I wrote a program to determine which geometry dash icons are used most in Demon List Extreme Demons in Geometry Dash. Use these icons to up your GD skill and grind the top hardest levels :)

I guess the formula is: 1 ÷ (#waves × #colors ^ 2). That's the probability if we don't include human bias

Something I noticed is that the top 2 cubes might have a technical reason as to why top players use them. These cubes let you visualize the hitboxes perfectly. The inner cube in their designs shows the hitbox that cubes use to detect when would you crash on a wall (That's why you may touch a roof without dying). The outer square is the hitbox for spikes and other stuff. The same may apply with the big circular wave, as apparently the inner circle in its design is the closest we have to the hitbox size in a wave design. As for the ships, balls, UFOs, robots and spiders, I think people go for a design that's as closest as possible to the hitbox. And default icons are a pretty good choice, because some icons have some details that go beyond the hitbox.

The reason why most people that has beaten a demon list demon have the default wave is because that was the only wave in 1.9, and either it's for nostalgia reasons, or they really like the default wave.

I noticed that the reason why pro players use the default cube is mostly because the hitboxes perfectly align with the outline of the cube, making it easier to see when you should click.
