My theory about the roaming fossils Pokemon is that over the years humans revived enough of them to let them loose in the wild and integrate the modern world

Mine is that they're somehow related to how that Cosmog ended up in Crown Tundra. Many NPCs comment on how strange Pokemon have appeared in Crown Tundra lately, which I assumed includes the fossils.

@@dannyboy598 I don't think you understand how it works though before he can start the dlc again all the added features for extreme have to be added before he can continue it otherwise its just vanilla crown tundra and isle of armor and the reason why extreme hasn't continued is because the isle of armor and crown tundra weren't in the game yet so it'd make no sense to continue extreme without them otherwise again it would just be vanilla crown tundra and isle of armor because the features to it wouldn't be added on the game. I do think that whoever adds in the extra features for extreme has already done it for the isle of armor already but the crown tundra will take like 1 to 2 weeks probably.

I think because the Crown Tundra is a place of isolation, fossils can roam freely there because there are not a lot of people that can disturb them and the climate is probably the same as the Ice Age, so it's like time hasn't changed at all for those Pokémon

Just in case you're interested in shiny legendary Pokemon in the den for Tundra, if you choose NOT to keep the legendary after capturing it, then you actually get to encounter it again and capture it again until you decide to keep it. This so far seems to be the only way to shiny hunt them. The thing is, if they are shiny, they don't appear shiny in a raid battle. Only viewable on the last screen of the results of all the Pokemon you captured at the end.
