To the Prem snobs who keep commenting "iT's OnLy BeEn 8 gAmEs" understand that Ange's managerial career goes WAY BEYOND his appointment at Spurs. It is a career that has been building for 27 years. He's accumulated 21 trophies throughout this period and has left multiple legacies at the domestic level and the Australian national team. Believe it or not, there is a football world that exists beyond the Premier League! It remains to be seen whether Ange will truly succeed at Spurs, but to entirely discredit him so soon is insanity! Especially considering how well he's actually performed thus far in the Prem...LOL
Correct..it’s only 8 games in. However in those 8 games it’s better than most of the dire football served up by Nuno, Mourinho and Conte. Nobody had even heard of Arsen Wenger before he walked through the door at our rivals (sorry can’t bear to say the name) give the man some respect and let’s see how the season pans out for spurs. At least all spurs fans agree, we have our team playing on the front toot again.
As a Spurs fan, after doing a deep dive on him, I realised I was never so excited for a manager to join my club. Perfect fit and what an incredible bloke
Yup.. same here.. when he was 1st appointed i was like everyone else.. but after reading about him I cast out all my doubts.. he was perfect for Spurs..
As a naturalised Aussie from Manchester, I wanted him for the United job after I witnessed his Brisbane team won with exciting high voltage football.. before SAF retired. Although I'm loyal to United, I'm watching Spurs with a lot of pleasure
The guy has had an amazing journey and deserves to be where he is now. First few games of the season have been good hopefully he can keep up this form. Up the Ange 🇦🇺
Its not even a thing of "keeping form up". Anges teams only get BETTER after six months of his teams learning his radical pressing system and intricate box rotations. I lol every time someone thinks "oh this honeymoon will end", as they dont realise that this is just the start! Yes spurs are doing okay so far but they havent even hot second gear of angeball. Very exciting
im a lifelong spurs fan. i have some pals who are celtic fans and they told me about Ange and to be honest i believed them but still thought he couldnt change the mentality at spurs.. well.... what an amazing human being and amazing coach. we love watching our club again and are top of the league without playing at full potential.. great video. thanks for the full background on this great man
As a Celtic fan nobody will ever criticise or try to ridicule this man ever again. Spurs fans are very very lucky having him at their Club.Great man brilliant manager, people sometimes forget that football is supposed to be an entertainment..ANGEBALL say no more ⚽️⚽️⚽️🍀
He is an elite manager. And I don’t say it lightly. People always go on about Conte, Mourinho, Poch all the rest. This guy is a much better fit for Spurs than these guys and honestly if you take the CV away he is a better manager. But he has come from leagues that everyone thinks his next step is a step too far. And it never is. It’s not an accident and this path has kept him so humble and down to earth. Love the guy and miss him at my club Celtic but I understand and wish him and Spurs only the best. The connection he creates is truly special
Could not agree more. Thought I'd watch the video for a couple of minutes, but ended up watching the lot and wished there was more. Doesn't happen much on You Tube.
@@egoist_chanHow will it ? ? What about the Spurs manager who managed them to become the first team to do the modern league & FA Cup double ?? Or the first British team to win a European trophy ?? What about the manager who managed Spurs to become the only side ever to win the FA Cup as a non-league side ?? Maybe use your brain before writing nonsense, trying to be funny.
if you want to know more background story.. The chairman of Panachaiki FC in 2008 was a millionaire from Australia but with Greek roots and that how he brought postecoglou in Panachaiki. But in the next season the chairman resigned and the new chairman (most disgusting chairman in Greece) force Postecoglou to play other players than the Postecoglou wanted.. So that how Postecoglou resigned and came back to Australia. The rest is history. I can't believe that we had such a brilliant manager.. All the Panachaiki fans we are proud of Ange
Also apart from being a disgusting human being that new owner is kinda infamous for being attacked by his ex wife with her high heels and then moaning on media for this murderous attack. It was really funny.
Yeah, I remember reading and hearing several stories in the Australian media about that situation at the time and leading to his appointment at Celtic as well. It may not be so easy to find now with the passage of time.@@DMac__
@@davidbeeson9408because you can attack someone with the intention of murdering them but not succeed. It’s why someone can be charged with “attempted murder”.
I'm a Celtic Fan. I was devestated when i heard Ange was leaving but i don't hold it against him. Some of the best football i'v seen Celtic ever play was because of this man. Would take him back to Paradise in a heart beat.
I'm a 49 year old Australian, and a Spurs man since I was about 4. I made a little bit of money playing footballand saw the politics first hand. I can tell you from experience that Ange fought Australian football politics his entire career here. The people that have run football in Australia have been just awful. It's nepotism and protecting their own job that has kept the game back. Ange couldn't take it anymore and left. I bet he is living rent- free in all of their heads now. Go big man!
I think the thing that gives me the most hope is signings like Veliz, Phillips and Vuskovic. It's clear that Spurs are comitting to the Ange project, and the promise of such young stars shows he's willing to build something special.
I remember when Ross Mac , a big Celtic fan, wrote me a small essay on the benefits of Ange so at least I knew we were headed in the right direction. I expected the football to change and get a couple of pastings along the way (still could happen) but as long as the ethos was right, there was absolutely no complaints from me after having to deal with fossil football extrodinaires Mourinho and Conte - who barely looked at Bissoumaa nd Sarr, the mainstays of our midfield this season - and little but not too dissimilar Nuno .Now, we are unbeaten in 8, the first time since 61-62 season and playing the best football I've seen at Spurs for years, we're nowhere near the finished article but I can honestly say, I get super excited when we're on the TV again. Two manager of the months and two player of the months for Maddison and Son respectively. Long may it continue.....
Great tribute to Ange. Now sitting on top of the table after 8 rollercoaster games. Already winning awards as Manager of the month x2 and inspiring 2 player of the month awards too. Would I have believed this was possible 3 months ago. NO. This is the stuff of dreams and long may it continue. We’ve been awaiting his coming for a long time now. I ain’t no church goer but, Thank God for Big Ange, COYSX!
Absolutely love Big Ange! And wow what a quality video. Editing, material, writing and narration were top notch. Thank you for doing one on our incredible gaffer!
Absolutely wonderful video! Thank you soo much! Postecoglou is my favourite Tottenham manager already, not only because of the style of play, but also the classy and humble man Postecoglou is.
Unlike some managers this man has worked his way up on every levell, and has grafted & earned his way to the top.The turn around at Spurs has been amazing.
He adapted very fast into 3 different leagues with different cultures and languages. I absolutely hate this as an Arsenal fan, but actually kind of respect this man.
Wow, what a thorough analysis of Angeball! Completely absorbing. I enjoyed every second of the introduction and can't wait to see what Ange and the lads have in store for us going forward. #COYS
To note, there hasn't enough time to even implement the 'get rid of the dead wood / get in all the players I want' part of Angeball yet, so it's only going to get better!
I have to hold my hand up. I was pretty skeptical of his appointment (who is this guy?). I thought we'd be in for another season of mediocrity, at best and a relegation scrap at worst. I've never been so happy to be completely and utterly wrong in my life! Regardless of whether he wins anything with Spurs or not, he's already done something far more important: He's brought the joy back in watching and supporting Spurs. He's given Spurs fans something to hope and believe in. That can never be underestimated. I'm behind Ange-ball all the way!
Top manager!!🏆🏆🏆💚🍀🍀 love seeing all the doubters back track in their thoughts, comments & disrespect for this absolute amazing guy!!! He will take Tottenham to the top!! All the best ange, keep it up!👌 HH BIG MAN 🍀🍀🍀
It was unbelievable to see the Celtic fans truly embrace Ange. What an incredible two year spell that was. A match made in heaven. Have the utmost respect for Celtic 🤝
thats your english arrogance for you, "our league is the best in the world and this guy will fail"! as a rangers fan i think he's a decent, honest guy that plays a great brand of fast paced attacking football, i hope he shuts the doubters up, he's made a good, solid start sofar and i for one would like to see him keep it going, even a lot of rangers fans liked him
If you are a genuine leader, none of the things that the people say matter. You are here for a reason. That reason is proving that we are better today than we were one year before. :This guy is proving that. Kudos to him. What a manager we got in spurs now.
As a spurs fan of over 40 years AP is everything we have needed for a long time and he is very much loved in this part of north London - he is a great fit for thfc
Great Summary. If you want to understand what AngeBall really is you do need to concentrate more on what made him, South Melbourne, the NSL and the rivalries. The South Melbourne shirt was a heavy shirt to wear. Not only did you have to win but you had to do it in style to appease the 15,000- 20,000 supporters at Middle Park and make your community proud. If the Italians weren’t bad enough to play against, then you had Croatian, Maltese, Serb and even other Greek based teams clubs wanting to knock you off week after week. Every game was a derby for South Melbourne. This is where AngeBall comes from. It is Pre-Puskas. It is very much a migrant’s reaction to not wanting to be pushed around anymore and the mentality that I will win by outworking and outthinking my opponent. South Melbourne becomes the sanctuary where the supporter can go to feel good for a couple of hours. Ange as kid, rose up through this system and the crowd enjoyed watching Angeball even before they knew that that is what they were watching.
Fascinating how the European migrants within Australia have cultivated such a passionate football community. I think it’s why he has immediately settled in any European football environment. He just gets it
@@DMac__ Of course he gets it because he was born out of privilege and without friends in high places. He has had to fight for what he has. That is the migrant experience because no one will give it to you. AngeBall is more than football. It is about vindication. Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, Australia National Team, Yokahama Marinos , Celtic and now Spurs all appointed a coach with a Dad Bod who looks like he is waiting for a bus. Ange doesn’t have the same haircut and presentation as the other coaches. The presumption is what does Ange know about football. Look at him. This guy is a joke and at best he is lucky. AngeBall is about proving your doubters wrong through hard work and burning the candle at both ends. So as long as you have your Klopps who won’t accept a result and move on, AngeBall will find a way. So when the ball goes in the back of the net under AngeBall that is what makes it so sweet and the fans can’t get enough of it.
Villa and Brisbane fan here in Australia. What this bloke Ange did at Brisbane seemed miraculous- 34 games unbeaten and playing like a Southern Hemisphere Barca. He really knows football and doesn’t need Prima Donnas to achieve his goals. Before Villa signed Unai Emery I was hoping they would go for Ange.(Say no more.)
Im a spurs fan. And i loved Poste before watching this video. But now i jst feel so connected with him now. If he makes Spurs win the Prem in the future, He still has a 100% winrate of making success at failing clubs. So amazing! I Love you Ange
I must admit after all the crap spurs have been through I was a sceptic never heard of ange but watching my team play the way they are and the feeling he has already brought to the club finally can we hope 😍
I’m a rangers fan and honestly hated ange at Celtic but it wasn’t because of him. It’s because I was jealous that Celtic had found him. Honestly what a guy he is. And I hope he continues to prove everyone wrong down south and win spurs a few trophies. Also buvey and Rory can actually suck my plums. Can’t stand the guys
When I had heard about Ange Postecoglu accepting the tottenham job, I had been so happy (mainly because tottenham had a manager now) but then I did a bit of research back into his backround and a recent success at Celtic on where he had won the Scottish Treble, I was even more happier. Ange is an amazing role model as a former player, and managed for the longest of times, he’s brought an amazing spell upon Tottenham and he’s bagging these wins. Keep it up Ange we love you.
I'm really excited to see where this ends for Tottenham and what effect he will have. His style is so different, if he can be successful in the prem there will definitely be copycats and hopefully that makes soccer much more exciting as more coaches go attacking.
“Soccer” ? 😂😂 Don’t you watch the Premier league ? It’s very exciting already & attacking coaches have been the mainstay for a fair few years already, so….
All the best managers in the league right now literally all play attacking football. Pep and Klopp are proven great and have been doing it for years, and then you’ve got De Zerbi and Arteta who’ve been just as impressive this season and even more proven in the league. Even Eddie Howe’s side are playing incredible football finishing top 4 and ripping apart psg in the champions league. Ange has literally just been knocked out of the efl cup and had a good run of form+ luck in only 8 league games lol.
Love this!! As a Spurs fan from America, this is extremely encouraging. If the team can stay healthy until the January window, i think they absolutely can win the title. There is zero reason why they can't. Arsenal will lose and City has already dropped points to teams they normally wouldn't.
Excellent production mate and Ange is a perfect fit for Tottenham because all of football outside of the lane takes great pride in hating Spurs and that includes pundits and news agency’s. Its long overdue for change and seeing egg on the faces of the haters is something i for one am looking forward too along with the titles and cups of course! It wont be long before the pundits and hacks will be trying to get Ange away but I believe Ange is here for a very long time and why go elsewhere when you can have a burger with the lot everyday!
Everyone seems to want to ignore that his first coaching job was at my old club Western Suburbs were he was a player manager at the start of the 1994 season before coaching us from the sidelines after we went on a good run and in second position on the ladder. He was from the very beginning a great motivator and instilled a belief and confidence in the players at his disposal. After that one season he went back to South Melbourne as an assistant to the great Ferenc Puskas before taking over the top job and the rest is history.
I was probably one of the few people in the country to see there was much more to this man’s ability as a manager than was the general consensus at that time if you looked at his management philosophy you could see he had many similarities to the top coaches in the game but was vastly underrated he is now proving those people wrong and Spurs are where they are on merit and I don’t see them dropping out of the top four if spurs hold onto him he will win trophies with them and likely end up as a legend at Spurs there fans have waited a long time for someone like him to come to the club and completely change the mentality of the players and fans and long may it continue as a Liverpool fan I don’t blame what happened in the game against us on Spurs they played really well and what happened took the shine off what was a wonderful advert for English football the more teams you have that can compete at this level the better and is the reason the premier league is the best in the world
As a Rangers fan, we pretty much all ridiculed him as a nobody when Celtic appointed him Celtic fans did too, but by god we were all wrong. He turned that club into a winning machine and he started without a full team. Alot of people don't realise last year Rangers had 95 points which wins the league 9/10 times but Celtic were that good, i think they lost 3 of the last 5 or something but the league was already won by then i think if they didn't go on that poor run at the end they would've finished on something like 104 which is ridiculous. We were so happy to see the back him, and we all pretty much knew he was the perfect man to make spurs what they should be. The english fans and media gave him the exact same criticism we all gave him. 2 and a half years ago and hes proving everyone wrong once again. Hes still a big gravy guzzler but hes some manager and I'm thankful hes not at Celtic anymore.
This was a really good video, up there with anything provided by The Athletic, who are the top dogs imo. I've done some reading up on Ange since he joined the club but your video helped fill in a lot of blanks. I was cautiously optimistic when he joined, having lived through the good times under Redknapp and Poch, to have to undergo the torture that was Mourinho, Nuno and Conte, it almost broke me. Certainly I could feel my interest waning in games. Ange has been a breath of fresh air, he's down to earth and relatable, while still being a fantastic coach and manager. I can't think of too many people that could have taken the team he inherited and turned things around so quickly. Sir Alex Ferguson perhaps but a) it wouldn't have been as entertaining, and b) that's some rarefied company there. I was expecting a rough start and I'm sure there will be bumps along the road, but Ange has already built up the goodwill he'd need to get past that. I'm not sure he would have got a full year of disappointing results before Daniel Levy pulled the trigger but I'm equally sure the chairman knew this was going to be a process. Now, my question to all of you who have been following his career much longer than I have. Is Ange the kind of manager that can withstand a long-lasting tenure at one club? He's regularly moved on, not staying anywhere longer than 2 years I believe. Are we (Spurs fans) going to be crying in our beers in 2 seasons time when Ange has moved on, or would he be likely to stick around and get us fully established in this style, and at the top, top end of the table?
Congratulations. What an amazing achievement. All the excited videos I’m seeing from spurs are fully justified. There’s not a hint of desperation in the air. 👏
@@DMac__ It was really thorough mate - good Aussie flavour as well. I’ve been a Spurs fan since I was 7 and I’m 52 now, and this is the most excited I’ve been in terms of not just how Spurs are going, but how we’re playing and the vibe amongst the players and the fans. I know it’s early, but I would not be at all surprised to see Ange win a few trophies over the next few years. Big call, I know, City are unbelievable, the Arse are always a threat at present, to say nothing of Liverpool, Brighton and Newcastle. But we are in the mix and we haven’t been for a long time. Thank again pal.
I love it. Every know it all football pundit with a little islander mindset that is so prevalent in Britain is being made to look a fool. Well done Daniel Levy for actually going against the grain because the only constant in life is change and the people who put too much stock in the old way of doing things inevitably get left behind
Well done and an excellent video which taps into my path about psychological technigues in life. When you are born poor or in strife, you live with a belief inside of you, how to get out of this position and in my view from Ange's body language, that is in his soul, which has nothing to do with sport or tactics. People like him, will do everything to never go back to that darkness, so faith and self believe takes over. Some of the high ranked coaches were educated by comfy backrouns who learned the game from text book sports who have no concept of what Ange has experienced. In my view, he sees what is ahead of him, trophies and he has no interest in reaching the top 4, as most managers aim for. If you dont aim high, you never will, Ange has that inside of himself and any owner of a club have to support him to the full. I am not a Spurs fan, but since the season started, that was one team who were more awake than any other club, determined to hurt you.
This comment is so disingenuous man. You clearly didn't watch the video. I covered the Spurs component for less than 3 mins at the very end of this video. His career is absolutely a success. 27 years dedicated to the profession, 21 trophies accumulated. A legend for his countries national team and legacies left at multiple clubs.
