The most iconic snk sub boss and he doesn't like smoking at all. I find his design to be one of the best in the series and he's also British but his weapon which isn't a staff but a stick with 3 segments and 2 chains of both sides. I don't know if Billy kain is trying to build a rescue helicopter but I don't think that matters. His personality is also pretty well and he's just a solid character.
He is what you call "Lawful Evil". He is the lesser of the evils as he wants Law and Order- BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY- UNDER HIS RULE! As for The Bogard brothers and Rock - i believe that Geese has been with alot of women, got the Bogards' mother and Rock's mother pregnant; their respective moms tried to inform him baby(babies) are his, but he didn't believe them(it happens, with the way women fuck around these days), and thus abandoning/not claiming his biological children. But yet adopted Billy and Lilly. Geese was a troubled man all because his own father forsaken him , and as such grew up in poverty- thus feeling weak and developed a lust for amassing power, to never be made to feel weak ever again. This has damaged Geese. He is more of an redeemable Anti-Villian rather than an unredeemable villian(like his brothers Krauser and Rugal).
Mr. Big's name is James?! Also, I wonder when Geese replaced Big with Billy...probably soon after he killed Jeff in 1981? Who knows? Anyway, great video man👌
Geese was a Police Commissioner who took control of the underworld, establishing order by bribing(or blackmailing) Mr. Big to work for him(thus Mr. Big harboring a secret hatred for Geese). This was between 1978(having Ryo and Yuri's mother assassinated- and Killing Jeff Bogard- setting the stage for AOF and Fatal Fury), and 1987(the alleged year AOF 2 took place. Note: SNK like to retcon and shift the timeline days alot.
@@ramonantoniobennett-ryuuke6301 That retcon timeline makes no sense. When did Geese kill Jeff Bogard? Also, a little Mr. Obvious here: AOF/FF is one timeline, KOF is its own timeline.
@@ramonantoniobennett-ryuuke6301 Also, 1978 is when AOF1 happens. It was in 1968 when Ronette Sakazaki died. Geese wasn't involved because he was just 14 years old at the time. Geese kills Jeff Bogard in 1981. This makes perfect sense with AOF2's ending(Geese disappears at the end of the fight)and him killing Jeff while the Kyokugenryu family is out of town and thus not able to stop him(AOF3, if we consider that canon).
billy dislikes but respects terry billy hates iori with a passion buy yet wants to kill joe for liking his sister. damn i even think billy would rather work with iori and terry, over letting his sister date joe. Like his mentally is "you will date my sister over my dead body and even if i am dead i will still not let you date her"
The interesting thing is that Geese and Wolfgang Krauser’s father abandoned both Geese n his mother a tradition that Geese would live up to as he did the very similar thing with Rock and his mother and the same hatred Rock has for Geese is the same hatred Geese had for his father when you look at it like that Billy Kane is like Wolfgang Krauser though Billy is not Geese’s son, Geese and Krauser’s father did keep Krauser as his son allowing him to inherit his nobility and wealth the same way Geese keeps Billy around whilst not caring for Rock though unlike Krauser who killed his father Billy shows no sign of double crossing or killing Geese though I feel.
@@meganinten0078 He doesn't really "betray" terry or so to say, its more like, he feels like he had already matured enough to go on journeys alone without terry, and terry, being a father figure for rock, is just worried that rock wasn't capable enough to go on the journey alone, even though in the end terry agrees and finally lets rock decides what he wanted to do
Actually Art of Fighting did not feature a King of fighters tournament, the first one was showing ryo and robert going around town getting clues to rescue ryo's sister. KOF actually canonly debuted in the Fatal Fury series.
Billy was the kind of character that really grew on me. I hated him during Fatal Fury (and the way he cowered and waited until someone could throw a staff so he could keep fighting). For me he was just another criminal bully. But when I discovered about his background, his love for his sister and total devotion/loyalty to Geese, I started to respect and even selecting him as one of my characters. His soundtrack is also amazing. "F I R E !"
Man the more info around Geese just solidify how much better he is as a character. No this vid isn't about Geese. Billy is an admirable character and I feel he's likely to find your wallet and to return it with everything inside.
Thats why i prefer FatalFury story kof story....is filled with gods and just overpowered shit with 0 personality...only kof boss who can be compared to geese is rugal
Absolutely wonderful~ I confess the parallels between Terry and Billy surprised me! I can't believe I didn't see it before! X'D Both were orphans, both have younger siblings, both have father figures who trained under the SAME master! It's genius! Lol I hear Billy appears in some mobile phone novel that takes place between Real Bout Fatal Fury and Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Also, he appears in the KOF anime which takes place in the Maximun Impact series (which loosely continues the Fatal Fury continuity in which Geese is actually dead). In both that anime and Maximum Impact 2, he has some interest in Rock Howard since he's Geese's son. Great video as always~! I'm glad Smash Ultimate remixed his London March theme~ X)
Yeah. Billy's story in Maximum Impact 2 was great. He really needs to move on with his life after the death of his boss/'father'. At least Terry gave him a good advice (in Terry's story) 'Avenging someone dead leads to nothing' Terry knows by experience
Hey! It is Joe's future brother in law 😆 I like Lilly. She was very fun to play in Maximum Impact 2 and Regulation A. Her alternative costume is the best. I hope she appears in KOF XV as playable.
While it's just a theory, IMO Kane isn't Billy's real family name. Since he and Lilly are street orphans, they don't remember their parents. Billy ends up getting known as "Billy the Cane" on the street among the thugs for his skill with his weapon, and he eventually changed it to a word more like an actual name for himself when Geese took him and Lilly in.
I Found It Really Interesting How Maximum Impact 2 Handled Billy's Character, He was Trying To Find a Reason To Live After Geese's Death But Wasn't Being Able To ( Unlike The OG Kof Timeline Geese Is Dead In The Kof MI Games ), He Also Confronts Terry About Geese's Death In The Game Which Is also Pretty Interesting, It's Shame We'll Never Get To See The Rest Of That Story
I always thought Billy was a cool character. Now that I know his story I think it's rather neat. I understand Billys perfect loyalty to Geese. I have always been the type to give my loyalty to those who have helped me too. Great job. You got my subscription.
I love this channel and it's dedication to SNK lore. Kyo is my favorite character but any chance you will do a Rock Howard or Kaede video in the future?
I was hoping you'd mention the beef Billy has with Joe. Even my longtime friends that I grew up playing Garou Densetsu/Fatal Fury and the Orochi Saga with weren't aware of it.
I agree with you. Despite working for one of the greatest villains of fighting games, and the absolute king of South Town, I truly believe that Billy isn't a bad guy. In fact, I always had a thought of how would he look like, if he was in Garou, and if he'd keep his loyalty to Rock, even if he was raised by Terry. I mean, after all, Rock is still a Howard.
Billy brings a weapon to a fist fighting competition. Come on its fair everyone else has magic powers and ancient techniques so a bo staff is not cheating.
I like Billy' story in KOF Maximum Impact 2 He really does need to move on from being Geese’s loyal lapdog whether he’s dead in the Fatal Fury timeline or alive in the King of Fighters timeline. It did look like they took his character development in the right direction during his ending with his sister.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who made this mistake but due to the fact his weapon is a pole, I always thought Billy’s last name is pronounced “ kān “. XD It’s interesting to know that despite Geese being a villain, he doesn’t mistreat his right hand man and I love how Billy still cares for his sister. Honestly, this is great stuff that I thank you for diving into.
Wonderful times currently indeed lol most the times playing video games at home. Billy Kane is the kool UK Punk Rocker that to me was the OG kool Punk character who is the OG KOF champion and sub-boss, seriously imagine the army random thugs characters you see in Streets Of Rage and Final Fight with the mohawks and hoodies would see Billy Kane is their top tier leader like a legend on the streets for em lackeys that being said it would have been kool if there was an SNK sidescroller beat em up!!! Thats just me making fantasy ramblings though lol. In KOF Billy in terms of consistency usually tends to team up with Yamazaki and Blue Mary though mostly in dream match games and I think KOF 97 being the only canon game. Hey you should do a vid on Mark of the Wolves characters as I think they are underrated and some unfairly were just in that one game but characters like Freeman, Khushnood Butt, 2 Kim sons, B Jenet, Grant, Kain R Heinlein and Kevin Rian would be nice and obviously Rock Howard vid that goes into details with his relationships with both Fathers Geese and Terry to add to his content.
I had my suspicions about Billy. But now you've confirmed them. Truth be told I didn't even know he was British 😂. So thank you for clearing everything up, entrenched I always admired him for his loyalty I respect that. About him, thanks again 😂
Oh yes !thank you ! 4 me all I knew was billy was geese underlining! But know when I play him I can tell my friends south town belongs to geese!! Forever!! I learned so much from these videos and go back and rewatch them with my friends and they to appreciate your awesome work! Please keep them coming!!! Oh yeah and because of your ryuji video everyone love and fears and respect him as much as I always have! He’s the best !
I was exposed to capcom first SF2 like most gamers my age. But when I was introduced to the world of SNK I fell in love. The character development is unreal. Capcom is definitely a great rival for capcom but when you put a capcom character up against an snk character they're always so much more interesting. E.g ryu vs kyo, Chun li vs mai, cammy vs leona, sakura vs athena

Billy returns to a new game called Fatal Fury (Garou Densetsu): City of the Wolves, with a new look--a pair of sunglasses and without his trademark bandana!
Very glad you had these cover "shoryou" i thought KOF was lose on this era.. but you got it safe.. hope some anime author watch this vids you have and make anime series that have its origin 96 to VIII.. the 3D KOF series was really Good but there is something odd with it its like it the phase was to fast.. keep up shoryou all your vids has got us 10/10..
Man, those KOF endings make so much more sense now that i know Geese was interested in the Orochi. I played them in Japanese at first and so out of order, that i had no idea this was the case. And I'm glad you mentioned this Shoryu; kudos to SNK for allowing Billy to generate flame but still keeping it from fan favorite Shingo. That's the attention to story and detail that makes this game endure. Great, and informative Vid Shoryu. Thanks!
