I went out early to see what spillway fish were biting. The answer: they all were. It was probably one of my better outings of the fall.

I enjoy setting the hooksetter up from time to time and chasing it after it sets off - it adds quite a bit of excitement. I was hoping to get a few more catfish but with the water unusually low this year I haven't had as much luck for them in this spot. It was a busy morning and surprisingly not too many people around which is unusual for a weekend. Thank you!

The fall had a slow start and fish ran up a little late..when they starting running everything turned on like crazy though! Great video and nice walleye! The one evening from this year (where I caught my pb) I still had the ozark trail weight scale (they tend to be off) I did take its girth measurments and etc, and did an equation that tells me the weight-it was 6.75 pounds exact so looks like the pb grew- sorry bout the long comment and great video bro!

It seems like they don't start to really get going in the fall until the water temps start to take a sudden dip. Then it gets more urgent for them. This year the warm weather held on for longer than normal and everything was shifted later in the year. Thanks for watching!

I like setting the hooksetter up to add some excitement and also for some exercise running back and forth. Kind of like chasing flags while ice fishing I guess. We have had some very mild weather lately and that is preventing much ice formation. I'm hoping for a cold front but for now caught in between the seasons. Good luck this weekend!

I don't know, that one smallie spillway you fished looked pretty promising! For some reason Iowa is the land of the spillway. I'm not sure why there are so many but I'm all for it. Thanks!

@@BackroadsAngling It has potential. I saw a big pike there once. But no wipers in NJ, hardly any channel cats and walleye are hard to come by.

I am lucky to have so much diversity here. We have the Mississippi River to thank for that. You do well to make the most with what you have. Half the bass in New Jersey have been kissed by you.

What's the limit on white bass and why don't you take some home for lunch or dinner, i just wish we had them here on the east coast the only one that is close to them are the white perch but you have to be in the right place to find the bigger ones my personal best on white perch is a little over 3 pounds most of the time you only catch the little ones . Larry

There’s no size limit or catch limit. I keep them sometimes but if I already have fish in the freezer I let them all go. It’s easy to take them for granted because they are so numerous but I never do because they are so fun to catch. Thank you!
