Today we take a look at Bungie’s new ripoff of game HUNT Showdown . We will try to avoid using words ingame store for real money and avoid telling ppl this game will cost 50 Eur or more . Thank you for watching
MIDA is not an acronym, instead it is a word used to create alot of "backronyms" Idk if it started out as an in-joke by Bungie but the ARG pretty much fully ambraces this backronym-ism of MIDA, as you can see in examples below: - "Martian Independent Defense Alliance" (inferred by community due to lore) - "Mars Is Damnably Arid" (Shaxx quote in MIDA Multitool lore) from the ARG: - "Malicious Insider Disrupts Agenda" - "Mass Indifference Destroys All" - "Multiple Interpretations Don't Agree" - "Marathon Inbound Distress Alert" - "Motivate Inspire Disrupt Agitate" - "Manifest Incite Defy Atone" - "Mining Implicitly Drives Autophagy"
This feels like what I’d imagine Wipeout as a shooter to be. Loving it! Also, all this world building is insane!! Can’t wait to hear more about this as a game.
geeze this game was such a trip. played and beat all three and still not sure what happened. There's Durandal and Leela, and Tyco. Leela was lifesupport and axiliary systems, Durandal was weapons and defense, Tyco was navigation. The Phor used Sph't to attack the three AI's Tyco fell first. Durandal put up a fight and eventually is able to free some of the Sph't that began worshiping Durandal as a god. Leela helps you but she's more a plot armor device until Tyco becomes an existential threat and Durandal has no choice but to work with you to stop him. While Durandal is mustache twirling evil, Tyco is suicidal and sociopathic. By Infinity, there's an "Early Nova device" that Tyco was going to use to commit suicide and take the galaxy with him. Durandal is scared witless and offers you a truce to stop tyco. There was a weird time skip in the story as well as some time travel back to stop yourself from doing certain things. . . . there was a Phor ship that phazed into a part of the marathon (cool story, this actually took advantage of a quirk in the level editor that alowed you to draw two rooms on top of eachother that would exist simultaniously in the same space but was only accessed by what adjacent polygon you entered from. i think they called it "5d space" like the multiplayer") since the security officer you play as was a cyborg you durandal was able to do all these weird things with you including upgrade your cybernetics from game to game. Geeze, anyone know if these games are still available? love to play them again.
I love that half of the stuff in Marathon was eventually carried over to Halo and still exists in that universe as well. Marathon, Halo (even now), and Destiny are all eternally linked. Thanks to Bungie. Traxus, UESC, Misriah Armory, the Marathon logo, MJOLNIR, Tau Ceti as a colony world, AI and rampancy, etc.
So excited for this game, I never played the original since I was born 4 months after the release of the first game 😅, but this is exactly what I wanted in cyberpunk 2077 in terms of body modifications and etc.
I think a lot of this game has been seen already in destiny, bray tech are basically synths, Rasputin is the AI, and the bad aliens are the bad aliens lol but in marathon they seem similar to the covenant. Which makes me think this will be another free to install large DLC lobby with a tiresome grinding system.
It would be cool if Marathon and Halo were in the same universe, perhaps UESC manages space expansion and the economy and stuff while the UNSC is more of a military body
“Exists in the same universe and timeline as the originals” dude, you are one day going to have to specify since we now have at least 8 timelines with one Alternative Universe in the mix
Imagine Marathon's alien races actually respond to a superior being unveiling a deeper explanation on why they attacked Marathon in the first place. Not only would this superior entity need to be older, ancient really, but also quite powerful with a similar vision of conquering all solar system it comes across with in order to achieve a final shape.....see where I'm going with this? I'd love for this to be in the same universe as Destiny, it might as well be, since Marathon is still in the 2000s while Destiny is well over that and we're currently fighting enemies who're millions of years older. So why wouldn't it be valid to think there's a small chance a current foe in the Destiny universe was involved in Marathon's
As someone who hasn’t played in extraction shooters, I can see how people enjoy them. I’m going to each game with objectives and come out, hoping to achieve those objectives. Whereas most shooter games, nowadays, focus on just killing or getting a high score, extraction shooters are Popular because you can go in with nothing. Come out with something you can take into future games.
I'm not gonna buy this game because bungie still didn't finish the story for the Lightfall's veil and you would expect us "sane people" to buy something else that your previous contents aren't even finished? Pleas don't get me wrong I really love bungie I have played halo since i was a toddler and I'm a huge fan of destiny 1&2 franchise. but I'm sure they will disappoint us as they did with Lightfall.
Very disappointing how the new bungie is pulling this awesome IP out of storage just to make a generic live service extraction shooter. I was really hoping for a single player experience but then I remembered the old bungie died years ago when they joined activision and fired all the great people responsible for halo.
