AWESOME FIND! LIKED! SUBSCRIBED! I was a third grader when this series first ran, and I loved it. I understand Ellison's distaste for it, but I don't agree with him. When you watch The Starlost through the eyes of a child, letting go of reality, it's easy to see why it remains a favorite of mine.

I don't like sci-fi, never have but the only two sci-fi shows I watched were the original Star Trek and The Starlost. There was something about the simplicity of Starlost that I liked, along with the male and female leads who gave it an otherworldly tone.

I love Harlan, even secretly recorded while eating lunch, but he was totally wrong. Keir Dullea was incredible. He took terrible writing, gauche props, abysmal directing and yet managed to create a cohesive character that is the only believable thing about the show.

Is Harlan eating wings during this interview? So many sloppy mouth sounds...

He was eating a really low quality cheese sandwich. You can find the entire original audio on the Mr. Sci-fi RU-vid channel

I used to be in awe of Ellison. Now I hear him as a shrill, angry man who was full of himself. The thrill is gone

He was very self absorbed. I tried to read the book, Phoenix without Ashes, but I put it down after reading Ellison's forward. He was so vitriolic that the book instantly lost any meaning for me. Sad.

He was such a tight ass about everything. He must have been called Cordwainer Bird more than he was called Harlan Ellison. He sure did like Babylon 5 a lot thought.

@@plasticweapon As I don't follow scifi, I guess not everybody knows he was an asshole, now I do.

Blake? OK that would have been as bad as Keir was, only in the opposite direction. Starlost was lost at the budget. No actor could have saved it but Keir? Not a chance. He would be perfect for Michael Valentine Smith.
