The Story of C. H. Mason and Development of the Church of God in Christ | 1993 

In 1906, my great-grandfather father of my grandmother, Rose Catherine Condoff, was asked by William Seymour, to come to the Azuza Street Revival to help labor in Lord. He responded via letter, that he was unable to come because he'd met Bishop Mason and was asked by Bishop Mason to help establish COGIC churches in Mississippi and Louisiana

My grandfather was a COGIC pastor. He and my grandmother stood for holiness. I was blessed to have them in my life.

🙌🏽LEST WE FORGET !? Never, no never❤ Our great Founder and Leader laid hands on me as a child around 1958-1960 to be healed of respiratory issues and God touched and healed my body. My sainted mother took me to him and the saints to be healed. Praise God! Upon his death in 1962 my Mother and I viewed his body in the lobby of Mason Temple. Forget the mighty miracles??? Never, never, never!!!🙏🙌🏽💒♥️

So glad the Lord showed Bishop Mason the way of the Holy Ghost. He came out of the Baptist church where some still fight the Baptism of the Spirit of God evidenced of speaking in other tongues. Thank God the Lord knows those who are His.

Are they still doing this now? It would be wonderful if so. I have absolutely enjoyed this. Now when I view the church, it seems the bishops are more focused on money and status.

♥️🙌🏽I thoroughly enjoyed this very informative documented history of the Churches of God in Christ. I learned so much more than I had previously known. Like the fact the Bishop JO Patterson was the 1st elected Presiding Bishop. In which he was elected to serve many years after. Then the next was Bishop LH Ford who was also the Bishop of 1st Jurisdiction in Chicago where I was raised. I did not know and was beyond impressed to learn the many things that he started under his leadership. Lastly, when the Pastor confirmed that Dr Martin Luther King speech and Malcolm X funeral were held in COGIC. I have also seen another documentary where Emmet Till funeral was in COGIC. I am sure there are many instances in history COGIC were a part. I love finding out these things. It is my personal opinion that if the younger generation knew the various aspects of their history. Oh and let’s not forget to make God of the Bible and Holiness the focus. Many of their perspectives would become clear and change for the better.

Yes Azusa Street birthed many ministries. Assemblies of God and the Church of God in Christ being two of them. William Seymour was a humble Apostolic preacher who started a Holy Ghost fire that is still burning today.

My late great grandfather was a bishop for central Michigan jurisdiction (1952-2007), He was ordained by bishop mason in 1944.. My great grandparents were surprised that my grandmother was married to my grandfather (who was baptist in Chicago). They knew holiness and salvation like that, and our family believe in it.

Who got to elect Bishop Patterson ? Was it the Bishops or was it congregational ? Does GOGIC still have the same doctrine as Bishop Mason ? Do they still believe Baptism of The Holy Spirit comes with the evidence of speaking in tongues ? I did not know Azuza street came from 1904 welsh revival

They should have spent more time converting Dr King. Its sad some are more comcerned with making it clear that Dr King came there. What about converting him to truth of holiness and rightousness.
