(3:13) They were actually referring to the Sesame Street Muppets, but that would still confuse people into thinking both the Sesame Street Muppets and the Disney Muppets would be in the parade, which is why I don't like when they'd announce it that way (at least last year, they just said "The cast of Sesame Street!")
My thanksgiving day goes like this: wake up, wash my, face brush my teeth, walk down the hall yell thanksgiving to my family, go down stair see my dog, open the door see it cold , outside, let the dog out, drink my orange juice, go back in and watch thanksgiving parade on tv,, let start cooking the food, like Mac and cheese ,cake pie, turkey, stuffing, potatoes, greens vegetable, ect...i smell turkey in the oven..happy thanksgiving to you..Cashmere
I love this! It's always been one of my traditions to watch this to see all the balloons. I hope that one day I'll have a family that will want to watch this with me! Happy November! :)
Another comment on a serious note: Thanksgiving is just around the corner. No matter what our circumstance may be, we still have a lot to be thankful for. It's easy to overlook, especially with Christmas in the stores now. And in closing, I leave you with this: If you enjoyed your meal, thank God and a farmer. And don't put down and/or make fun of farmers with a mouth full of food. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
At 2:25 that same stock recording of the theme to "New York, New York" plays NBC always uses when introducing the Macy's parade. I think THAT'S supposed to be the real theme song for the parade...
One music change they did last year that I DID approve of was for the Sesame Street float. Instead of playing the dated 1992-2006 closing credits theme, they switched to a more contemporary arrangement.
I'm So looking Forword to watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC This coming November, It's always been a Tridition at my house, The Turkey would be in the deep fryer Outside of the house, the pumpkin pie would be baking in the oven, The Stuffing would be cooking, the cranberry sauce would be chilling in the fridge, and there would be a vegetable platter too.
As I post this, it is October 10 and the holidays are getting closer by the day. Merchandise and magazines for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are all on the shelves. They're coming. And I'll be waiting for you, GP. Don't make a fool of me like you did to Linus (ha-ha).
I'm anticipating this year's parade. There's a lot of opportunity for great performers (TBA, as of this posting) and the guests that are already confirmed (Ariana Grande, Cirque Du Soleil and Richard Simmons) have a LOT of potential to make it a much better parade than last year. (not that the last parade was BAD, per se, it just wasn't as good as the previous ones, especially 2008 and 2009) There is NO WAY Macy's can screw this up :)
I was rather disappointed at the fact that the Kermit balloon isn't in it this year, but the Sesame Street cast is showing up (as they have every year since 1974) and that's still worth watching, right?
