@@andrewattenboroughtwothumb4697 OH that explains it well! For a minute I thought you were claiming to be the descendant of Marie Antoinette so thanks for the clarification
@@lolo3084My God do I agree! I'm British, BTW! The French Monarchy had charisma, charm, elegance, discipline, class & more so, REAL concerns, rules, regulations & actual issues to care & worry about, that they were the ones held responsible, they more often than not, couldn't shoulder the blame solely on their politicians & parliament! Not like the flipping Windsors who are so useless, bland, boring, dull & extremely out of touch. They're much more alike to reps, celebs, waving hands & show ponies compared to the Bourbons! The Windsors are the type of royals to make the people think that abolishing a monarchy is actually a good thing & that a country, monarchy-free, is a better one & free of any costs & wasteful expenditures! If poor little Queen Marie at the time was labelled "Madame Deficit" & King Louis XVI depicted a bumbling, inept fool, then the press of their times would have a real field day with the Windsors! I'd give anything to be transported back to those times - specifically Marie Antoinette's, even, if just for one brief, fleeting moment. No country does class, charm, elegance, beauty, history & culture like France does!
@@vitiahalliwell The documentary is called "The secret Versailles of Marie Antoinette". I believe it's either a French documentary or made by a Canadian production company from Quebec.
And what duties where those SHE married louie (and they where both teenagers when engaged 💍) she was Austrian HE was the bourbon (I see what you mean but I implore you to see her perspective)
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 all those years when she could have been a queen she was the dumb blonde in the pretty dress who did not take anything seriously (like the gossips around her that ruined her image in the eyes of her subjects) and decided to party, shop and gamble as if the treasury was endlessly bursting with gold while the people were starving to death. When she decided to finally be a queen she decided to be the wrong kind of queen and boy did she go for it.
@@irawilliams343 she was an Austrian princess and was only (to the best of my knowledge) produce an heir ( and she was hated before EVERYTHING just for being Austrian) how do you expect her to learn anything
@@redadmiralofvalyria867 maybe you should look up Louis XV's wife who was the daughter of the deposed king of Poland, was ignored by the French nobles because she was a nobody in their eyes, but she was beloved by the people for her charity work and died loved by the common French people.
@@irawilliams343 I have looked her up ( and she does seem like the charitable figure you say she is) it still (to me) doesn't fit marie antoinette, I mean everything marie did was for herself yes. But and to me this didn't help, france and Austria already hated eachother to begin with, the marriage was supposed to help (bit obviously it didnt) and TECHNICALLY speaking louie had himself multiple chances to change as well (he is also not without blame and maries own mother said to just "make him pleased and bare children") he was going to actually help the people but the NOBLES and his own COUSINS advised against it
