Song is traditional (related to the songs “I’m Nine Hundred Miles From Home” and “Old Ruben”). This version based on recordings by Henry Whitter & G. B. Grayson, first issued as “Train 45” (Gennett 6320, 1928) with a second version issued as by Grayson and Whitter as “Train Forty-Five” (Victor 21189, 1928).
