This documentary was produced around the occasion of Fr. Alexander Schmemann's funeral at St. Vladimir's Seminary in 1983. It reflects on the life of this contemporary Orthodox Christian theologian, teacher, priest and friend and the impact he has had on the church in this country and through out the world.

This beautiful video of Father Alexander Schmemann brought tears to my eyes. A very holy and special priest who is sorely missed even to this day. I am a Latin rite Catholic who frequently participates in and enjoys the beautiful Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. But the reality of the great Schism which separates our holy Churches causes me and my fellow Catholic Christians great regret and pain. I pray daily to the Holy Spirit that our Churches may one day, very soon, re-unite in holiness

As St Athanasius taught: We are to serve God and not "the times." In other words, "this generation" needs to turn to God and not try to twist God into the distortions of our times.
