Very surprised that you didn’t mention the real historical significance of the Statue of Liberty. It was a gift to America from the France, after America ended slavery. Hence why the original statue had chains shackled to one foot and the other foot broken free of the chains. She was bronze…the color of many slaves. It’s amazing how history is glossed over.
@@jrsmith1998it is true except his comment makes it seem to me the broken chains on her foot are not visible? Or maybe he meant in the original both feet were visible, either way the statue was commissioned by an artist in 1865 when slavery ended celebrating ending of slavery. 20 years later the writing was added to welcoming the poor and tired and confused many that it was a statue welcoming immigrants because you can barely see the chain unless looking from the top down which is hard to do with ocean on all sides.

True. I believe she was a gift from France, but America decided to not only change the features, but the color. Goggle a close up of her feet, the broken chains of slavery are still there!!!
She was a copper colored woman representative of the natives that were already in America and later made slaves along with those brought from Africa. The original statue of liberty was a gift from France that was first rejected because of her appearance and features. Look it up - another truth that isn't taught in America but is well known in other countries.
