Great suggestion by my monthly member Amy and others, the Steve Gadd-style flutter!
Gadd is definitely one of my all-time favourite players, his contribution to modern drum kit playing is undeniable and so many of his signature moments (like this) are a masterclass is applying drum rudiments in a musical fashion.
I’m thinking specifically here of the way he plays this lick in Rickie Lee Jones’ classic “Chuck E’s In Love” ( • Video ), but this is a great little lick you can use in loads of different situations and change up too.
