*UPDATE* 10/10/2020 Schiffer has re-issued this deck with the correct spelling on the Emperor card and they sent me a replacement free of charge! Thank you Schiffer for the amazing customer support! Just a quick note: this was a pre-order copy and does contain a typo on the Emperor card - however Schiffer (Red Feather) is correcting this and if you received a copy with the typo you can contact their support, if you would like, to receive a replacement.

They sent me a new copy too! I love this deck and feel the same about the guidebook. I like the matt card stock, but I'm having to cut the deck in half to riffle shuffle because its so long and I haven't learned to side riffle!

I own many many decks, all very beautiful and wonderful, BUT this deck is my FAVORITE. The artwork and energy is AMAZING.

Aside from it's tiny issues.....misspelling of the Emperor card and the fact that my cards were bowed right out of the box, I love this deck. I was so happy when the creator decided to reissue with larger art work. I consider this creator brilliant. Her knowledge of the tarot and esoteric magic is amazing and her book is one I go to often. It is a treasure in my collection. I hope she does another deck someday!

Mine bowed slightly but after I put them under a heavy book for a day they were fine. Also Schiffer (Red Feather) is correcting the typo and sending replacements if you would like one, just contact their support. I agree the larger artwork is amazing, and I would LOVE to see more from her in the future! Thank you for watching and commenting!

@@ModernMetaphysicae I contacted them last week. I was told they do not know when they are reprinting and don't know when any would be available to replace. So...it seems it depends on who responds to you. I was told my information would be on "file".....

Waiting for this deck to be released in the UK. A Golden Dawn RWS/Thoth hybrid but a really nice one. The Golden Dawn underpins both RWS and Thoth and that is what is most obvious in this deck. I'm not a member of the matte cardstock fanclub; laminated cardstock lasts longer. I don't riffle shuffle so hopefully the cards will last.

I actually find laminated stocks last shorter with me because once it starts to peel away its just game over, theres no salvaging it. I riffle shuffle all my decks though. :)

I’ve been waiting for your review of this one. It’s so beautiful and I agree that book is fantastic. There’s so much in these cards to dive into and extract meaning from. I just wish my hands were bigger 😂

It is chunky for sure! I can JUST riffle shuffle it, so if you dont have gorilla hands like me you will just have to over hand it.

Thank you so much for this review! I do wish that every tarot book was this spot on. So frustrating when you get a beautiful book with gorgeous images and then cookie cutter tarot meanings and not one blurb on the actual image and any explanation of what is going on with the image and the corresponding tarot suit. I have pre ordered this from amazon and says will be available 9/15/2020.

Wow ! Love the detail in the images. Thank you for sharing. I didn't think i needed more decks but i was wrong. Thank you so much for clearing up the paper used! Magazine paper is one of my PET PEEVES in books and when I see them printed in color, I feel so so sad because I just assume it's gonna be glossy and gross. I'm surprised by how beautiful I find this deck even though I /hate/ typos + some of the perspective feels weird to me.

"The Emperor" card is spelled incorrectly. Notice the mistake at the 8:38 mark where it is spelled "Emporer!"

This is such a pretty deck but I'm having some issues with a few errors. 1. Why are some of them starting with "the", eg the high priestess, but then it's just "empress" or just "fool"? That is such a strange choice... 2. The emperor is misspelled as "emporer"... 🙄 Ugh. I haven't looked further if there are more errors, but these just put me off and it's a shame, it's a pretty deck

Hi Dustin, great review. Thanks for sharing. I have the first edition but never used it due to the not great card stock. I have a question - in your opinion what other mass market deck would you say this card stock is identical to. I've got the new 2nd ed Mary-el and its also matt finish, but super slippery which puts me off 😔 also - i noticed the Emperor card is spelt wrong 🤔

It's very similar to the 2nd edition Mary-el. I wouldn't describe that as slippery though, personally. There is a typo in the Emperor car, but I love stuff like that, I find it charming and a reminder that we are all human. I believe they did correct that though, and when I get another copy I can verify - it is spelled correctly in the book interestingly. Mine was a pre-order copy. Curious about the white mountain tops that line that backs of the cards along with the small stars.. On Amazon the card backs appear different: no mountain tip-tops, or smaller stars. Anyone know anything about that? I love the backs of the cards with the extras, but wonder why we don’t see those little extras on Amazon ?

The backs shown on Amazon appear to be the First Edition backs, not sure if they have swapped them back or not. Its likely a leftover artifact from the early marketing materials they sent out, and just was never updated. Hope that helps. :)
