If slaughterhouses had glass walls, we would all be veg! That’s a real thing! Out of sight out of mind. This rescue and our opening in St. Louis gives these blessed people the opportunity to see and do the right thing. Thank you for supporting our work. People are changing everyday!

gentlebarn I love that quote. I also love the quote “as long as there are slaughterhouses, there will be war.” Or something along that line.

There are other places and people who rescue factory farm animals etc, it's just not always publicized though. I've had a cook book for years from a sanctuary out west etc... This is a pretty historic event that these six at once escaped so it made the news. There was a cow who escaped to find her baby and did somewhere else, yet thankfully the town let them stay together. There are also vigils at slaughterhouses... I just heard even John Nettles the actor has some horses and a donkey saved from becoming dog food on a Midsomer Murders youtube chat for a episode (no press about it though)....and that whole avenue of rescuing dogs and cats from Asia is a big thing too.. But I can understand what your saying... there are so many - all of them want to live I'm sure..... I wonder if the factories were just bought out these...places where animals die.... the owners would just take the money and run? I think it's all about money perhaps...there was a guy in Asia who bought out a to be killed truck of dogs and rescued them I read.....and then of course create more plant based meats for people to replace meat/ protein alternatives (I don't eat meat, I don't think faux meat reminds of me meat at all actually aside from the slight resemblance, but you can tell it's not a dead animal outright to me, I know there's mixed opinions on this- I'm really sensitive to meat cooking and to me it also smells different, tastes different- same with the faux chesses, I can taste the lack of lactose, which I'm also allergic too- all in all it tastes a lot cleaner - I never really liked meat as a kid nor the smell of it...and it provides solid protein sources for newbe or an older vegan who wants some concise protein..so I think it's good that it's out there...but I also do like beans and non meat related plant protein even sprouts/ lots of greens and you can mix all sorts of plant foods together two or three at a time to create a complete amino acid protein....) so anyway... I can understand wanting to live! Those babies were really smart to figure out what was going, or I don't know...These lovely beings need much more of a voice and protection- how this all got started in the first place I will never understand. If I was a new human and stumbled across bunnies, cows, etc I would never think lets kill this, and all that process to eat it ... the process alone would deter me... I think of animals as friends.. But I do want to get what it will take for this to stop! It's in the early stages...but I hope the process happens faster and faster- but we are a long way from when everyone was in the dark about this....It's moving towards an age of animal wellness... though you'd think cruelty would just be illegal period... at least the Native Americans honored the animals, and some places are a lot less cruel too... but I just don't like killing in general personally. I catch bugs and release them.... These bulls are angels sent to wake people up perhaps!

It was videos like this (& very traumatizing slaughterhouse footage) that made me instantly go vegetarian and then later vegan. Best damn decision I ever made, hands down! You sound like an intelligent, caring person and I wish you the best of luck if meat-free is the path you choose! ❤️
