I'm convinced you are the "Bob Ross" of crochet. I absolutely love your tutorials and always check to see if your channel has what I'm looking for first. ❤🥰
My son is Scrooge in the local high school production of A Christmas Carol and I quickly whipped this up for the show! It’s perfect! Thank you so so much for sharing the pattern and for the pleasant tutorial! ❤️
4 years??? I can't believe it's been 4 years since you put this wonderful pattern out into the world! Thank you Craig! I know my count is a bit off but I'm somewhere close to the 100 hat mark. Many heads are being kept warm with this wonderful and pattern!
I sat down to crochet this cap and I smelt the stench of a brain fart... Was at a loss for a good minute or so.. Thank god for you, for sharing.. must be I turned 55 today and that entitles one to 55 more brain fart moments.. Happy Birthday to me, using the yarn my kids and grandbaby gifted me yesterday.. thanks to you for sharing your brain fart remover sparkly dust.. I now can do some yarn therapy to heal an "old and lonely" sad feeling. I'm very appreciative of your being in this universe.. thank you. 💋💜💋 #☮️💚🤗
Merry Christmas Fibre Spider! I just wanted to say thank you for this wonderful gift of the stocking cap! I am having so much fun making these! I made the first one as per your instructions and it turned out great. The 2nd one I extended the length by adding another row of no increase rounds after the increase row and wow, it's too cool for the people also! I'm giving that one to a friend and am now working on a third extra long one for myself! Next I will make more of the original one so I can have plenty to share with everyone. Also everyone should know that yours is the best video on RU-vid for stocking hats as after I made the first one I checked out the others and yours is the best! Thanks again for another perfect tutorial and Merry Christmas to all 🙂
This was great. You take time to explain steps, and that is so helpful for beginners or those who are starting again. The pace was just right. Thank you!
Thanks for another GREAT tutorial! I originally tried this with a Lion Brand Mandala yarn colorway and didn't like it! Too soft/stretchy and too stripey. To my delight, I found a Jumbo Super Saver skein in Walmart in the colorway of Icelandic!!! Yay! I loved the look of the one you made in that yarn and it is working up very nicely. Not a huge fan of the "feel" of this yarn, but more suited to the project I think. For anyone interested - I wanted a longer tail, so I am doing two rows between the increases instead of one. Still giving me a really nice smooth taper, but will end up longer. Hoping to have enough left over to make a pair of fingerless mitts to go with the hat. You are the best Mr. Spider!!
This is a great tutorial! Thank you so much for doing it! I am making all of my grandchildren elf hats for a group picture this Christmas and these are perfect for the older 3 kids! I was exactly what I have been looking for and easier than I thought it was going to be! Thank you again for the time you put into to making this tutorial!
Thank you! So so much for this simple fun video. I've been searching for something I can make for my toddler to wear to bed for a night cap that hopefully may not fall off. Shes been liking wearing hats to bed and this will be perfect. I'm loving the color changes and the gradual increase shape. Also the tassle is super cute. God bless you and keep up the great work!
Your tutorials are always so easy for me to follow. So I had stitched up a filet gnome scarf and had a bit of the same yarn left over. I thought how cute to stitch myself a gnome hat. I'm using this tutorial and adding a fur brim at the bottom with a fur pompom!!!! I love it! Thank you Spider for your inspiration!
I may have to stop watching your videos. I still haven't finished the last project they made me want to do. Honestly though. Thank you. I really like your channel. Very inspirational and enjoyable.
Omg I was about to come up with a pattern on my own for one of these hats! Now I don't have to! Thank you thank you! My daughter has a lot of hair but always gets sweaty under regular hats and itchy cuz there's no place for her hair. This is perfect for my little snow bunny! Thank you!!
Made these for myself and a friend, we have worn them at 2 different Christmassy outdoor events this week and on both occasions have been approached by total strangers admiring your design...one even caught us unawares taking a photograph of us! Great hats, great tutorial!
Great tutorial! I've watched others that go to fast. I'm self taught and not very good but found it easy to follow along with you! And I always stay caffeinated!
I just wanted to thank you for posting this super easy-to-follow tutorial. This is my favorite type of hat to crochet. Currently making several Santa style ones for my family for Christmas.
First of all thank you for the tutorial, very easy to follow, Awesome! I made one for my daughter but added front & back post double stitch at the end. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for yet another wonderful tutorial! I just have to say that when I started today, I was a bit stressed. But... you have got such a relaxing voice, well it helped so much! Again, love your videos and look forward to starting another one!
I think my granddaughter would love this! Very cute!!! Thanks again for your videos'i. I listen to the monkey paw and dracula and truly enjoyed it! Your very talented!!!!!😄

Hey Spidey, I just finished mine - I used bright red pure alpaca for a luxurious hat and topped with a white tassel! It worked up so quick and is very cosy! Loads of your patterns I want to make, thank you x
I love your tutorials!! I'm going to have to find a moment to listen to your audio books, I love your voice and manner of teaching crochet! Thank you so much for posting! Have a wonderful holiday season! Brightest Blessings to you and yours! :-)
Just found you Fiber Spider, so glad i did. I made this and i think it turned out great! Thank you for a beginner pattern and your easy to follow tutorial!
I had this hat, when I was a small kid. I used to wear and run here and there..it was the combination of yellow and brown. I will knit ahain..thank you
Hey Spider. I have 3 granddaughters. Two go to one and the other goes to a different school. I'm going to make each one a hat out of their school colors. Love this pattern. So very easy as you said.
Fiber spider I love your yarn in the box videos and your love for the yarn I can’t have enough yarn either it’s almost my special toy to make nice things keep teaching cause will continue to learn and try
Lol, thank you! Truth be told I just went today to pick up some fresh skeins for yet another project, some of the Caron Big Cakes in the colorway 'plum pudding' - simply gorgeous.
Oh my goodness....how did I not find you until now? Love this hat and working on one now...with a second one planned! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity! 💗💗
Just what I've been looking for, for a big Lights Switch-On/Outdoor Christmas Event coming up soon! My yarn arrives Friday...cant wait to get started on these hats for my friend and I! Thanks!
Though this video is 5 years old, thank you for sharing your cap tutorial. The video is not that clear but I was able to follow your instructions compared to the previous videos of other people I saw first. They are making the steps complicated for a new crocheter like me.☺ I love your Dr. Who scarf. Do you have a tutorial for that? I made one for my son a few years ago, and to this date, he is 28 years old now and still using it. ☺
Hi, Spider and a very Merry Christmas to you and yours, from Across The Pond...just wanted to say that every time my friend and I wear our Elf Stocking Caps we continue to attract smiles and great comments! On the caps, that is...haha! Thanks again for posting your tutorial! :) Lorraine in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland xx
Super cute and easy to follow! Thank you so much for this tutorial! All the other patterns I tried made the hat have bumps going down! I am turning mine into a Gyrados Pokemon hat! Subscribed! Xx
As a video watcher I love this video and you are great at crocheting and instructions .. the only thing I'd like to comment on is with the start up being so small of a piece the varigated colors made it a little confusing to follow... im still learning and hope you don't take offense it was not ment that way ... thanks so much for your video. Can't wait to make one..
This is an awesome pattern!, I would like to make it very long, where do you reccomend adding additional rows for the length? Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Hi Fiber Spider! I am crocheting the hats for the ballerinas in the kids production of the WIZARD OF OZ, this will work! also thinking this increase would work well for making bell sleeves!
Thank you for this amazing tutorial....My son wants an extremely long tail...do i just keep on till I get the correct length WITHOUT the increases....I have 88 stitches which is his size head.....thank you from South Africa
I love this Stocking Cap and found your U-Tube tutorial to be very helpful. Could you possibly post the written pattern for this Stocking Cap because I would like to do the next Stocking Cap in my comfy chair?
I think if I wore this cap at Christmas I'd die of heat stroke - Christmas in Australia is a tad warm... Mind you if I wore it in winter I might die of heat stroke too... Sydney doesn't really get all that cold either. Lovely cap though - wish I had a reason to wear one. Love the "seamless" look.
