I’ve been waiting for your take on Philly stadiums, nice to see! And you’re right. Franklin Field is one place nobody complains about the track. And even though the Blue Hens play in New Castle County which is part of the metro area, I don’t blame you for not including it. It’s a bit too far to be considered “Philly”.
The 5K capacity floor for this video blocks out a few arenas in the area: La Salle, St. Joe's and Drexel's basketball venues, as well as Temple's old arena which I believe is used for their volleyball team now
I’m really happy you put the Philadelphia Soul’s logo, our arena football team, up during the Wells Fargo center part but they don’t currently play there. They’re dead
Franklin Field was once home to the Eagles before the Vet and to the famous 1960 NFL Championship where the Eagles beat the Packers. This was the only post season loss in Vince Lombardi's career as an NFL head coach. And the Eagles didn't win a league championship again until Super Bowl LII.
A lot of fans want one but the Union ownership can't even support the MLS team so we would need a new owner or investor for a women's team unfortunately.
I went to citizens Park for a baseball game last May and I’ll tell you it was one of the greatest experiences of my life the food is amazing the walk down the concourse in centerfield is great and they even have a wiffle ball field you can play on Also, the Liberty Bell doesn’t just light up for Home runs it lights up during the night
Finneran Pavillion at one point was called DuPont Pavillion. After John du Pont's involvement in the murder of Dave Schultz, Villanova decided to remove du Pont's name from the arena.
Citizens Bank takes whole family into mind, lets kids be kids. Ashburns Alley is dam cool. For me even above Mike, Richie Ashburn was the best player team had..I saw him as a Met' Still played great and hit . As the color guy on radio no one was better him. And and Charlie doing play by play, the best. They made even losing games great.Grew up a Yankee fan but now I also root for Phill's as well.Telling you now Yankees Phill's World SeriesGoing to happen.
I was actually at Lincoln Financial Field a few months ago for Wrestlemania 40 and it’s nice for sure just a little pricey like all other sports and event centers
1:48 Also, they light it in a rainbow pattern for night games in June (at least they did for the June 27, 2022 game against the Braves and June 27, 2024 game against the Marlins, the only two Phillies games I've attended)
Franklin Field, The Palestra and Finneran Pavilion are awesome! I think you should reconsider your capacity cut off. This video left off Daskalakis Athletic Center (Drexel), Tom Gola Arena (LaSalle), Hagan Arena (St. Joseph's) who along with Penn and Villanova form the Philadelphia Big 5 historically big basketball rivalries.
The Vet was a dump but in retrospect most of us miss it. It sucked to watch a baseball game there but it was fine for football. The bathroom situation was unfortunate though. 😂 You did pretty good dude. Can’t complain.
Wheres the ecw arena? Im disappointed. Fr my man. Tell me you hate wrestling without knowing about phillys rich history in the industry. The ecw arena is probably the most iconic venues in all of wrestling and deserved to be on this list. Please redo it my man.
While I understand the disappointment, it does state Minimum 5,000 spectators in the beginning for an indoor arena. The bingo hall on Swanson and Ritner does not meet that threshold. I do however feel ECf’nW could’ve filled the CoreStates Center at their peak.
HELL YES! i live 10 mins right outside of philadelphia! my teams represent! i worked on construction of both lincoln financial field and citizens bank park when i was an apprentice in plumbers union local 690!!!!!
Citizens Bank is the 2nd best ballpark behind only Fenway. The rat infested Vet was a mess. Then again eagle fans deserve rats All Philly big e hoops arenas are solidly good. All quirky and LOUD! My fave is Hawk Hill. Hogan Arena on St.Joe';s Smaller than Penn and Nova and Temple but way louder. Great fans and the Hawk will never die.Philly for all it's 1 million faults is the Crown Jewel of College Hoops. If you ate a true college hoops fan get to a Big 5 Game.
@@subparnaturedocumentary special place it is.Son and I are hitting all the gyms, only Nova is left. Hey why is not a big 6. Years back Drexel beat 3 of the 5.
@@davidwadsworth8982 i've seen a handful of nova games when steve lappas was the coach they had kerry kittles at the time and the venue at the time was called the dupont pavillion its a great place to watch hoops the students make that place nice and loud
@@davidwadsworth8982 the daskalakis center where drexel play now is pretty nice i have no idea why they werent original phl big 5 but the big 5 has finally expanded to include drexel
My neighbor is a Cowboy fan, dangerous habit inn South Jersey. He got cheap tickets for the game where Irvin got hurt so bad and the crowd did chant Die Mike Die and carrot., veggie,
Fun Fact: Santa is banned from Eagles games "for his own protection" since Eagles fans threw snowballs at him at a game in the 70s. Legend has it that the entire city of Philly got coal that year!
Ice Ball's.Packed as hard as rocks.I have an Amy Bud who was at that game. N o he did not toss any. Santa has skipped Philly ever since.Coal is way too nice a gift for eagle fans.
Lincoln Financial Field, the Wells Fargo Center, and Citizens Bank Park all within a stone's throw away from each other - although it's understood that the locals prefer batteries...
