Since coporations like Cyberlife only value profit, they wouldn't want to put that feature in, because it would deter people from buying the Android. We already are wary of Alexa and Siri in real life, and some of their recordings were used in a court case, which hurt sales. I think it's likely a privacy setting would be made or the function would never be offered

It should be the child's decision if they want to be ripped from their families, I think it would cause conflicts with androids copping them out like that. I think they should just be physically built to protect children and vulnerable beings when there's danger in the moment

Very good detail! I do enjoy the fact that it makes a lot of sense because Markus and Carl has that father and son like dynamic ever since the start to begin with, even prior to him going deviant. Carl treated him as a human, taught him interests in music and art, and so on. We've seen that the androids were always able to do a few things outside of their original programming (Markus with painting, Conner saving a fish or deciding not to shoot a tracy, so on.), and I believe Carl brought out the best in Markus by treating him so nicely

@ZEalousZATZfig the problem with AI isn't the fact that they can do certain jobs better than humans. It's that people refuse to adapt to the jobs that are created from the advances in AI. Albeit some of the jobs that it opens up requires specialized education, but that's what makes free/subsidized education so important. Eventually you'll see countries which have invested into education reign ahead compared to those that didn't.

Coal miners need help to transition to new types of blue-collar jobs, not be completely abandoned by their government. Detroit Become Human is far from a perfect game, but it raises valid questions of what humans will do once machines start to takeover most of the job market.

Yeah it seems like the ones that are pretty kind to their androids are elderly and children. Just from the opening Markus scene, I could tell that kids saw their android like a member of the family, and loved them a lot. Same with elderly, that old man on the bench with his android said thank you and spoke politely and everything when she helped him up. However, adults don't seem to understand that it's just general decency to be respectful of these machines, even if they are just "a piece a plastic", like that jogging guy who spoke rude and threw his water bottle back at his android.

I mean, when you take into perspective an object that is not meant to have feelings suddenly gaining them all at once? Imagine if you were happy with your family and forming bonds and stuff and then one day they decided to replace you with a "better" you and throw you away. Emotional shock can make humans do crazy things, so imagine what it'd do to something that's not even supposed to feel. I'm not saying Daniel's actions were justified (consider the very important fact that Daniel recently used to be something that had absolutely no concept of what is "right" and "wrong") but his actions were understandable.

Daniel was also very much like a child mentally (why do you think he got along so well with Emma?), and as we know, children are also prone to make rash and even dangerous decisions based on their emotions. Daniel probably felt that a hostage situation was his only way to stop from being destroyed. Again, not justified, but understandable.

Like, she was wearing her shoes at night while supposedly waiting for dinner, shoes so carelessly put on that one fell off; most people don't wear shoes inside. There's bullet holes between the bathroom & Emma's bedroom, and none of the victims were shot from that angle. There's a 30 minute gap between Emma's dad being shot and when the first responders arrived - i know cops are pretty shite but they will always make hostage situations a priority & get there ASAP. And why would daniel get mad at emma without proper reason? He loved her, and it was her parents that wanted to replace him. Looks to me like Daniel wanted to run away with Emma, but she got scared, tried to escape, and then he got angry at her & took her hostage. Ofc the evidence might not be evidence so much as david cage's particular brand of Bad, but i think it makes more sense than Daniel taking his only friend hostage because her parents wanted to replace him. He'd need a reason to be furious with her too. But hey, that's just a theory! A gAme theory--

@@husband-of-chinggis I mean, he says in his rooftop dialogue that he believes Emma betrayed him, but he could be biased against the family because the father was going to replace him. She was closest to him, so her "betrayal" must have hurt Daniel more than the parents. He wasn't thinking straight and wouldn't think logically about the fact that replacing him was not a decision a child could have made. That's a good theory, but I believe that if that was what had happened, the game would have alluded to it somehow instead of leaving the clues in extremely obscure places, because Daniel's reason for holding Emma hostage would have been critically important to Connor's negotiating.
