music wears, 40 years on! Every one of these guys was brilliant. Viva ska!
I had an epiphany to this song when I was like 5, and it just randomly popped up in my head about "enjoying a party because it's later then you think" and then found the urge to Google it. It's 1am right now where I am.
The Specials - Enjoy Yourself It's Later Than You Think is commonly misconceived as The Specials - Enjoy Yourself It's Better Than You Think Enjoy the facts!
