Whether holding it down in the studio or leading from the front with his band, Marcus Miller is one of the most heralded bass players on the planet.
An unbelievable soloist, a lyrical fretless player, Marcus wrote the rule book when it comes to playing in the pocket and has every technique imaginable under his fingers - but despite his stratospheric technical chops, his overriding legacy is one of laying down the groove and serving the song.

@@Jason5818UI - There are a lot. Only a few get the opportunity to lay it down on a record. Let alone a single/album that gets radio play. Now take that same number and apply it to Black musicians across the most popular instruments...bass...drums...piano...trumpet....sax...Understand: We come from LINEAGES of this soul, gospel, jazz, funk, hip hop, R&B stuff, unlike other races who merely sit around critiquing, commodifying, or waiting to consume the arts we demonstrate.
