Great summary of Vectis, Jules! Your thoughts are right in line with where I see the market. Common items, even in high grade, have come way down in price over the last six to nine months. I had my eye on the Trilogo Death Star Droid MOC, but it went way too high for my budget. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks my friend. This softening of the market has actually reinvigorated my desire to collect vintage again. The choice pieces will always hold their value but the common.... well there are bargains to be had. It's a good time to collect 👍
New to collecting also first time in auction I thought the prices were very reasonable picked up a few moc my favourite buy was loose, hollow cheek, tusken raider, great video. Keep up the good work.👌
Thanks Darren, I reckon you probably got some bargains there as the prices, overall where very reasonable. The hobby seems to be calming down a bit which is great for collectors. 👍
I'm the buyer of the unused B-Wing you mention so hope I didn't over pay too much! I will do an unboxing and review of it over on my channel when it arrives in about 6 weeks knowing Vectis awful wait times. Oh and it was 25% commission which is among the highest out there in the auction world which definitely would have put off a lot of bidders.
Excellent, first, one of the best ships out there, I've got the Trilogo version myself. The buyers commission is just crazy, it seems so high, especially when compared to others. Last time I bought some lots off Vectis I too was surprised at how long the items took to get to me. I paid the day after the auction finished then waited another 6 weeks. Vectis commented and said they had got an extra three people in the post room so hopefully yours will be much quicker, but please let me know🙂
@@JulesBurt Yeah when it turns up I'll do a review on my channel and cover my experience with Vectis - I did this with a mailaway pack I got from them and wasn't impressed with their service so this will be the test on whether things have improved.
@@JulesBurt Hi Jules the video is now up on my channel! I cover my thoughts on Vectis timescales and dreaded commission and whether this is value for money for the service towards the end of the unboxing and review video.
Just watched it mate, nice items but that commission, it's eye watering and yes, the time taken to get your items is still way too long. Three and a half weeks, blimey. When I mentioned how long it took my last purchases to arrive, they got really defensive. Oh well. 27% plus the sellers pay them 20% of the hammer price, they are taking it in as the best middle men in the business!
Like you said: probably too much to choose from! Prices were pretty low! I had been to Celebration and saw these figures on display! Filmed a lot of them! Plus I had spent money 💰 at Celebration and on eBay on a carded Meccano Ree-Yees! Great video!
Not a star wars collector as I've said, just got the original dvds and 9 movie death star bluray boxset, apart from a few bits as gifts,as always, love the videos
Great video just started collecting 2 new hobbies over the last 2 months - both vintage star wars figures to 85 and vintage sci-fi novels (both very enjoyable for different reasons but not always 'affordable) enjoy doing the research and displaying finds. Love the channel for these reasons.
You'll find plenty of both on my channel.i feel it's a very good time to start collecting Star Wars as prices are down a little. With SF books, there are great deals out there with a little patience 👍
Great video mate. wow some utter bargains. unfortunately I missed the whole thing. Saw the stand at celebration and thought the estimates were low. who knew eh? I'd say. : Buyers 1- Vectics 1 - sellers 0. defo a win for the collectors.🙏🏻 look forward to the next video
I enjoyed the video very well presented. Regarding the values its boom and bust it never bothered me because I collect for the love of it and if i cash in when the time is right good and well as long as my family benefit from it but as for now I just love my 77 to 85 vintage collection. my childhood years and no money can replace that or buy it..😊
And that's the right attitude to have. Just collect what you love and if the value goes up over time, that's just a bonus. The vintage items will always be king with me.
Great as always! Jules, what is the object over your right shoulder on the shelf with the animated screen and clock? The thing just above the Bob Dylan book?
New collector, first auction and thought the prices were very reasonable. Spent a few quid also got the hollow cheeks Tuskan raider loose which I thought was very nice.👍 great video keep up the good work👌
This is why I don’t not buy to much figures because you have got to save money and since it’s getting harder to keep up on the things you love threre no need to buy to many figures and yeah the prices are just ridiculous like anyway may the 4th be with you
I’m not into collecting for investment or because things may be worth money, but if you’re talking £50 for a carded figure it’s too much let alone hundreds, I get it some figures have gone at auction for less than perhaps they may have recently but on eBay prices are still astronomical, and most of us can’t bid hundreds of pounds on multiple items which may also affect vectors auctions, how many people were in each auction? No one wants a bidding war
@@JulesBurt I imagine at some point there will be a huge fall in value of all these toy lines, at some point slot of collectors will have either stopped collecting all together and will cash in or just keep what they have, others like me will have everything that they can realistically obtain and therefore will have slowed down with collecting, by this time the new collectors I’d imagine will be collecting toys of their childhoods meaning the demand for 80s toys will have fallen greatly, or am I thinking about it too simply ?
Hi, I'm Jon from Vectis Auctions, we can auction your collection on your behalf. If it's large collection we could even pay the cost to get it shipped to us. Whatever you decide on, good luck for the future.
