EDIT: the Slade movie does exist apparently. MY BAD Damn, they really massacred my boy on this one... These are the lowest rated Teen Titans Go! episodes of all time. Do you agree? Follow me on Twitter, I usually post funny memes: twitter.com/Darzii_
In season 5 there was 3 episodes called “Kabooms part 1 and 2” which is where they all go to the movies to watch a movie, and “tower renovation” which picks up where it left off at the tower that was destroyed. That may be what they’re talking about I think
11:22 bro slade in the original was a favourite, he ligit played with robins mind to the point robin couldnt stop thinking about him, the fact he didn't even get screen time is blasphemous
Okay so I don’t know if someone else said it and I don’t want to speak about for everyone one who hated the episode but the main reason that I know that everyone hates The Return of Slade is more or less because of the messaging. In the episode Cyborg and Beast Boy are metaphors for people who love animation or specifically Cartoons for western audiences. The clown in the episode is the idea of animation. The writers wanted to point the finger at adults still into animation and mock them for their childish tastes, and criticisms pointed at the show at the time. This is apparent in the casts reaction to the clown. Beast Boy and Cyborg disappointed because “Clowns” in their time had Character depth and Soul while Robin and Raven point out that “Clowns” are for kids. Cyborg and Beast Boy try to hold onto their past love for “Clowns” by trying to make them how they remember. However this results in making something way too violent and destructive for the masses. Leading to Cyborg and Beast Boy giving up their love of “Clowns”. The idea being that people who love animation who are outside the age range need to grow up. The shows that they thought were deep and impactful are just childish and nonsensical. For people who love animation as a medium, it felt like a smack or spit in the face to our love of the art form. Especially since it was coming from a show that had these great things about it. Again I’m not speaking for everyone, but that’s the impression I got through watching the episode and seeing the discourse about it.
The reason people hate Teen Titans Go is because the writers deliberately go out of their way to mock fans of the original series, to the point that they even try to say that they are better than the original. The only reason this awful show is still on is because they put it in almost every time slot.
Not just fans of the original but fans of dc comics let alone dc super girls. They put it in almost every slot like it's SpongeBob to the point they don't give chances for banger shows to air and if I recall they only re aired the original once. They kept putting go in every time slot where not even a new how to train your dragon series could air and it was forced into Netflix
@@ChristopherPortorreal-ol2mjThat would also play a part to why certain shows like Steven Universe get severe pacing issues or get screwed all together
@@Lyrarizi Yeah, his depth, what made him such a compelling character and a cool leader, his dynamic with his teammates, his wholesome relationship with Starfire... it all gets thrown out the window in this show
Cyborg: Robin guess what?! Your parents are here Robin: REALLY?? Cyborg: yep there right behind this door *Robin runs inside and gets trapped in tape the other teen titians laugh at Robin* Robin: yeah *sniff* so funny
I kinda see why people hated the reboot because raven was kinda weak and didn't use her powers and she didn't get happy as easily as the raven in this one and beast boy and cyborg weren't very close and robin isn't as attractive. And Starfire does not like robin like she does in teen titans.
You should 100% do a video on the highest rated episodes of the show. I have Nostalgia for both the og teen titans and teen titans go being born in 07. Teen Titans go can be genuinely entertaining when it wants to be Can't say I hate it but I really hated the marathons of it that basically killed off so many better shows. And honestly since teen titans go is 11 years old at this point the hate it still gets is crazy.
That’s a great idea! I’d love to cover some actual good episodes for once. I didn’t enjoy these episodes, but they’re literally the worst rated ones, so I’m sure there’s lots of improvement somewhere!
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265As a person who was born in 2007 as well, I watched Teen Titans Go all the time and there are actually really good episodes. The night begins to shine was the goat!
People took issue with "Return of Slade" because the show runners were taking pot-shots at fans of the original show that hated TTG. The clown is a stand-in for the Teen Titans property (in animation, I guess). Cyborg and Beast Boy are the nostalgic fans that swear it used to be awesome and now it's lame, and Raven is the voice of reason telling them the show was always lame and never changed, that they just grew up. People take issue with it because it assumes that all kids media is "lame" because it's made for kids, and "real" adults shouldn't care because they aren't the target audience anymore. Personally, I'm on the fence. There's something to be said about appealing to the current generation, or experimenting with a new style... and some kid shows age very poorly. That said, there's a lot of good ones out there that kids and adults can enjoy; I take it as a sign of good writing and hopefully timeless quality. =)
Great explanation! I couldn’t possibly put into words what you were able to just now. The fans being the butt of the joke is such a weird direction for a show like this.
@@zenchantrelle9779 Why don't you question what they're (the show itself is) doing in the freakazoid crossover taking JABS AT ANOTHER SHOW THAT HAS BEEN LOATHED BY LOONEY TUNES PURISTS FOR YEARS in the form of Loonatics Unleashed? It's suddenly ok to attack another show but shame on you that you don't like this show for 11 years. And before you ask it went like this: Raven: "They're reviving the Loonatics?" (woman shrieking stock effect plays) To pararhyme a rap god spitting bars in X Gonna Give It To Ya: The Loonatics Unleashed show endured the h8 over 19 YEARS, HATERS BE FIGHTING THE SHOW AND FIGHTING THE SHOW'S SMALL FANBASE'S TEARS.
man this show, i never really liked it and i took the piss out of my older sister for liking it, but the lengths the internet went to hate on it was honestly petty. the only times i would say it genuinly deserved the hate it got was during episodes like return of slade which are purpose built to piss take its audience at the expense of its own storytelling. like the clown plot of nostalgia rose tinting peoples views and needing to edgy things up to entertain adults, absolutely great commontary in isolation. but clickbaiting the audience of the old show and insinuating the old show is only enjoyable because of nostalgia is honestly petty as hell. i don't think it should be the lowest rated because the episode itself isn't the worst the show has to offer, the review bomb was purely an emotional response because again, it is pretty detestable behaviour on the show runners part to dedicate entire episodes into upsetting their fanbase to a point they actively ruin story telling posibilities. ironically my main issue with rick and morty of all weird things to link lol.
brother blood in teen titans: 🗿💪💀 brother blood in teen titans go: 🧍 also if im correct, there was a teen titans go movie with slade as the main antagonist
@@TheRealDarziidamn i used to be a fan of teens titan go but after i read those comment i feel like the show might be the most hated and then i might have bad opinion abt cartoons😐😐😐
So from what I've heard the reason people hate The Return of Slade is because its the writer directly poking fun at critics. The clown in the episode is the show, and Beast Boy and Cyborg are the veiwers. When the two hear about clown in the episode they get very excited, just like many Teen Titan fans got excited when they heard about the reboot. But when the clown gets there, Beast Boy and Cyborg are upset that the clown isn't as cool as it was when they were kids and want the clown to be cool again, therefore modifying it to be edger. Just like how the critics wanted the reboot to be edger Thats it. Its just the writers telling us that the show 'is meant for kids' therefore shouldnt be designed for anyone else to enjoy Sorry for the like the essay lol
I have watch teen titans go as a kid. When I saw episode where slade lost in the series background, I had a question where the heck their fight episode?
The reason people hated The Return Of Slade was because this was the peak of the era where the writers made hella episodes dissing the people who criticized it. This episode in particular being the straw that broke the camel’s back since they basically blueballed fans of the OG show by teasing them with basically the second most beloved character after Robin then not doing it, yapping about how cool it was for two minutes then went on a meta commentary about how older fans need to let go of the things they loved as a child by using the clown. This episode is basically a giant fuck you to every fan of the OG show. There’s another episode similar to this called Let’s Get Serious which I would argue is more egregious than this one. Given I was a child when this show was on air, this was what made me drop the show because despite it being made for me, my earliest memories were watching the OG on Boomerang. So even being that young, it was a massive disappointment and annoyance to me.
Teen Titans go has a ton of Crossovers, a Few "5 Episode stories" where it was like a Arc released in a week, and a lot, and I mean a lot, of tax information.
im 17 as of 12 of may 2024 and this is my opinion, I am barely old enough to watch the original so having this spin off seems cool so I can interact with the characters without being grounded for watching something im not supposed to. This show is 100% for teens and kids.
You showed 6teen on the screen now I want a video of it 😭😂 great show! Videos are getting better and better, great editing, very proud of you keep it up 💚
The director of TT also created a cartoon called super robot monkey team hyperforce go! Which aired on the jetix block back in 2005, it seems to be a homage to early anime
2:12 I like that Raven's the serious one and not super happy-go-lucky like everyone else but she still has her happy moments and she's not completely emo.
As someone who grew up with Teen Titans Go, I would say that it's very overheated. I actually laughed at some jokes and satire humor on other DC lore when I looked back and knew more about DC (which only started since TTG was basically my introduction as I only had vague memory of the original from the re-airing in a local channel I barely watched). However, I still distinctly remember that even if it was one of my favorite shows then, I was so done and tired because it was so airing nonstop. I had to turn to a different channel lol. Over all, I still stand that it's overheated, but I could never like the show again for how they treat Robin. Dick Grayson was my over all favorite comic character, and it hurts me how he fell so hard in this show while being voiced by arguably his best voice actor. I actually like the movie because Robin was at least respected there and he had his revenge lmao Also, the movie's ending was bearable in comparison to the show because even if I'm fine with watching some clips, I could not watch a full episode because it irritates me how they always make every ending pointless. Also, even as a kid, I lost it when Beast Boy fumbled the bag on Raven in their 2-part episode lol.
Teen Titan Go is the most random show ever but it's one of those shows i watched in my childhood that affected me, like the night begins to shine episodes and because of that it holds a special place in my heart. on the other hand the whole show is just everyone bullying the shi- out of robin
I watched Teen Titans GO! As a kid, obsessively like all day every day and I still can’t connect the dots that the Robin from this show is Nightwing, literally HOW also they always disrespect Robin in the show which is so sad 😭
Dexter's Lab made an episode where all he could say was omelette du fromage and it was 1 of the most memorable episodes. So i guess these thought they could do their own version
I think the reason RoS is the most hated is because i made OG fans kinda hyped to see Slade, just to find out they spent a couple minutes skipping Teen Titans' entire finale and referencing it, just to do a boring clown episode episode
You know, if this show was made with their original characters, it wouldn't be that much of a problem (and that much of an attention) This feel like they use the legacy of a once great show to to have an easy pass here while put not that much of an effort into doing it. Btw, kid show is not really a good excuse for making a bad writing. Their brain are in a develope phase and it can indicate how the kid will think in the future. If the show only produced brainrot kind of media, of course the kid will grow up to be braindead.
I actually kinda like teen titans go because I grew up with it mainly because it was the only thing on Cartoon Network when I was young so I think I just got used to it and started to like it
The Powerpuff Girls were insulted and you know that I get offended when anybody hurts my favorite cartoon characters of all time. You might say that they're just talking about the 2016 version, but they existed because of the OG show. For me, it feels like TTG is being mean to the Powerpuff Girls in GENERAL (they would still hate the Powerpuff Girls even if they were the OG versions of themselves). This ruined my trust of cartoons all at once and made me scared of new shows making crossovers with one of the 4 shows I like because I don't want anyone hurting my childhood that shaped my life form.
it not bad it just changed the recipe (LESS BUDGET) (MORE LOW EFFORT JOKES) (BRAINROT) But a lil funny sometimes i watched 5 whole seasons idk how did i do that I Was Young And IDK Something poetic
This entire show is a joke, literally. This show is made as a joke; it’s one massive meme and that’s what makes it unique. It’s sure not for everybody, but if you watched the actual series, it’s easier to see the whole purpose of the show, as the show literally labels itself as a joke in several fourth wall breaking episodes. It isn’t supposed to have a sophisticated story, and the entire premise of the series is to make fun of everything. It’s one big joke that’s supposed to make you laugh, sometimes with super simple 2 second jokes, and sometimes with more complex jokes that run for an entire episode.
Some of the hate the show gets is undeserved. Like people would make actual good criticisms about the show then you have the people being like “ this show is bad because the OG show is better” and “it ruined the OG shows legacy” like they are different types of shows why are you comparing😭.
Its honestly suprprising to see TTG getting so much hate, because it was my favorite CN show as a kid, i loved the humor, the more silly "character development" and the meme-like animations Well, that's just my opinion
I actually like teen titans go, in the middle of the series, specifically speaking season 4 and 3, it just leaned towards toddler humor, now it's a actually a underated show.
I dont get why soo many people hate this show like ik its a rip off of the OG but that doesnt mean its bad i used to watched everyday as a kid and i loved it
Yes they made a real THEATRICAL movie with slade years later, but possibly after this episode baited the viewers in wondering how they would characterize him
for me, it’s both series ran at the same time it would be great. You’ve got one for comity and one for more serious stuff. The thing that is annoying is the serious one had an ending that pretty much screamed. Please give us another season.
ERM YOU SHOULD WATCH THE EMOJI MOVIE NEXT IT'S LIKE SO GOOD AND AMAZING LIKE I LOVE THE PART OF THE MOVIE WHEN HE SAYS "IT'S EMOTIONAL TIME" AND EMOTIONED ALL OVER THE PLACE.
One episode was April 1st and in the show the rest of the titans do a prank on robin then they took it to far they told him that his dead parents that died in a circus accident were in the room but they were not and he tried to cry off the pain even ravin who is a demon said that was cruel
Teen Titans Go is a good show, come at me all you want. I’m not a fan of The original tbh and I don’t understand why TTG ruined Teen Titans 🤷🏽♀️ However, the only problem I see is the time slot issue and that’s it
Teen Titans Go is a children’s show that slowly turned into a parody of the original and found its own footling later on, there’s been some pretty funny episodes because of this but the bad episodes ARE bad. Reminds me of Spongebob.
For some reason I really liked this show as a kid. I also vividly remember thinking the waffles episode was the funniest thing ever for some reason. Return of Slade scared the piss out of me though because of the clown
I grew up watching teen titans go instead of teen titans because that was the only thing to watch on CN. It holds up well as a funny spinoff show, breaking 4th wall and stuff.
It’s cause it was the sign of the shows downfall I didn’t even know this myself at first but the entire episode was just play on the new teen titans show vs the old one and a jab at critics who said the old show was better. That entire episode was the first of many made just to dedicate to making fun of viewers.
Teen Titans Go for at least the first few seasons(I gotta watch past like 3). Is pretty good so far and while its far from the Action Adventure that was Teen Titans. Go definitely lived up to what it is supposed to be, a comedy. It's genuinely funny for where im at.
When it first came out ( I was 13) the first two seasons were honestly decent. Even now (I'm 24) TTG can be FUNNY when it properly sets things up. (I don't watch it anymore but go to the episodes that actually made me laugh) But The Return of Slade honestly made me and my older brother (he was 17 at the time) pissed. The series had a huge pattern of doing a few good episodes but then an OVERWHELMING amount of average or bad episodes
Robin making them waffles for breakfast is actually a pretty good joke. They only say waffles, so they get waffles. And the villain never using that hypnosis is probably a result of it not working when he tries. Starting the episode after the villain is defeated can be a great opening. Especially when someone wasn't part of the fight and everyone else tries to sell this amazing victory. But there needs to be a payoff. Like not having a fight at all and it all being tall tales or something like that. And the one punch clown fight itself is also a nice gag. Everyone being super afraid of the bad guy, but he is actually super weak. But both episodes are just not good. Neither has a good payoff for the gimmick of the episode. Neither has character growth or lessons learned. (And both can be done even in a comedy for kids)
