i own 3 from this series, and this is one of them (in addition to Turath and Bahar) - for the record, 50ml's are also available and i found a couple of mine on discount from Donnatella perfumes in Florida, believe it or not). thanks for a superb review of Fakhama - i think it's Fakhing terrific!

You can buy a bottle well under $500. Yes still a dent in the wallet, but far from what the House itself prices their fragrances. BTW, I’m glad you finally like one. 🤩 I have four SOD fragrances so far.

I had to go back to your impression of this fragrance. I’ve tried, and on decants of. Diwan, Majalis and Narjesi. However, I blind bought a 50 meal size of.Falhama which is scheduled to arrive today. and I value your opinion even though you’re much younger than I am, you are well experienced and I was hoping I hadn’t fucked up. You initially pronounced Fakhama perfectly, Ramsey. The Spirit of Dubai indeed is an over the top brand and their stores reflect that - quite an experience. Salesmen are attentive and welcome you to sample all frags without pressure. Really loved Baz and Abraj. The Saudi Arabian Taif rose you mention is very popular as an oil and in frags in the GCC region and yes Russian Adam's Malik Al Taif is a fine example.

I feel very informed & can almost smell Fahkama. 👏👏👏 Like many fragrance nerds, I don’t mind spending some absurd $ for a fragrance I adore & love as a work of Great Art, but I try not to purchase much in July-August (no-buy-July?) Shipping is problematic. The other day I purchased a vintage bottle from a “new-to-me” ebay seller. The fragrance arrived with no temperature protection & near-boiling hot 🤨 (it was returned). I have one small (6 bottle, I think) haul coming from Anooj, then I think I’ll take a break & spend some time with my current collection while the weather is insufferable. Lol 🤣 Thank you for the learning!!! 🙏❤️

Hi Bud, I found in the wife's draw, I purchased years ago....Shalimar Extract in a Baccarat bottle 1962. I remember one dab on your wrist and it smells all night, there is that much civet in it. It smells like the bed sheets are like dirty in the morning but in a nice way. I'll email you some photo's of the bottle

Speaking of rose though, I know you're not a fan of layering, but I combined Godolphin today with Trussardi's The Black Rose and we've got killer combo #48. Easily could've been in a Clive Christian bottle. I'm like one of those kids in a make-your-own-stuffed-animal store. 😂 Or Dr. Frankenstein minus the lightning strikes. "It's alive! The reason you believe Meydan & the others don't smell of a higher quality oud as "Oud" does is because "Oud" contains Indian (Assam) oud which is the most potent oud in the world & pretty much where oud originated from. Indian oud is the definition of a dirty , funky , barnyardy , skanky oud. A few other of his fragrances more so in the 2nd generation contain Indian oud as well. It's often used as Bahkoor but not so much in fragrances , definitely not for everyone & only for the true oud lover.
