Had my First night of BJJ last night... broke a rib when a big guy fell on me.... at least i can watch and keep the dream alive. Feel like a kid with lactos-intolerance trying a ice cream for the first time
im a 2 stripe white belt I would of had my 3rd if covid 19 never happened at my last grading so I hope to make it hear 1 day ive been to only 3 tournaments so far and won bronze at my 2nd tournament with only 6 months of training
Karate can't fight on the ground, yes, because the Kata is made for 1 on 3 combat. BJJ is good on the ground and in the cage, with rules applied. On the street, it's good for 1 on 1 combat. As for 1 on 3 combat, you think while you're having fun with 1 guy on the ground, 2 guys are just chilling and waiting until you finish ? Apply some Karate, dude. I think every style has its own limits and advantages. So, you can't really tell which style is better.
Iam a purple belt, most of you didnt event watch bjj fight but just bjj highlights even professional fighter dont watch fights ask buchecha, he aready said he dont because it s boring bjj and grappling will never be a thing if we have this kind of rule which encourage stacking after earning a point or an advantage
Polerito Nicolau I totally do know the history. The Gracie's stole Judo from Kano, bastardised it and pretended it was their own invention. Then they called it BJJ and spent several generations peddling their franchise model to suckers like you.
Paraic McDonagh I dont even train bbj, I train karate kyokushin :) but if you cannot respect a style just because by you it dosent seem original then I'm sorry for you, alot of martial arts are very familiar to others but still have something special in each and also have their place in a moment of a fight. Btw it's spelled osu not oss.
