When all the engines were talking about the German spies and the hospital train I remembered the lorry accident and how the lamp was sitting on the road and then it clicked for me, the lamp was on the road because sir topham dropped it! I know everyone probably realised this but When I realised it I was speechless. Well done Victor!

Finally, Duncan reveals why he was so arrogant and mean to the other engines and we see Sir Topham learn to live with the dreadful things of his past. In other words, this episode was "A Rollercoaster" 1) Sir Topham had a real dark story out there 2) Blimey... Whatever duncan faced on the barn hill railway was AWFUL to say the least, it makes the steelworks from JBS look like a good enviroment 3) Speaking of duncan, the mid sodor engines apologizing to him in that one scene was... Damn, i got relaxed real quick, after all these years, it finally gets Wholesome again 4) it was good featuring Lady Hatt in this story, and also, i tought for sure the doctor was Blair, as in Burke and Blair, And when i saw one bit of terence out of the place, i tought one thing, INSTANT GOSSIPING 5) i was mostly expecting a more intense confrontation between Topham and Anderson, like when Douglas had to face dominic all that time ago, but what happens!? It turns out Anderson was no Psychopath, and just wanted to test his needles, i mean, how many times did you played us like fools victor??

Dr Anderson is right. Coming from a future biomedical engineer, I can confirm this. any healthcare professional's worst fear is striving to do the best you can do, trying to help as many people in as many ways as possible, and then eventually finding out you made things worse. there is no greater fear. it can result in not only the possible death of many people, but also survivors guilt, feelings of self worthlessness, and many other things. and it's even worse with Psychiatric professionals, because you realize you just gave them a fate worse than death, which is living with pieces missing. like with sir thoppam, you've just taken away memories, parts of their life, and it was all because you were trying to fix them. I understand this, even though, thankfully, never having experienced it. It is horrible. If you are feeling like this, I implore you, I urge you, I cannot stress this enough, TALK TO SOMEONE YOU TRUST. It will help. And sure, I may not be in the medical field yet, but most of my family is in medical professions. while none of them have suffered from this, I still understand it somehow. And the way I understand it, you simply need to talk to someone.

12:46 Best part of the entire episode! It’s so heart warming to hear the music with the guitar playing with atlas and Stuart telling Falcon and Stanley that it was an accident and them feeling bad and then apologizing to Duncan is so touching, for a long time they hadn’t apologized to him for Andreas’ death and now they all have a closure on the whole event and can now move on and support each other if they ever think of him 19:13 Duncan your so right 22:05 Gordon: “FIZZLING FIREBOXES, WHAT ARE YOU THREE BANG ON ABOUT!?” I was either thinking that Duncan would explain his story and it would be a flashback and showing him in the preview of the episode “Revelations” and he would be yellow originally and then when he was bought from Peter sam then he was repainted to be part of the Skarloey railway livery colors Or it would be him as normal, but he turns yellow because he is honoring Andreas, but he was dark gold not yellow Eh close enough! The next episode is “Relationships” I will wonder how Thomas and Kate are reacting with Samantha

I like to imagine that engines have a much better memory than humans in this universe. This is for several reasons, but an example is how in this episode, Thomas not only remembers the day he first saw the lucky lamp, but he remembers a very specific train being pulled by an engine. I like to imagine that their memory is this good, because they need to remember time tables, entire railway networks, the location their trucks are supposed to be, and for shunting engines, the location which trucks are supposed to be. That’s quite a lot, so I think that engines have particularly above average memories so that they can remember all of that. I’m sure there’s some way to disprove that, but I like the theory, so I like to think it’s true.

A beautifully done job here, Mr. Tanzig It's small wonder Toppham couldn't remember his time before Sodor. Anyone would be desperate to forget such a horrible experience. Duncan's origins also leave little room to speculate. The early 30s were truly a terrible era. It's amazing that folks put his past behind them, but they're all the better for it. And actually, the MOST amazing things here: that Doctor was legitamently remorseful for everything he did, seeing his methods outpaced his restraint and made his patients lives hell, and that Toppham actually forgave him to let him rest. I can only hope to be as forgiving one day. Nice touch with the add-on of how he met his dear Lady Hat~

Finally, we get to see and hear the revelations to what happened with Sir Topham and learned about Duncan's origins. In terms of the episode in general, it was okay but that's only because I feel like there wasn't much of a story going on. However, the lore for both Sir Topham and Duncan has been excellent. Beginning with Sir Topham's side, I really liked the therapy scenes with Dr. Simmons as Sir vents about his experience in the hospital - couldn't believe what happened with him and I feel bad for him. The ending of his side was very tense at first, but came to a nice ending once he faced his fears with Dr. Anderson. As for Duncan's side, that explains everything to what he was so arrogant and mean in the past - he worked for "The Rotton Railway" and was mistreated and overworked, it's no wonder why he acted like the way he did. I do like his new yellow paint, really does show that he's now brand new and won't act like he did in the past. So great job with their backstories! It's a bit of a shame to see the Lucky Lamp gone from the stories from point forward, as the other engines never saw it again and that it was contained by the SCP, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does make a few cameos in the background here and there, whenever luck is needed, just as a bit of a nod to it. Overall, this has been a very interesting episode. Not that great plot wise, but answered the revelations of Sir Topham and Duncan really well. Amazing job, Victor!

It could also mean that after Anderson passed on, The Lucky Lamp, no longer feeling it was needed, surrendered itself to the SCP Foundation, allowing it to be recovered and Shipped off to an SCP Facility somewhere on Sodor. (I say that because Godrick's Ghost and the Creature encounters imply that the Foundation have a HQ on Sodor, to handle the Supernatural events, and Old Bailey is likely one of the members, an SCP working with the Foundation or just a helper, as Old Bailey was stated to have been around when Duke was a New Engine fresh off the Works.)

At some point he'll either retire or pass away but we can all guess his son will take over as the fat controller. Be the shocker when the engines see him look exactly his father. Great work Victor on another great episode, can't wait for the rest. Wow this and lamp are a great 2 parter. I love how well the series lines with each instalment. The German spy Lorry crashed in 1917 because Sir Topham dropped the lamp while going to the hospital. I like how Duncan has turned a new leaf and everyone forgave him. I always like the dynamic between Thomas, Toby and Edward since they've been around since the start, makes me miss Adam, Lily and Colin. I'm sad that the SCP foundation nicked the lamp but I hope it'll make an appearance in the series finale. Also James mentioned that fort actually closed. Then we see that there's a fort being built in the Skarloey railway. The hype for the past week for this episode was unreal. Looks like season 4b has three more episodes left. New fort episode, Thomas' relationship and the WAS van.

Well, I'm certainly glad to hear that Dr. Anderson realized that what he was doing was incorrect during his trial. It's also wonderful to know that Duncan has finally found closure from the ex-MSR chaps in that they no longer blame him for Andreas' death, and he also has closure about the Barnhill Railway. I'll admit that I'm rather distraught about the disappearance of the Lucky Lamp as I'm sure the SCP Foundation may have nicked it, but I'm sure things will get better without it as time goes on.

This episode was a very nice conclusion to two long-standing story arcs! Firstly, we learned why Duncan was such a jerk for so many years, and he was able to finally reinvent himself and move on. Secondly, we found out so many new details about Sir Topham Hatt's past, and he was finally able to overcome his demons. In addition, it looks like the Lucky Lamp ended up getting snatched away by the SCP Foundation. Maybe it's an SCP in this universe? In any case, I think it's safe to say that Season 4 Part 2 is your best crop of episodes yet! Can't wait to see more of it!

Alright everyone i’m calling it now with all these hints victor is giving us. There’s gonna be another sodor short mini series revolving around the scp if that’s what it’s called. - in a q & a victor said he was planning on doing another mini series. - final episode in season 3 victor basically said that organization was inevitable. - the culdee fell mountain was made a nature preserve that same year the CFR opened, to keep tourist away from something serious since those who trespass are arrested. - the disappearance of the lamp gives me anxiety, it basically has a mind of its own and now that it’s being captive is awful - the nartwin is now gone which once again makes me nervous, even if it was murdering people - Jack Bailey was scene chasing the big creature, but no solid evidence. - that final shot of this episode looks like the military base that was mentioned in the our faithful lore book, aka The ios book That’s all i have gathered my final thoughts, possibly a season 5 and then the mini series. if anything else i’ve missed let me know.

That Lucky Lamp seems more suspicious as we learned in the previous episode. First it was there, then it's not? Sounds like it has SCP labeled all over it, and that box having that representative symbol nearby the lamp is more suspicious. Maybe later down the line we'll discover what the lamp is really all about.
