Steph Curry showed some of the top guards in the nation some shooting challenges that he likes to do while training at his SC30 Select Camp this past week. This was the second challenge and it really put into perspective just how amazing of a shooter Steph is. Steph went against Jordan McCabe, Jahvon Quinerly and Tyler Harris. He didn't warm up, he just stepped into the challenge and did this, hardly breaking a sweat.

But think about it though. Making it through this drill means you're shooting about 70% percent over 5 spots and 3 different ranges. So you can't even groove at 1 range. Considering that a "good" shooting percentage in the NBA is above 40% from 3 range, this is crazy demanding... and Steph just breezes through it. Disgusting.

Steph probably shoots like 85% from 3 in practice. That's what it takes to shoot 40% from 3 in the NBA. Even Lebron can make a high percentage in practice, the difference comes down to in-game scenarios with hundreds of variables that affect your shot.

We'll know in a few years whether any of these kids can put it all together... as Steph has done. Difference was all 3 of these kids were highly recruited with JQ being a 5 star. Curry was not big recruit from HS thats why he didnt get many offers. But clearly he had the talent which broke thru in college.

mmmm....you sure?. I mean, I know most centers and power forwards could not do it. We can look at Free throw percentages and assume that every player who isn't at least 80% efficient in FREE THROW SHOOTING, ....they could not do this! SO its a matter of looking at that statistics. Now to think of it, Im sure more than 50% of the players shoot less than 80% at the free-throw line, wouldn't you say? If they can't make free throws, how the heck can they make these shots?

See how Steph eases into his jumper, his release ios quick as hell but his body movement before the release accounts for the makes. Wheras look at the stiffness of the HS kids because theyre thinking of the next shot instead of locking in flowing into the shot, very good shooters though you can see on there makes why they are top guards but Steph's flow is something special kinda like how Melo flows with his type of jumper.

You can tell these kids forms change as they go through these progressions as it does to most young players that aren’t conditioned for that kind of shooting haul. Steph goes through the whole series of shots with the same form, lift and rotations on the ball.

I remember we had to do this drill on my college basketball team. It would take us 30 minutes minimum to actually get through since we went around and came back. Steph is just a beast.

what people don't realize is he has the most efficient shot as -well. The way he is able to rotate his hips gives him a torc in his shot that makes it effortless, his motion and release is pure art.

Most D-League (G-League??) players would barbeque the absolute best amateur baller you've ever met. This definitely shows you how many levels of skill there are between being good and being the best at something. You don't realize how much of an assassin Curry is until you see him sleepwalk through a drill that gobbles up the best high school players in the country.
