I don't have nearly as many memories of Fallout 3 as I do with New Vegas, but I played it off-and-on for awhile, since my mom had a copy. I basically just ran around like an idiot and hit people with a golf club. Until I found a rocket launcher, that is. Then I spammed rockets everywhere, and blew myself up half the time; I didn't really care, I just thought that body parts flying everywhere was the pinnacle of comedy (That's also why I picked the "Bloody Mess" perk the first chance I got). In all seriousness, this opening sequence is iconic for a reason. For many people (myself included) this was the first time we ever heard of a "Fallout" game. There's so many memorable characters in Vault 101 alone; Butch, your dad, Jonas, the Overseer (for better or worse), Amata, Andy, and probably a few others I can't think of at the moment. Which makes it all the more painful when your dad leaves the vault and all hell breaks loose, forcing you to leave your only home. It's not too bad for the player, as we only knew these characters for (at most) a few hours' worth of playtime, but it must feel like a _punch to the gut_ for our character. I do like how Butch has something of a character arc here, starting out as your typical 1950s schoolyard bully (Even to the point where he's literally named _Butch),_ Only for it to quickly be revealed that a lot of that aggression can be traced back to his deadbeat of a mother. Nothing too revolutionary in hindsight, but on a first playthrough (especially when you're a kid) it seems like a major plot twist. All in all, I'm pretty exited for this series; I'm especially looking forward to your reaction to Andale :3

Hearing you read the special skills book out loud made me realize that each page rhymes, which I somehow never noticed before! Anyway, I'm glad you're tackling some fallout, and I'm looking forward to re-experiencing the many journeys this game has to offer!

I always played this on ps3 and loved it, I can't believe how people thought this game was bad.

I have watched probably more than 5 channels cover absolutely every pixel of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I cant wait for this channel to do the same. And no, this is not sarcasm. Please more Fallout, dude :D

Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Skyrim are my most favorite Bethesda games and I don't think this list is ever gonna change (maybe when I get deeper into Morrowind), as I don't like their post-Skyrim games (only one I got myself was Fallout 4 and it ended up in disappointment, so I didn't get deep into the storyline, because of the gameplay & bugs). I plan to get into Fallout New Vegas when it gets some discount on Steam, but that is not Bethesda game. So, I am glad you are doing Fallout 3 first, as I probably wouldn't watch Fallout New Vegas, as I want to play it by myself first. I'd probably watch Fallout 4, if you ever plan to do that one as well, as I don't plan to get back to it anytime soon.

Ahhh finally 🎉 fallout. Hopefully Skyrim is next

Man I really wish you had the option to tell your dad, what his actions in leaving the vault almost did to you... Not out of spite (thought that would work for some roleplay options) But simply, so he knows why you've ended up following him. It's not a good truth, but he still should know it. (I know my own father would respect me telling him to truth. good or bad. weather I'd blame him or not.)

Fallout 3 is a lot better than Fallout 4. The story is more engaging.

New Vegas would be better, aw :(
