Ohtani was able to succeed in his two-way game player both pitch and hitter because of his unique and unprecedented way of thinking and actions in the process of his development. He was not born as a unicorn, an alien, or a superhuman from the beginning. In youth baseball days, there would be large number of boys who want to be an ace pitcher and the No. 4 hitter both, if they possible. However, the reality is that many boys player give up to be both, as they go on to serect specializing in one or the other, whichever is relatively more dominant. Shohei Ohtani may have been one of them, but he is a rare person who, even after entering high school, did not give up that dream and continued to want to play both pitching and hitting if possible. He is the kind of person who never gave up on his dream of doing something that no one had ever done before. Naturally, many adults around him must have tried to persuade him that it was reckless. But Otani did not listen to their advice and did not give up on his dream. Even as a high school student, he was someone who dared to try to realize a dream that was said to have little chance of success. He analyzed himself to determine how he could reach the pinnacle of both pitching and hitting, grasped his current situation, identified what he lacked, and analyzed and wrote down what he needed to do to achieve his goals. He came up with specific methods to achieve his goals, including ways to strengthen and improve his baseball skills, processes to strengthen his basic physical strength, effective training methods, research on dietary methods to grow bigger, his outlook on life, his way of life, and even his lifestyle.　And he has continued to do so from his high school days to the present.. This is what makes Otani unique, and the producer who made Otani what he is today is Otani himself. 　This process is recorded in the 81 matrix sheets of the development scenario he drew up himself when he was 16 years old. Although Otani is blessed with innate qualities, he is neither a unicorn nor an alien, but a person who is able to continue his daily efforts and self-improvement in order to achieve his goals.　That is what has made him what he is today. What we should learn from him is the process of thinking and acting to achieve his goals that he practiced.

Fun facts about Ohtani -In the little league, he has hit outside of the field and hit the traffic light and broke it -also in the little leagues, his coach prohibited him to pull as his homers would go straight to the river and loses so many balls. That’s why he became good at hitting to the left field -His high school coach said he was good enough as a swimmer to make it to the Olympic team -During the Fighter’s career, he would reward himself after a game by stopping at Seven Eleven to buy a chocolate crepe . He was also on small allowance as his mother managed his money, yet he still managed to save tons of money for his very little spending -No one has heard him dating anyone, but he got plenty love letters from school mates in high school. He never dated any girls as he was too involved with baseball, yet he and his friends got together and read those letters 😂❤ - His high school coach taught the team to pick up trash as trashes are luck other people threw away. Ohtani still picks up trash to this day -His coach from the Fighters was asked what impressed him the most about Ohtani. The Interviewer was probably asking about his ability as a pitcher or a hitter, but his answer was, “His personality” He said he had never seen a human being who was as perfect as Ohtani as he is super polite, respectful and humble. The interviewer continued, “oh…come on! There’s got to be something bad or weird about him! Share! “ but the coach said, “Nothing! He is simply perfect.” -In his high school days, he ate 10 bowls of rice 🍚 each meal to gain more as he was super skinny -He was known as a “mama’s boy” among his little league moms 😂 Well, there are so much more that were shown in the Japanese variety shows in the past, but these are some that really stuck in my mind. ❤ I also have some really fun facts about Ichiro and Matsui …well…some other time😂

Until last year, Ohtani had excellent results even though he basically didn't do any batting training, so I'm looking forward to this season.

I don’t need to say how good he is. This guy is literally to most who have watched, the greatest ever. But I don’t think that’s what will be his ultimate legacy. Just as with Ichiro, and Matsui, if you look at the influence he’s had on those who come after, that’s going to be the legacy of Ohtani. If you look at people like Roki Sasaki, he was influenced by Ohtani. There will be others, but the reality is that Japanese Baseball has surpassed American Baseball. In 100 years from now, the striking out of Trout at the WBC will be a moment that you see on MLB highlights when they do the best ever highlights. It will be remembered as one of the greatest moments in Baseball history.

i am a huge ohtani fan....But i have to say 2 injury that stop him from pitching altogether for the season is very concerning....I love to see him pitch and bat...And i will hate it if his pitching gets stopped for this injuries....i hope dodgers can lessen his shoulder strain to get many years out of him as a two way superstar

I don't know much about baseball,even if it seems a very exciting sport but I realised he's an incredible player and he became a great player since 18 years old, he's one of the best and he's playing for the Dodgers,one of the most remarkable baseball teams now and he stills being humble and down to earth, he's a role model for Japanese, Americans and everyone who want to follow for your dreams and becoming someone in the world.
