Do you think the cloudspike 10000’s could hold up for an entire high school Xc season over the 5k distance? I got a pair for track and loved them, but curious about durability and performance over my hs Xc courses as it is a track spike.
Can't say for sure as I haven't put them through a full cross season yet, but they should be just fine. Other track spikes like the Dragonfly and Adidas Avanti two have both handled an entire season fine for me, but I still would still recommend setting aside a pair of spikes for races and using an older pair for workouts
Do you have any Xc spike recommendations, I’m between the Dragonfly Xc, the zoom victory 5 or new balance Xc-x, you mentioned you did the 10k so I just figured you would also have experience in Xc spikes as well
Out of those I’d have to go with the Dragonfly XC but most guys I know will just go with the og ones. They should be on sale too with the new Dragonflys releasing. Also I would look at the On Cloudspike 10000m and Adidas Avanti Tyo.
Ok thanks, also do you think the brooks LD would work well too? I’ve never used track spikes for Xc so I just don’t know what works well and what doesn’t
Yeah those are a great option too. I’m not as confident with those but it really comes down to what you’re most confident with. Just make sure you put in the longer spikes with whatever shoe you end up choosing. Also thinking about making an XC spike guide so stay tuned for that.
Thank you so much! I look forward to that Xc guide if you do make one, I’ve heard plenty of opinions on does or don’ts but it would mean more coming from a more accomplished athlete like yourself
@@Andrew_Dirks Wrote up a little guide today if you want to take a look at it before the video comes out. www.supwell.io/supbeat/what-is-the-best-spike-for-cross-country. Let me know if you have any questions!
I'm more of a middle distance runner but I usually try to get new pair of spikes for each season. I'll then use my old ones for practice and training so I can keep one pair fresh for racing.
