Exactly, Lorena. I was SO done with preachy nuTrek - even Picard was upsetting. Though SNW does what original Trek did in bringing up 'pertinent' social issues.. It's very much a back seat compared to Disco and Picard. This felt TOTALLY like original trek, TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT (when they weren't doing story arc nonsense).

@@noizW Yup it was pointless and worst of all his death was Alien 3 Ripley's dead ripoff, Hemmer and Pike were the only good things about SNW! The whole episode was Alien/s, Predator ripoff + they made Gorn into monsters.....

Its still stained with the generic scifi stentch of Discovery. But the first epidode is the most authentic trek iv seen since Voyager. It was, modern and well balanced. An old 'what if?' trek premis, good acting and good dilouge. Trek. The whole seasons been watchable, but not much is rewatchable. To that I advice giving season 2 Picard a try. It gives alot, and if any seaon can try a diffrent story telling technique is a small series with a golden cast. Discovery tried too hard too be new at the cost of the franchise. They god rid of red alert, warp cores n wap speed. N dowsed it all in nwo bullshit. Picard season 1 does some of that too. But seaon 2 does not. Just like SNW, theres alot of trek in it.

She's so unlike the (usually) extremely controlled La'an here, if you leave aside the whole Kirk, well, affair. Nice to see that side of her. Also, I like Ethan Peck's T-Shirt. I would guess he had it custom made. Which also says a lot about him :)

I think he's just tired lol. He said it in the interview they been shoved in every interview imaginable and asked the same questions which most they can't even fully answer so it's probably taxing after awhile. But hey they are getting paid well for it too!

Yeah that's what I don't understand. They said the lower decks characters are "in life action" and not cartoons. So it has to be time travel to the future.

@@JH-mo7xmtime travel is not a problem in this case because you have no time for travel to other countries or regions or places that have different time periods and Spock and Uhura have different time travel periods so they can travel more frequently than others

discovery already kind of retconned that, however in some leaked set images of season 2 kirk does appear to have a different badge

@@Icha74 If you're talking about "Star Wars" instead of "Star Trek", it's not that big of a slip. Happens all the time. They're both nerdy franchises that start with "Star". It's basically your brain's "autocorrect" following one well-worn neural path instead of the other. Especially after a long, tiring weekend.
