Well, now we can't tear it apart..... because Toontown Rewritten is out! :D

Toontown Rewritten is okay but it does not have that same feel that TTO had.

Because TTO was paid to keep the servers up unlike TTR who isn't paid and does not even accept donations. Which means, they still have to have a life in order to make money, inevitably making less time for TTR. They are doing their best and continue to improve.

If Toontown 2.0 was approved by Disney, then the game could've been able to stay alive for a few more years.

Yes for club penguin which even their fans hate them, honestly if their project super secret is a toontown club penguin they are fine but it looks like it's not, and now infinity is going too, we just hope Disney won't cancel KH, #TTO4KH3

You never know. Could be part of the reason they're allowing TTR to live-- keeps interest in the game while they work on the prototype, and as such it's free advertising :P I'd forgive Disney forever if that turns out to be the case. I would not mind going back to a subscription based game either, this game looks like it'd be worth it :)

Smurfette98 They didn't buy it, technically Toontown Rewritten is illegal, not that any of us care. But I mean a sort of modern sequel. Like making this wonderful Toontown 2 idea, and bringing to fruition without the name "Toontown", or any copyrighted material.

Smurfette98 Yes, you can play the prototypes, but they are just that: prototypes. Not the full game. Also I'm fully aware of what TTR is, and I play it as well.

im surprised that they didn't try to add a toontown style section to disny infinity or even just main toontown charaters to the cast of figures that they had for it (if they had done that so many more people would have brought and played Disney infinity

+Mr. Fluffy what's scary is that Disney is thinking of shutting down all Disney video game things but KH, and what they were trying to have us replace it with Club Penguin, but hey we have one Disney mmo that is not rly a Disney mmo being swtor but I doubt people would play since I heard Disney is actively trying to shut it down, due to some money going to bio ware I believe, but hey who knows... In addition: The concern of the Board of using Unity was actually really valid. To mention FusionFall again, even though the game was released in 2009, it was still a very rough and unstable mess. Since Unity had been directly modified for the first time to do MMOs, instability was a common issue with the game. Sudden crashes, disconnections, missions not loading properly, etc.

For disney to abandon it would be foolish. Hopefully they decide to bring it back if this news indeed shows infinity dying.

***** Yep I like having more than one source for news. Thanks. Yeah they are foolish for abandon toontown. I do hope Jesse does get toontown. I believe he could make it without the Disney characters. Currently you can play toontown bowling on Disney site but it lags some.

james64468 The news article I linked, I re-read it and it says something about disney interactive oursourcing their games to other companies. It wouldn't be too far to say that Schell Games could still have toontown under disney's name, but run mostly by him. If so, I'd love to see him finally implement his idea of dancing buildings and field offices.
