He’s not that switched on. If it was it someone like Israel Adesanya, then you he would of have given an answer like that. He’s all about the memes lol Charles could learn off Izzy
Interviewer: “Charles, is it true that as a young karter you took out Max after the chequered flag?” Charles: “Gentlemen, a short view back to the past...”
I have to say Charles' english has gotten exponentially better since those early streams he did a few years back where he tripped over himself a lot. Now he can have much more fluid conversations thanks to his broader vocabulary, great job Charles!
@@thatracingguy5694 because some other media platform overbid them by a huge and unrealistic amount. The ziggo company cant compete with those international (middle eastern (if im not mistaking)) companies
Even though I have ziggo, I prefer to watch a pirate sky broadcast because to me they are just sooo annoying. I actually believe that they see max as their god and saviour.
"Racing incident" is an actual term for when there's contact or some other rule broken between two drivers, but neither are at fault. It's just something that happened. An incident.
I like how the reporter just wanted the simple "yes" like how is that interesting to watch rather than listen to charles explain it from his point of view
OLAV MOL: Charles, question. Is it true that as a young karter, in the old days, you took out Max in a karting race *after* the chequered flag? CARLOS SAINZ: After? CHARLES LECLERC, UNABLE TO KEEP A STRAIGHT FACE: Wait- OLAV: Or did he take you out? CHARLES: It was in the- it was in the rain. He was leading, he was closing a lot, we were both of us quite fighting in front... And I had to find a way to pass him, so I pushed him a little bit wide, okay- CARLOS: Who was faster at that point? CHARLES: I was- on this particular race, I was faster. So I pushed him a little bit wide, overtook him. Next corner, *he destroyed me. Completely.* _(OLAV begins laughing)_ I went from second, with a five-second lead, to be seventh or whatsoever. I came back second. And at the end of the race, after the chequered flag, I remember- I would remember all my life. And, uh- it's a double right hander, and I go- OLAV: Yeah. CARLOS: Where? CHARLES: Val d'Argenon. CARLOS: No clue. CHARLES: And I go on his right, and I- look at him and goes like this, *_(doing the all-fingers-together Italian hand gesture)_* alright? Like, "what the hell did you do." _(OLAV laughs again)_ And he was watching me, we touched a little bit, he took the white line that was wet, and went straight. And there was a huge puddle. Em- puddle? OLAV: Yeah, puddle. CHARLES: Puddle... That was probably this high or something- CARLOS: And you went into the puddle? CHARLES: And he- and he ended up in this puddle, which was, like, he was really wet, um- probably the water was arriving to his hips or something. So, uh, yeah. OLAV: So, the short version of this is "Yes, I did." CHARLES: Yeah. OLAV: _(laughs)_ CARLOS: Well deserved. CHARLES: Yeah, but we both get d- got disqualified. He for destroying me and me for... pushing. CARLOS: Both deserved. _(EDIT: added the interviewer's name)_
@@REFLEXLWD No they didn't want to quit, but a scandinavan company gave more money than Ziggo for the TV-rights. Ziggo couldnt afford to pay more unfortunately
It's hilarious how no one talks about Dutch bias. If Sky Sports were asking the same question about Lewis or any other British driver, they'd be castrated.
@@johannesberglund2070 I did read your comment, but you clearly didn't watch the video. Charles said that he started pushing and then Max pushed back and then Charles pushed him off track after the race ended.
bruh every driver pushes other drivers wide and gets pissed when they get pushed wide but if you want to think that its only max that is or was like that than i also cant help you with that
Since he was little Verstappen has been doing stupid moves. That explains the Hamilton incidents then and all the others. I wonder if someone will come and put him in his place in the future.
A lot of people said the same about Schumacher and Senna. His moves arent stupid, they're risky and it pays off more times than not. Its just that everyone remembers the moves that didnt work. Just like Hamilton when he took risky moves on Albon twice and took him out
@@zenvious5645 Except he didn't make a move on Albon the 2nd time, Albon tried to overtake around the outside of turn 5 in Austria when there was contact.
Max has always been a dirty racer then, big baby. You think he’d have grown out of it by now but noo still trying to take Hamilton off every chance he gets
Hehehe in the history of F1 all championship contenders have done that..hamilton has been pushing Red bull of track for 3 years now..ask albon and the Russian
