Let's keep it simple...this isn't even a playlist specific thing. If anyone gives you ANY "boost" on your streams, followers, views, etc WITHOUT asking you that is a MAJOR red flag, not a "good deal" as a lot of think it is. I'm not speaking on playlists as a whole...there's well-documented ways to get quality playlisting at this point. Preciate those who have come to and shared their experiences which led to an eye-opening convo late yesterday. Spotify is cracking down on Indie artists as far as bots but not when the major labels do it.

So basically you could sabotage any artist you with want with buying them fake streams.

You gotta cover the Tunecore situation goin down. Hella artists been complaining about their shenanigans

I've had streams go up on Spotify playlist without any contact to me n yea it's suspicious af, the only time it happens to me is when I use the distrokid Playlist wheel .. this go deep I think the middle man is tired of paying the small artists

This happened to me a while back on soundcloud. I had to remove the songs they added the fake streams to!! Shit is so corny we want actual listeners. Thanks for the heads up Sean!

Spotify deleted one of my projects because of fake streams and I’ve never paid for any type of boost or even been approached by someone. 😮

When someone added our artist to a playlist, we reported it to Spotify and our distributor.

This was needed. I'll be on the lookout for these playlists.

That Wavr,ai playlist does that same thing and your right there is nothing an artist can do about random bot playlists adding your song for a teaser boost to try to get you to pay to be on lists longer to get more plays
