Definitely the Shredder is one of the most BADASS characters not just in Turtles but in all franchises. He's look inspired so many other cool characters just like Shao Kahn or Sub-Zero. This Evil Spiked, Double Wrist Blade welding, Tin Samurai look is pure win! Simply BADASS!

Micheal Richardson's Shredder from TMNT 2012 brought us the ominous, ruthless and most intmidating Shredder to be see in an animated series. Batman vs TMNT movie had some of those elements but went a but cartoony at times. Although...watching Shreddet give Batman a bit of the business and a run for his money was awesome.

Not a bad version of the Shredder story, but I would have at least acknowledged the original tale of revenge based on Oroku Nagi and Hamato Yoshi loving the same woman and Hamato Yoshi killing Oroku Nagi thus prompting Oroku Saki to want to take revenge for his older brother's death as revealed in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles number 1 Vol. 1.

i am old school too, Oroku Saki is the original Shredder and his best design is from the 80's cartoon. And his memorable voice dont forget that.

The original Shredder in the 1980 comic was not the head of the foot clan. It was actually his Brother that fought Hamato Yoshi over a girl and his brother lost the fight. Yoshi and his wife moved to New York and Oroku Saki followed them and murdered both Yoshi and his wife getting revenge for his brother. Splinter Hamoto Yoshi Pet rat attacked Oroku Saki and Shredder cut off his ear. Later on, this rat would get mutated along with 4 turtles and he trained them in Ninjutsu to get revenge on Shredder for the murder of his Master Hamoto Yoshi. In the original Story, KArai was actually a higher ranking Ninja over Shredder. Shredder was just in charge of the New York Branch of the Foot clan. It was the 1987 TMNT cartoon that gave Shredder his iconic role as the Turtle Main villain and Leader of the Foot Clan. The original Writers of the Turtles didn't even like Shredder as a villain and wanted to kill him off. The only reason they brought him back so many times is because of the 1987 Cartoon Making him really popular. Now The 2012 IDW TMNT comic Shredder origin story is one of the best!

I see you are talking about the 2012 animation. The full fight and outcome was shown when the Turtles when back in time. Oroku Saki NEVER defeated Hamato Yoshi when he attacked him in his house. The fight abruptly ended when Tang Shen tried to stop the fight and Oroku Saki killed her by accident.

Shredder In the first movie of the new movies was the most badass. The turtles didnt stand a chance really when facing him. That's what I wanted to see. They changed the actor on the second movie with krang and I was really disappointed because they cast the right guy in the first film. Shredder should have drank the ooze in final scene of the second movie and would have got to see a super shredder like never before.

My favorite version of Shredder is from 2003 TMNT cartoon. Because, unlike that pussy from old cartoon that was made for kids, Shredder from 2003 cartoon is violent, brutal and shows no mercy. Also he is very skilled fighter and has many trick in his sleeve. And that twist of true nature of this Shredder made me respect him even more. And i would love to see a live action version of this particular Shredder.

It also sounds the most plausible to me Splinter being the pet of Yoshi and learning all of his moves from the cage and then mutating into human-like form along with the baby turtles and raising them and training them in the style of his Master. The 2014 TMNT version is crap, as it suggests that splinter just came across a ninja manual somewhere in the NYC sewer and taught himself and the turtles with that, pffff!!! Yeah, right!!

Did you know about his origin in his original east man's comics where he was a younger brother of Oroku Nagi, who was killed by hamato yoshi for tang Shen cause Nagi was going to kill her first...yoshi and Shen fled to America cause sign of disgrace and Saki trained hard and was chosen to go to America and there he killed both....

I think the original story in the comic book tells a different story. The Shredder being trained for vengeance in the death of his brother oroko nagi and being trained by the Foot Clan, not Hamato Yoshi.

This is why you never take the child of your enemy and raise them as your own. Specially if your going to hide the fact that you did that. It never ends well and only leads to pain and death. Yeah, 4 example me dude. I didn't know about the Karai relation and the feud between the two clans in such details. Although I Know Karai as a character from the 2003 series and knew that Saki and Yoshi hated each other since they first met it the dojo. Plus Carlos made this video not to favour you but as a tribute to the character he liked as a child. That's it mate. ;)

Well, this is only one history. IDW history is very dissimilar to this. Karai is actually Shredders descendent there, Oroku Saki is an immortal from feudal japan, the reincarnation of the ultimate warrior, turned immortal by a goddess who he married. Yoshi's wife was never on his radar. Yoshi and his 4 sons were killed by Saki for rebellion against the Foot Clan, and Splinter and the Turtles are the reincarnation of Yoshi and his sons. Saki spent several hundred years in the afterlife, waiting to be resurrected by his decendents, and took over the entire afterlife before returning. Right now he's dead in IDW, but later this year he's supposed to resurrect. People don't usually come back from the dead unless you're Donatello, but Shredder is immortal, so its inevitable that he'll return.
