Wow Bonny, what an amazing story full of hope and positivity, a real down to earth insight into how to get started and be successful as an artist. I've been an artist for over 60 years, and although I have sold a quite a few commissions, I have never been successful in a full-time business. Not that I haven't tried, either! I also framed the pieces myself! And, most of them done in COLORED PENCIL! People just didn't want to purchase artwork if they could have a photograph of their pet instead! I have invested a lot of time and money in attempting to pursue 'the dream'...including art books, lessons, materials, instructors and... endless frustration! With all I have invested thus far - and I do know what I am doing concerning art in several media, I am wondering what I could really benefit by further educational quests . I have trained techniques in pen & ink, pastel, graphite and watercolors as well as mixed media. After so many attempts through so many years and ending up with medium to negative success on a periodic basis, I have come to realize that becoming a 'successful artist' is all it seems... just a dream.

In the past I have attempted to start an art business this is way before the days of the Internet, and it never worked out for various reasons . No one really believed it would work, including me. Now, I have thought about it again, and have concluded that I am now too old at 65 to be starting a business. Sadly, I have had a few bad experiences in the past that prevents me even considering it, even though I would like to have another go at it, if that makes sense. Seeing what you and others can achieve, is awesome, but I don't think it would work out for me. Probably because of past experiences and the wrong mindset.🙂

Henry Ford said if you believe you can, you are right, If you believe you can't you are right. I'm 65 and I'm gonna go for it and you can too
