Actually really glad to see chandler Riggs acting again, his presence was missed in TWD and I lowkey think, if done correctly, his character could’ve changed things for the better.

Very interested in this. Ditko clearly had horror in mind with Peter’s original appearance. The wall crawling. The intimidation on Ben’s killer. The concept of being stalked by a giant spider. It’s all very horror-esque that rarely gets touched on because Peter is a friendly guy

It’s funny cause Chandler auditioned for Spider-Man in the MCU but lost out. I feel like this might be Chandler’s comeback to jolt his career post-Walking Dead. Can’t wait to see this.

The spider actually changing his DNA to be Man-spider would be a great concept for a horror film of Spider-man, then Imagine his regular villans like Shocker, Tombstone, and hammerhead being picked off by this man

You know what would be lit is if this wasn’t Peter Parker but Patton Parnel with a new origin story instead of making him full on spider and insatiable hunger basically make him like when Doc OC transferred his mind into Peter Parker body and creating the Superior Spider-man and making that canon would still be evil and Dark but idk just what I want to see the Superior Spider-man made into a film

The Fly was a masterclass in horror. Spiders eat thousands of flies. They were right to fear Spiderman mutating in the animated series.

This makes me think of this obscure as hell movie from the 2000's called Earth vs The Spider. Never thought I'd remember that, but I'm excited for this.

Ever since I saw Man Spider in the 1995 animated Spiderman series. I always wanted a horror movie based on that concept. Like it starts off amazing. You got spider powers. You're having fun. No super hero or nothing it's just a guy having fun with his new powers. Then it gets dark. You start having cravings you never had before. You start showing habits that only a spider would have. Weaving webs in your hands sleeping in the corners of the room. Then you mutate. It starts off small. Like eye color changing. Then you wake up with an extra arm. Your hair is falling out in clumps and as time passes you become more and more violent. And it ends with the Man Spider in full view wreaking havoc on the populace until finally something kills you. OH THE CHILLS!!!!

Is this based on the spider verse comic where Peter is s sociopath, uncle Ben is physically and emotionally abusive, and Peter has a creepy obsession with mating with mj? Maybe, maybe not but either way this looks interesting.

Would be an awesome cameo if Andrew Lincoln were in the streets yelling "COOOOOOORAL" 😂

This reminds me of that one Edge of Spider-Verse one-shot that was also a horror take on Spider-Man, with an alternate version of Peter Parker getting bit and slowly turning into a vile monstrosity, and since this version already had sociopathic tendencies he gleefully gives into these new animalistic desires. Don't know if that partly inspired this or not, but I'm excited to see what y'all make!

An absolute brilliant take on the Spider-Man bite. Especially given that the whole situation does play out a bit like horror.

I’m imagining the outcome of the bite. Peter gets bitten by a spider and gets these superpowers and, at first, was amazing. But overtime the effects of the bite are starting to get creepier until it reaches the point that he grows 4 extra arms and transforms into an evil & ruthless giant spider and someone has to put him out of his misery. Can’t wait to see it! Looks amazing!

And, Earth vs. The Spider's legacy continues. Can't wait for this one. 🕷️

reminds me of a movie from showtime in the 2000s (or maybe HBO) called Earth Versus the Spider. In which a nerdy security guard injects himself with experiemntal virus that mutates him into a canibilistic aracnoid hybrid. It was actually pretty decent. Its the closet thing to The Man-Spider arch we got for the longest time.

Kinda reminds me of that old movie where a man turns into a spider. This looks far better though, but I don't remember how good or bad it was at all, but I remember it fondly as a kid.

Has anyone here forgotten about the movie 'Earth vs. the Spider (2001)'? It's tagline already foretells the premise of this upcoming movie starring Chandler Riggs: "Science made him a Mutant. Nature made him a Killer." Also, that 2001 Horror, Sci-fi Movie starred Dan Aykroyd, John Cho, and Pedro Pascal before he played Joel Miller in HBO's live action miniseries of 'The Last of Us'. Wow.

If you set it to 0.25, you can see his face transforming into a spider at 0:29. It looks good, but I'm a little disappointed, since I was expecting more of an approach similar to Brightburn, and to have an evil Spider-Man, which in itself, along with the gore, would be very scary. Maybe they do both, who knows.

Funny enough isnt new. There was already a horror film that did this based on Spider-Man using the same horror theme called Earth vs The Spider (2001) about a teen security guard who injected himself with an experimental spider serum thinking he'd get powers, but it takes a really dark turn. After freeze framing the flashes and seeing that humanly buglike creature he's about to evolve into. I instantly new this was gonna be it and i cant wait to see the rest! 0:28

I wonder if this might be similar to the story of Patton Parnell? He was the Spider-Man of Universe 51412, who started out as a disturbed young man who wound up getting bit by a radioactive spider… And then slowly transforming into a hideous half-man half-spider monster with a taste for blood… He ends up killing the Flash Thompson of his universe, and then infecting his Uncle and Mary Jane with spider eggs implanted in their skin (via his bite) It literally made my skin crawl seeing the pages of his transformations…. Glad that he got killed by Morlun before he could cause anymore havoc
